For the record, for a griffin, think of Gilda; the white part is her plumage, and the brown part is her body. Please pay close attention to her appearance. 

If you're not comfortable drawing a griffon please tell me and I'll request a pony instead.

In that case, could depict him playing an electric bass guitar? (Feel free to design the guitar however you please.)

 

I'm fine with a transparent background, unless you're feeling ambitious and would like to whip up a stage or something. Thanks!

As for pose, I suppose having Windy face forwards, straight on at the viewer and having his wings extended would be good.  As for expressions, just slap a cocky grin on his face and make him look a bit arrogant and you've got him down! You don't need to worry about drawing his whole body, just doing his upper body, head and mane would be great. Thanks man!
