Ocean chuckled. "Its not really mine. I got the funding from a large museum in Manehattan. I showed them some artifacts I have picked up over the years and...well, everything fit together, so they agreed to pay for the expedition." She said, turning around so her back was to the dome. "I am beginning to wonder whether we should just start the briefing now."

 "Ice" she replied after a few moments of thinking "I dont know, myself. Life in the frostback mountains and focusing my magic on a particular element, I guess. As far as I know this is the result of several years of that. The healthier and...more powerful I feel, the more mist there seems to be. I don't feel it, and often forget about it unless I think" she let out a quiet grunt, being a little uneasy about the topic, but she wasn't going to ignore a question for no good reason. She fell silent afterwards, suddenly not feeling much like talking. 

 

After a short while of silent walking and looking around intently observing her surroundings, she found herself standing on a walkway over a rather large drop. Stopping and stepping to the side, she gestured for Lila to walk ahead. "It's probably best for you to go first."

Lila pondered this. It seemed interesting to her and wondered why her hooves weren't like that. She didn't speak again until Frostbite gestured her forward. "Hehe, long drop." she nervously stated as she began to trot forward. It wasn't much longer after that, that they reached the bridge.

(so im not sure if the two ponies are still on the walkway or...what's going on. So i'm just going to leave it open...)

 

Frostbite waited a moment before she followed, taking the time to look around the room...it was huge for the most part. Even the tiny walkway was surprisingly roomy, glass windows at one end of the room, metal plates and several machines at the other on walkways attached to the walls. There was one occasion where she found herself catching a glimpse of a certain ponies flank too...but none of that was of any concern to her, she was heading to the center platform where there where already several ponies gathering around.

 

(So...she's either walking there or she's there - depends if anyone wants to interact with her at all or not, completely your choice)

"Personally, I'm not minding anything. You could start it for all I care. Anyways, the dome around this submersible is astounding, but... ehh. I don't find it beautiful. Mainly this whole place is nice, but it's not my cup of tea. Nothing is my cup of tea...", Fuse grimaced, looking onto the bridge, then back at the dome.

((You do know the dome is like a window at the front...right ? It just kinda sounded like you meant it was surrounding the whole sub))

Ocean raised an eyebrow. "For some reason I feel like its gonna take allot to impress you. And I am going to start." She said, turning away from the dome to face the rest of the bridge.
"Excuse me everypony, if I may have your attention for a moment." She said, trotting over to a rollup screen in the corner of the room.
She unrolled the screen then gestured for the expedition crew who were in the Bridge to come over.

This woke MacHayver up from his nap. He bolted upright. Crap crap crap crap crap! I'm late for some meeting!

 

He jumped up, looked in the mirror, and straigtened out his uniform. He quickly bolted out to the meeting, where he saw everypony assembled.

 

He found a nearby unicorn...well, used-to-be-unicorn, as his horn seemed broken. He leaned over and whispered, "What have I missed? Anything important?"

Paradox blushed a bit when he realised that he had just been staring at her flank and looked off to the side. "I'm Paradox. Dox for short, if you want. And it seems that we're going to be roomma-" But his talking was cut off by the diving announcement and the lurch downwards, which sent him sprawling on the floor, his belonings falling with him. "Owww... That was not fun..."

Fuse's voice had softened once gearing the whispers. "You just made it to the briefing on what we're doing here. Now, can you kindly hush up? I'm wanting to listen to this as much as possible.", he had rudely told him.

"Mhmm.. You say so yourself."

Moon was halfway from the ground and from the ceiling, as when the sub started to dive she quickly started to fly upward to make sure she didn't fall. Of course, with Paradox being a Unicorn, there wasn't much of a way to help him.

Instead though, she came back down and brought him back to his feet again.

 

"It didn't seem liked that hurt-" But she interrupted herself with a great yawn. A few moments later, she quickly continued her sentence. "-very much so you'll be fine."

