Just pace it slow

 

A majority of this takes place in the 'real world', but inside a dream. It's not like Tron where there's programs everywhere, but I did take some inspiration from it in that Indica (the computery character) refers to the main character Jay (May be a temporary name) as a user.

 

The story in a nutshell:

Jay is a writer with writers block who can't get any ideas down.

The computery character is called Indica, she's a blinking text cursor who as 'guardian of the document' is sworn to kill Jay as he had slain many previous cursors by closing the empty document window.

She doesn't want to kill Jay though, and I'm trying to figure out a reason for this and many other things.

 

That's... kinda heavy

 

I'm not really sure I can help more than throwing ideas all around in this thread, you can keep the story for now.

 

Anyway, gotta go now. My head starts to bangin' on itself

Yeah, as I said, it's weird and complicated. I'm really just looking for people to bounce my ideas off of to get some kind of opinion, because what sounds good in my head might not be so great in someone else's.

A few days ago, I was wandering around my invisible house in the dark, and I smacked my knee on the invisible table.

I've got the layout of the invisible house pretty well memorised, so it shouldn't be a problem this time.

I MUST GO, MY GARDENER NEEDS ME.

 

She's part of a computer system, so I want her to have a very cold logical feel, but I don't want the audience to hate her for killing the main character that she doesn't want to kill in the first place.

The big pain is that for this to end the way I want, she needs to befriend the main character in some way, but that's a hard thing to do due to the time constraints of a short movie.

If the main character is intelligent (not like some people I've "debated" with in my life) and makes well-thought and well-informed arguments... she might appreciate discussing with him, then regret the things they may never talk about when she kills him?

I dunno lol

Also, in my argument, I simply pointed out that the definition of "difficulty" for me included direct exposition to violence - not "you're wrong because you disagree". I get it, that's not the case in your opinion, but you didn't have to act all smug and superior about it.

I understand, because I tend to be like that sometimes. But, if I'm not mistaken, Libby's the type to be blunt funny. AKA, don't expect her to pull any punches, but I don't think she's writing to actually, you know, be arrogant. I used to think the same, but not anymore.

i started working on a cover on this thing in FL Studio last night:

 

 

i got everything nailed down til the bass guitar comes in. for some reason, the bass in my cover gets drowned out by the Sytrus synth that's in the background basically the whole song. ugh. need to find a way to work around that.

 

And coke is horrible imo. I can drink it, but I completely prefer Sprite over it anytime. I prefer Sprite over everything actually. Sprite dominates everything.

You got everything in the mixer and set accordingly?

Maybe if you set the bass guitar to just one speaker like it sounded in the song it won't fight with the synth as much?

edit: nevermind , i figured it out. i just went to the instruments and set the mixer channels to 1 and 2 respectively (for the Sytrus and the bass sound), and then it worked as intended. thanks for pointing it out to me!

You're welcome. Having it in there helps a lot more than just setting a volume on the instrument itself.

so, in semi-related news, i'm gonna install Reason on this computer, too. would be useful since i can work on my school project file at home. lets just hope THIS version of it will open my file.

 

edit: oh god, . i just found out why the bass note got drowned out for.

... i had copies of the same Sytrus note being played at the same time. =_=
