You see,i've been always an enthusiast of Pixar animated films. When Cars 2 came,i was quite disappointed. Then,Brave came.I never watched it and only saw the trailers. While i think it is a pretty good film,i have read the reviews and not all of them are favorable. So,this makes me wonder,is Pixar's creativity fading away? What do you say?

I believe no. Sure Cars 2 was bad, and Brave was bad that doesn't mean it's loosing it's touch.

Monster University is coming out in a month or two, so that will be awesome. Find Dory is gonna be sweet.

Just cause a company has one or two flops doesn't mean it's loosing it's touch. It means that it's experimenting which is good for a company.

Yes they are. Like Disney channel, Pixar is getting stupid. Pixar just ended the Toy Story franchise, and made a sequel to something that doesn't need a sequel!

Like the Nostalgia Critic said. INCREDIBLES WAS MADE TO HAVE SEQUELS! MAKE A SEQUEL TO THAT!

Sadly, I think they are.  They have a movie coming out called Planes.  Yes, Planes.  >_> From what I heard Cars 2 was bad and Brave wasn't that great (like you're all saying).  They're making way too many sequels.  If they're going to make one, please, make Incredibles 2 already!!!

No way! I love pixar! They pump out so many movies that it would be a MIRACLE for their content to be 100% perfection. Keep movies like Up in mind and you will be reminded that the company can come up with masterpieces.

Keep in mind; the reason you are feeling let down with some pixar content is because you KNOW they are capable of doing better... I have faith in them for this reason.

Oh, and any pixar movie i didn't like was still pretty good. I guess I'm just a bad critic.

Edit: I guess Wreck it Ralph wasn't pixar. Removed that mention.

Sadly, I think they are.  They have a movie coming out called Planes.  Yes, Planes.

Actually, planes is just a Disney Animation film and is not associated with Pixar. While it's the same world as Cars, it's not made by the same people. Don't give blame to the wrong people.

I'd just say that Pixar has run out of fresh ideas. Many of the movies we've come to love from them we're all planned at a lunch during the making of Toy Story. They've used up all those stories and are like "now what?" If anything, Pixar is going through the same thing Disney went through and I'd argue the whole movie industry is going through right now. They're focused on what will "do well" as apposed to what would make a great movie. "Well, people liked Cinderella, lets make a second one!" "People liked the Hanghover, lets make it over again!" "People like movies with CGI, lets focus more on that instead of how the story goes!" The core of the movie is the story. If the story fails, the whole movie goes with it. You also need good characters with depth and emotion that people can relate to.

I have faith that Pixar can make a come back. Give em a few years and they'll really shine again. It's never the beginning of the end. Sometimes, people just lose sight of what's important.

I'm starting to lose my faith in Pixar.  The past two Disney animations have been great (Tangled and Wreck It Ralph), while the past two Pixar films have been lackluster to be nice.  As others have said The Incredibles needs a frickin sequel.  I have a problem with Cars, Monsters Inc, and FINDING NEMO?!?!?! getting sequels before The Incredibles.  I at least give them credit they didn't lose Nemo again, but come on.... there's little they can do in a Finding Nemo sequel that isn't a rehash of the previous movie with different characters.

The buzz on Monsters U. has been pretty good so far. Even if it isn't an emotional roller coaster of pure fantastical delight, it could be awesome.

Brave was really disappointing (yet somehow robbed Paranorman of the Oscar it deserved) and Cars 2 was mediocre (better than the first, though), but I have faith that Pixar still have it in them. They've more then earned the benefit of the doubt.

Toy Story is the greatest movie of all time. At least for me.

Yes, but only because Pixar set the bar ridiculously high for themselves. I've got no problem with them losing a little lustre here and there if they're still putting a lot of effort into their films, which they are.

When I went to the theatre to see The Incredibles, the audience was in awe. There's no other way to describe their reaction. Myself, I don't want to see a sequel to that film. It stands by itself extremely well and, though I'm sure someone could come up with a good storyline for a second movie, the story and plot of the original made it special.

On a side note, I give kudos to Disney for Tangled, Wreck-it Ralph and Bolt. Cross-collaboration between the two houses has turned out some great work.

Cars 2 would have been good if the world wasn't the same as Cars 1. The film was in a completely different direction as the first movie save for the characters and I think people were throne off by that.

I thought Cars 2 was fine. Brave I was more disappointed with. It definitely wasn't bad but I didn't like it better than any of the other Pixar films.

@@Windwaker,

You do realize that Incredibles is having a sequel, don't you?

So far, no, I don't truly believe so. Brave was really good (Though I still believe Paranorman deserved that Oscar, the animation put into Paranorman was really freakin' good), I never really liked the original cars so i'm biased about Cars 2, and  I enjoyed Monsters U. It was a very nice prequel.

Pixar is still pretty good, it just has some better movies than others.

Well, imo after the Incredibles (excluding Wall-E, TS3, and MU) it started going downhill for me.

I think I'm one of the few who absolutely adored Cars, haha. :P

Yeah, some movies are better than others, but that happens when your movie library expands. I'm eagerly anticipating whatever else they have up their sleeves!

The only movie I've disliked from Pixar was Cars 2(I'm surprised not many people like Brave, I thought it was a great movie).

Granted, I haven't seen Monsters U yet

It just seems like to me that they are overworking/being forced to pump out more squeals then then would like. Movies like planes (and its sequel). When it comes to original IP's and sequels they had already planed, Pixar still seems to hold a good chunk of that magic, all they have done really is proved that like anyother group of humans they can and will eventually fail.