 

Just after that though, the intercom went off to call all Ponies to the bridge for a meeting. In which, Moon quickly fixed her hair again and decided to dash out of the room without waiting.

But, knowing that she did that, her pace slowed down to reply to Paradox

"Hey! You coming?"

Sheesh, seems like she's a little hyper...

 

"Yeah, I'll be right there!" He gathered up all of his belonings and tossed them onto his bed, then walked ourt behind Moon. "Here I am, don't worry." He chuckled a little. "So, Moon Wave... I'm just wondering, but what does your cutie mark stand for? Does it mean, like, you stay up all night to study moon and ocean relationships or something?" He hoped to Celestia that it wasn't, he was a very light sleeper, and if this mare stayed up at night, he wouldn't get any sleep at all.

 

They walked down the hallway and finally arrived at the doors to the main bridge. It was huge, with a spectacular view of the ocean from the giant glass bubble encasing more than half of the room. And there were many ponies here, some standing in a group, some off to the side at a table with maps and machines, and others at computers. One in particular caught his eye. "That pony is playing Galaga." He pointed to one of the stallions sitting at a computer terminal who quickly faced him. "Thought we wouldn't notice. But we did." He walked over to the rest of the group. In the mean time, the pony playing Galaga got back to his game.

While both were walking, she was actually interested in answering Paradox's question since near no one asks about her cutie mark.

 

"My cutie mark was related to my two favourite things, which of course is the Moon and the ocean.. You are close to correct though. I do stay up all night watching either one of the two. Of course, it usually IS the moon since where I live now im quite far from the ocean."

 

As both walked up to the bridge, she was amazed at how big the submarine looked from inside. The glass dome was the most amazing thing to her, since she could see all the fish under water and see how blue it is without getting all wet or holding your breath.

 

"Though now, I feel quite happy. It keeps calling me every day im away from it, and now im back.."

"Well, all in all, that seems interesting enough." He yawned and sat in a nearby chair. "Geez, I'm tired. Why they had to make us get up while we were in the middle of sleeping, I'll never know. But, we're here anyways, so, let's get this meeting started, shall we?" He looked over at Ocean, who still hadn't explained anything from the moment he and Moon had walked into the bridge. "So, what's the plan, cheif?"

Lost Knowledge had remained quiet so far, and didn't intend to be speaking unless spoken to anytime soon. He'd rather take his time getting to know these ponies before talking to them much. It made his job as a doctor easier if emotional attachments didn't get in the way. He walked over to where the briefing was being held and look towards their leader expectantly.

Ocean noticed a couple ponies turn in her direction...but not approached. "Uh...so I guess I will start." She said, picking up a small remote with her magic. It turned on a small slide machine and a picture flashed onto the roll up screen,...a picture of a simple book.

 

"Okay...we will start at the beginning. Thanks to this book...we have discovered many clues on how to get to Atlantis. The coordinates. their writing...many things. One of those things was...a protector." She flipped to the next slide showing what looked like a giant squid or something. "We're guessing some sort of statue marking the entrance to the cave we are diving too. It probably sank down with the rest of the city. The very few submarines that have been here have sent reports of eerie shadows around the rocks. Now onto the sub's that have actually come here...most of them usually send up a report and...are never heard from again. But one actually came back...four crew members had died being thrown around inside. Not to scare you or anything. This is probably happening because of deep under water currents, or allot of the time...the crew members are clumsy and end up driving the whole sub into the side of the rocks. These subs are all allot smaller than this one of course...this sub was built to take a beating and its engines are powerful enough to withstand a tsunami. Now, onto the cave."

She flipped the slide to a simple map of an under water cave. 

"Its much like a sink...or something. We will anchor the submarine above the cave entrance and take the smaller pods down into the cave. If everything goes as planned...we will come up into an under water air pocket and a nice open space to start the expedition. Are there any questions before I continue ?" She finished speaking and gave the ponies in the room a small smile.

"She's straight to the point... I ki da like that. But we're not here for romance."

