Sugar Cube 4,843 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 I look and act like a nerd, so yeah, I'm a nerd. I like video games, computers, and kiddy cartoons that I obsess over. But, I see it as a good thing most of the time. We nerds are intelligent, are we not?
Homura Akemi 974 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 It was Nerd Day on campus today, actually. 0.o I didn't participate, though because I forgot about it. Nah. I'm an A-B student but I'm still really lazy and not-so-studious.
Keypassion 232 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 Curtis Armstrong is one of my favorite actors. He plays Dudley "Booger" Dawson in the Revenge of the Nerds film series. I know a lot of comic, anime, computer, video game, and book trivia. If that doesn't make me a nerd, then I don't know what I am. http://www.mlpchat.com
Shanks 10,816 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 I don't know, is Applejack honest? Yes I am, I don't exactly look the part but I do have a nerdy side. I still love cartoons just as much as when I was a kid as a matter of fact nearly every show I watch is animated the only things I watch that are live action is wrestling and The Walking Dead. I have been a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan since I was 6 years old, a Star Wars fan since middle school and an avid reader and history buff from a very young age. Gone Airbourne 21,977 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 I hate it when someone labels another by a title. What the heck is making fun of others by labeling them as a "nerd" for whatever stupid reason? I have always been sickened by hearing others call people names in school and giving them a hard time. If you are a "nerd" you are a smart individual take pride and ignore what others tell/think of you. They can rot for all I care.
Le Kvlt Dawn 2,364 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 (edited) Me a nerd? Hmm... let me see. I'm smarter than average, I like writing, I HATE reading but I like writing essays and poems. I've watched a little bit of anime but, I don't watch it very often. I haven't played Pokemon in a while and I'm really good at Pokemon, I know how to EV train and breed. I listen to a lot of music, mostly metal. So, I guess not. Haha, you guys are eggheads. Keep in mind though; labels are for soup cans , not people. EP1C N3RD 45 April 16, 2013 Author Share April 16, 2013 I personally love to read about history and it is one of my hobbies to read about. Even though none of my friends like ponies one of them is a history guy and I always talk about history with him. Unlike most kids who like rap i like to listen to rock like rammstein( this is kinda of weird but I like to listen to mexican spanish music. Like the regional ones. Im somewhat smart I generally get a b average but this is due to my general laziness( because my meds make me feel really sleepy. Otherwise it would be all a's ( I have gotten all a's in the past before). I feel I should have the word Introvert instead of nerd but I figured I would get more replies if I used the word nerd so sorry about using the word ''nerd''

Harmonic Revelations 8,835 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 I'm a huge nerd and geek. I love learning, and have always found it easy. Straight A student who never got in trouble right here. As for video games, I have memorized the Latin names of all the different species in Halo, if that says anything about how I spend my time. Golurk 468 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 Holy Sweet Celestia, science nerd inbound. Mostly dealing with biological, but a bit of nearly everything fits under my hydrophobic umbrella. Although, I'm not the best with computers, so don't expect to see me coding stuff. In fact, you'd be much more likely to see me modifying a bacteria or similar than coding a program. A lot less complicated in my mind. Indeed.
crazitaco 596 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 (edited) yeah, i'm a nerd. i mean come on......liking my little pony is pretty nerdy on its own. don't lie to yourselves but hey there's nothing wrong with being nerdy! i also am on the computer almost all the time, play video games, like cartoons/anime on very rare occasions, rarely go out, don't drink do drugs or party, don't really date, try to do my best in school, and am socially awkward. also, i tend to have weird interests/hobbies. atleast i'm not a lonely nerd though, i have my fellow nerds to hang out with Edited April 16, 2013 by crazitaco 1 *Click the picture to join the Nega-Bronies!* "Every cloud has a silver lining" *except for the mushroom-shaped ones which have a lining of Caesium-127, Strontium-90 and other radioactive isotopes. Thrashy 2,800 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 Used to be a video game nerd myself, but then I converted to music nerd. It seems my friends and I are constantly throwing around musical terms in public, like: "Dude, the legato run you did for the guitar solo was figgin' sweet! It made the underlying 7th chords sound even sexier than they already were." "Yeah, I figured it would make for a nice contrast to the previous section with the descending sweep arpeggios, plus sliding into that B flat near the end kind of left it hanging on the leading tone so it gave a very minute sense of dissonance as the progression resolved back to the tonic." ...As you can imagine, we get some odd looks from nearby strangers. rcollinz13 428 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 If you think about it logically, everyone is a nerd. Jocks are sports nerds, gamers are video game nerds, musicians are band geeks, and so on. However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a nerd or a geek if anything it makes you a more interesting person. Think about it, nerds are the kind of people that write these stories that entertain thousands of people. They are the kind of people that create forums like this so that nerds alike can flock to this website and share our common interests with each other. Finally, nerds are the same kind of people that create video games, social networking, and the technology that we use. If you ask me I would rather be weird than normal, because normal just isn't exciting enough.

