True with the changes but a person can switch out dark type to counter the super effect of fighten moves or keep out the dark since a few you stated are steel type and Dark type moves still do normal damage.  Then again its the person choices to change up or hope he/she wdoesn't run into a dark type normaly.

To make flareon clone you will need a ditto a daycare get an egg then time is need.  Then a eevee will be born and finally a firestone.  and that is all you need.

actually they could only do that if it were a double battle...and actually in that case i would switch pikachu out and he would dominate the Feraligator and Nidoking could easily takedown a raichu...so it's all about teamwork

yes teamwork and a good well rounded team helps.  also DOUBLE BATTLES AND TRIPLE BATTLES CAN GO TO HELL!!!  pikachu has s**t attack so Feraligatr can just one shot the rat with surf.  Nidoking a normal/posion type witch do normal to raichu.  also nidoking is 2x weak to water (i don't know why) so feraligatr can surf that guy two.

I doubt Pikachu could 1hko Feraligatr with its terribad Special. Ive been let down by him so much I can't see it ever being any good.

And a Feraligtr specced for speed MIGHT be able to out run it. If it does, goodbye Pika.

Also, Raichu with surf (legit). Your argument is invalid.

Otherwise, you've got a point. Unless Raichu gets lucky due Nidoking's defence.

Fun fact: I've never before chose a fire-type as my starter. I either chose grass or water and grass is the one I most commonly choose. The only water starter I ever chose was Mudkip. All the others I chose were Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Turtwig, and Snivy.

Nidoking is also able to learn ground type attacks which is why i said it could takedown raichu. Plus pikachu's attack isn't that bad so a thunder or volt tackle could easily takedown a Feraligator if they were the same level...

Best team ever? The one I had in Pokemon Sapphire of course! But since I haven't played my Sapphire version in forever, I can't remember all of my Pokemon.   So, I'll have to strain my mind and remember my favorites from all of those different versions.

I think the best team to have by the end of the game (at least in the older versions) is to have a Water-type, Grass-type, Fire-type, Flying-type, Dark-type, and one Legendary. I say the same first five types for the newer games, but the Legendary's are kinda useless in newer versions. I'll usually get a Ground-type instead of a Legendary, my favorite Ground-type being Krookodile.

Yup. All water, but I've made sure each one can cover multiple bases.

 

Also, as to the Pikachu not being powerful discussion, there is a held item called the Light Ball. It doubles Pikachu's attack and special attack stat, Which would bring either one over 400 on a specifically trained Pikachu. and it's base speed isn't bad either; it'll be close to 300 with EV training, or even break 300 if it has a good IV value in speed too.

 

As a side note, researching pikachu's stats made me realize it's ATK stat is actually higher than SP.ATK