"My name is Nightfall Starline, but seriously, you only need to call me Nightfall."

He glanced at her with the corner of his eye, and saw a different than normal pair of wings.

"And you?"

Cascade's smile faltered slightly when the colt's eyes glanced back towards her wings, but it reappeared within seconds, when Nightfall declined comment. "I'm Cascade." Her flippers shuffled slightly, involuntarily. "So what's your job here, Nightfall?"

A lighter blue pony stepped up and faced Ocean. She still appeared tired, but on the inside she was ready to go.

 

"I have two, in fact." She replied in a casual tone.

 

"Both questions are linked together in fact.. But how many smaller pods do we have, and how many ponies will be in each?"

"We have two types of pods. One is larger which carries our machinery...trucks, the digger...things like that. that kinda carries eight ponies. Then there are the smaller ones which carry supplies...those carry about twelve ponies. The larger ones have less room because they have larger things. We will be entering the cave with a group of about sixty ponies." She replied. "You must be Moon Wave..."

Dox listened intently for the first few minutes... Then got extremely bored. He got up from his chair and began to wander around the bridge, finally ending up staring out the large dome. He watched as the little fish swam by and saw it was getting darker and darker. Strange fish began to appear. "Ok, those are wierd..." He turned away and headed to the computer with the Galaga playing pony. "Mind if I have a go?" He sat down and began to play.

She gave a small smile. "Indeed I am."

 

Then Moon replied back.

"You must be the leader of our expedition if I can recall.."

With saying that though, she had to stop and think for a moment or two. But eventually she came up with a few words to say.

 

"I, cant quite remember what your name is. Do you mind telling me again?"

Frostbite had been listening closely - or at least what she considered closely, before she noticed her mane was a mess and got herself distracted. "I have a question...do we have any mirrors on board this thing?" she piped up, fiddling with her mane as she spoke "and what are expected to find inside the city, if we do actually find it? We're bringing heavy machinery like that along, this is more than a simple jotting down of notes."

Ocean smiled. "My name is Ocean Wind. It's nice to officially meet you Moon Wave. And there are mirrors in your room's." She said, turning to face the mare who had just spoke. "I believe the most we will actually find in the city would be...well, anything. Scrolls, books, maybe bodies that we could study. And...I suppose this is where I continue with the slides." She flipped through the slides until she reached one of something that seemed to be a bright blue star. "This is believed to be some sort of power source. Atlantis was a very advanced civilization. They had light's, vehicles, and many other things. This is what we hope to find...or maybe some information on what it really was." She said.

Cascade's smile faltered slightly when the colt's eyes glanced back towards her wings, but it reappeared within seconds, when Nightfall declined comment. "I'm Cascade." Her flippers shuffled slightly, involuntarily. "So what's your job here, Nightfall?"

 

He chuckled.

"Engineer. I'm here to see that all the engines hold up and to make sure that if we are struck by something, or the walls are breached, that nothing bad happens to anything we need."

He smiled as he neared the bridge doors.

"And what about you, Cascade?"

She was partially shocked at hearing what Ocean spoke of. To hear that Atlantis has much more advanced technology would make the expedition much more risky when they even got to the city.

 

"Wait.. If Atlantis has better things then us and that they're hidden, wouldn't you think that if they wanted to stay hidden then they can off us whenever they feel like it?"

 

This is what got Moon Wave thinking a little. Maybe the other ponies before them had what she said happened. Though it may be false, because their reports were before they found the city.

 

"I cant really think, but... That may have to be one of the risks we need to take seriously."

He smiled as he neared the bridge doors.

"And what about you, Cascade?"

"Me? Oh, I just play with the fish and the plankton and the sharks and stuff. Sometimes I even write stuff about them down." She emitted a short giggle, then said, somewhat more seriously, "I just study the marine life, that's all. Nothing really important." She shrugged, and mashed a button that opened the heavy doors that led to the bridge.
