Does anypony else listen to Cannibal Corpse? I feelz likez the only pony who likes them on this forum. It givez me sad Whenever I tellz somepony at school that I like them, they look at me in a weird way. And that also givez me sad My favorite songs by them are "Shredded Humans", "A Skull Full of Maggots", "Fucked with a Knife", "The Pick-Axe Murders" and "Force Fed Broken Glass" and my favorite album by them is "Eaten Back to Life".

But even on Crispy's metal thread, I'm still the only Cannibal Corpse fan on there. It tends to be more a place for progressive bands.

Thats actually kind of disheartening to hear, especially since it seems they're somewhat popular.

It's not like you're talking about so indie unknown local band or something.

Yea I know. The bands that are popular on there are usually Dream Theater, Meshuggah and Opeth (I really like Opeth by the way.)

What about Cannibal Corpse? Did you listen to them? Oh, and I'm glad you liked Opeth, they're the perfect mix of smooth and edgey.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention I gave Cannibal Corpse a listen to.

Not bad but definitely not my kind of tea from the few tracks I checked.

Since with Opeth you can kind of get a feel for what I prefer.

Uhmm... well you might like Children of Bodom. They're also one of my favorite bands. Another recommendation would be Carcass, another band that I really like.

I remember hearing about this band, never gave it a change though.. I gave it a change, it's not bad. Now I know why people listened to this at my school. Although I'm used to something a little heavier, but it's not bad, not bad at all. At least it's better then most mainstream music today. While writing this I have listened to a few, all that bothers me is that I can't understand the text, but I'm sure it's telling a better story then most songs today. Glad I finally gave it a chance, I began loving this as I listened to this: Link.

Not true.  I am a fan of Cannibal Corpse.

 

I'm not surprised you missed when people did post it (as I know I have), but I can't blame you.  287 pages of tunes is quite a lot to trudge through.

But I like the album artwork, especially the one for Tomb of the Mutilated. Chris Barnes is one of the best death metal vocalist out there.

Eh, while Cannibal Corpse seem to drown themselves out in that whole "omg look at uz wer so brootal, cuz we talk about teh blud n gutz n neekid bodies lololol" if you're able to look past that, then they're actually quite decent. Cannibal Corpse I don't dislike them because of the album artwork, or the lyrics, or the song titles. It just comes from the fact of how I'm not a huge Death Metal fan, I like Melodeath but that's about it. CC on the other hand while I can't say that I like them, I can't say that I hate them neither. I'm more of neutral with them.

 

And yes CC do have good album artwork, because it describes the music in the best way possible.

I do like Cannibal Corspe, just not as one of my favorite bands or anything. Yeah, they're death metal and yeah, I like death metal. They're really nothing special. The whole "We can sing about blood and gore and mutilation and murder and rape and that makes us so fucking brutal" doesn't always appeal to me, or most people.

 

Personally, due to the album art and the lyrical themes of their songs, I think that they're one of the bands that are the main reason why nobody takes metals seriously or gives it a chance.

The Bleeding, Tomb of the Mutilated, and Gallery of Suicide, are the only CC albums that I'm familiar with. The 3 of those albums are all okay, not the thing that I'd turn on myself, though if someone else put on a CC song then I wouldn't mind.

My favorite album by them is Eaten Back to Life. I like the sorta thrashy sound of it. Buthered at Birth is also really good, it sounds somewhat similar to Tomb of the Mutilated IMO.

Oh yeah I know Butchered at Birth. I saw that album cover as a T-Shirt while I was looking through the shirts at Rock Candy. Well I guess I'll listen to that album the next time I feel like listening to something like that.

Their first four albums are very solid, well at least they are for me. I was blasting some CC today to annoy this kid who's a rap elitist. Heheehe... I tried reasoning with him, I tried being being friendly but he backed down.

Yep that's the ordinary day for my school maybe that's because only a small percentage of the people in my school are rap elitists, one of my friends has listened to Cannibal Corpse before, I'm not too sure if he liked them or not, he just likes bringing them up while he's around me.

Eeyup, I've also blasted some Deicide and Burzum to annoy him. He starts blasting rap music, so I have to fight back. And my friend always goes on his side because he's a rap fan too. What a fucking betrayer  I wish I had more friends who were into metal.

Well when you think of it rap is a lot more popular than metal for obvious reasons, Since Dr. Dre is a lot more easier to listen to for most people rather than Burzum.