TwilizzleFoShizzle 95 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 (edited) Quickly every nerd!!! Present a code you know!! <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"/> <title>Hello there!</title> </head> <body> <p>Hello every NERD!!!! How is everybody doing tonight. Me? Well I'm trying to see if I can get this code to work on this forum. Show me a code in any language you know.</p> </body> </html> I dont know how I am supposed to draw logic gates in a text based forum post... I invented a cool language though using NOR gates... you basically separate 3 variables with spaces, the first 2 being the inputs for the NOR gate and the 3rd being the output... anything where the variable is 0 represents a constant low bit, and any non zero integer is a regular variable. the letter "i" followed by a number is an input variable and the letter "o" followed by a number is an output variable. Since I never really felt like making anything out of this code I don't have a very good example but I suppose here is a basic adder code, i1 i2 and i3 are inputs, one of which is carry in (but they are interchangable obviously), o1 and o2 are outputs, o2 being carry out (not interchangable). 0 i1 1 0 i2 2 1 2 3 0 3 4 0 4 5 24 5 6 i1 i2 7 0 7 8 0 i3 9 0 6 10 9 10 11 0 11 12 0 12 13 0 16 14 i3 6 15 0 15 16 18 19 17 20 21 18 22 23 19 0 2 20 0 1 21 0 i3 22 0 6 23 0 8 24 14 13 o1 0 17 o2. The code could be simplified by finding outputs with identical inputs and merging them but it took almost an hour to get the code working as is, I hand drew a basic adder with only NOR gates and assigned a variable to each wire. Then I just worked my way through all the standard variables until I reached my highest (24) and then did the outputs. I still havent actually made a way to decode this type of code any better than with just drawing a bunch of NOR gates and connecting them with their respective input and output lines by hand but whatever, its a cool language. I can only imagine the fun of a mockup memory array XD so yeah digital logic woohoo Do I win the nerd award? Gay Bird 421 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 I guess alot of people would consider me somewhat extremely nerdy about particular subjects that the average person wouldn't understand. Basically yes. But that doesn't mean I'm unattractive and forever alone, I'm the complete opposite. I know many programming languages, I fix everyone's computers, I've memorized about 70 digits of pi, the list goes on. I'm a nerd and I'm proud! Together we already rule the world! Righteous Fury 344 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 I'd say I'm a nerd. Kind of, anyway. Never got into comic books or P&P RPGs, and I'm not that fond of Star Trek. So I'm not a shining example of nerdom, but I'd say I meet the basic criteria.
Champion RD92 8,658 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 To be honest, I've never really thought of myself as a nerd. I mean I like video games and I spend quite a bit of time on the internet (mainly MLP Forums and Youtube), but I don't really dress like a nerd or act like one either I don't think. I always thought of myself as just a regular guy I suppose.

D1SC0RD 987 April 16, 2013 Share April 16, 2013 Hm, I am confused. Are we talking nerds or geeks? A lot of the posts on here kinda sound more geeky than nerdy. I think I am a bit nerdy though, but not so much that I am a textbook case. Yes, my greatest interest is science and I absolutely LOVE school. I am taking all the advanced science and math courses available to me, and still I manage to keep all my grades above a 90%. I'm also attending math camp this summer. On top of these things, at school I am a self proclaimed loner who would love nothing more to than to sit in the library alone and do homework. However, what makes me maybe "un-nerdy" is the fact that I do not get picked on. I've heard that is pretty common thing to happen to the bookish kids, but at my school the studious are very well respected. I don't much get a chance to be on my own because a lot of my classmates think we are pals just because we are all pursuing academics. It's become a sort of clique, but the really obnoxious kind where you pretty much need to meet the prerequisites before you can join (though grades is just one of several requirements it would seem). So I have plenty of "friends", but I would rather if we were just acquaintances. So yeah. Nerd who is appreciated. I'm sure it's not that uncommon though.
