The video that feld0 made showing how to report a user, uses the word "Dick" which, by my standards is a ( and quote) " inappropriate and not safe for work " word. I am now confused as to what the definition of a "inappropriate and not safe for work " discussion or word is. I under stand that the video was not in the chat, however that video is public (and somewhat advertised) and can be viewed by the members of the community "as young as eleven and twelve years old " Don't. Just don't. You don't want to start a flame war with the Admin. Here, I'll help you. /me takes a fire extinguisher and puts out flames. Ok. Problem solved. EDIT: Ninjas... FLARE 952 February 8, 2012 Share February 8, 2012 The odd expletive every now and again for the sake of emphasis or light hearted comedic effect (such as Feld0's video) is fine. But when such words are over-utilised, or used in inappropriate contexts, such as thinly veiled sexual remarks and the like, then we have a problem. Overall, it all just comes down to common sense; there's a time and a place for everything, foul language included. While we do regard this as an all ages community, for the sake of avoiding an over-controlling set of rules, we allow a bit of 'love and tolerance' towards strong language, so to speak. He's merely pointing out something that confuses him. Should we go off of our better judgment and common sense or is there a kind of universal "green light" we should go by? As a general rule: If in doubt, send in a report. The way the report system is structured makes it pretty tricky to completely inundate us in reports, and each individual report is looked at in context before any decision is made. Additionally, there's no penalty for sending in a report that we ultimatley deem to be of little concern; we'd rather have a few more false alarms, than have report-worthy issues go unnoticed. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

On the tenth, I can finally go back into the chat without having to endure the constant failed attempts of trolling from little kids! But as it is clearly stated that younger people go on I feel bad when I post something carelessly. Continuing on that point, my little brother, themamasboy1111, talks on the chat from time to time and he IS 11! I must say that some people do take things the wrong way sometimes though... If a dispute arises in the chat-room again, first trying to remind them of this, as well as "If it's controversial, don't post it here", and if that fails, reporting time I guess... Last word of advice: Keep an open mind. What one person meant may be different from how you perceived it... 2 I am prone to leaving both short and long posts as well as with my profile feed... The chat suspensions we issue are determined by the nature of the offence. We are a forum, afterall, not just a chatroom. I think Feld0 would be sorta displeased that he (Alongside Kurtiss) worked pretty hard to create and maintain these forums, only to have the chatbox be the centre of attention. Also, a good thing to include in a report from the chatbox would be a screenshot or two, of what you see to be inappropriate. I'm pretty sure they can make it a bit easier for the mods to find what they need, in order to deal with what needs to be dealt with. (For those who don't know, just push that little button called "Prt sc" or "Print Screen" takes the screenshot [you may only have one at a time, it's like copy] and open up MS paint [pretty sure a majority of us have it] and Ctrl V [or paste] onto the canvas. Save the image, and upload it to an image hosting website [i like to use imgur.com] and right click and copy the "Direct Image" link, and include that in a report. I believe that could help your report, and make it easier for mods [but this is unconfirmed] ) 6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You got a problem with blank flanks?
