The MLP Forums chatroom is currently closed

Conduct in the chatroom room lately has, in one word, sucked. There have been inappropriate and not safe for work discussions left and right, countless arguments and flame wars, and more drama than I care to discuss. Either this ends, or the chat ends.

We have members as young as eleven and twelve years old in this community - chat discussions should stay at a level that is reasonably appropriate for them.

The MLP Forums chatroom will return on Friday, February 10th.

If there is trouble in the chat and no staff members are available to deal with it, simply follow these directions and FILE A REPORT.

• Click the offending user's avatar in the user list on the right-hand side of the window to reach their profile.
• When you've reached their profile, look to the bottom right-hand side of the window for the 'Report this User' button.
• Give a brief explanation of the user's conduct. Include a general time that the incident occurred, as well as any relevant text snippets you may have available. Press submit.

We even put a video demo together of the report filing process - it takes less than 40 seconds!

All reports will be reviewed and acted on appropriately; if you think something is borderline, report it - it's better for us to know about it and not need to act on it, than to not know about something that we would have acted on.

If you value the continued existence of the chatroom please help us keep it clean. Every time you fail to report inappropriate behavior, a Fluttershy cries. Think of the Fluttershys.

This is the Worst possible thing! not to sound like Rarity. I actually just broke up an RP so i kinda feel like this is my fault. i really hope teaches some ponies that the chat can be closed if they misbehave themselfves. (yes i am doing a spell check this time)

Meh, I gradually stopped entering the chats because it was getting too hard to hold legitimate discussions the larger it expanded and the larger the site expanded with new members. Sometimes it got too fast moving and too spammy. Not going to lose any sleep over this.

It's the internet...and apparently, no matter how hard we try and keep people on the straight and narrow, they just don't seem to get it. I do hope that by the time 10 Feb happens, I'm no longer a blank flank and can participate therein--as that's one of the things I've desired to do throughout the fandom--realtime interaction with others, helping out and having fun! I live pretty far away from major cities, and this is basically the only outlet I have. Hopefully the offenders will be dealt with, the mods and admin will try and come up with something else that works, and we can all get back to happy fun Pony time.

I feel kind of guilty for joining on some of those inappropriate chats. It's somewhat my fault as well. Although, I'm pretty sure I can stop doing that and RPing in a non-RPing chatbox. And, I should report it more. Honestly, I usually hope those little absurdities are short, but sometimes they're not. I get annoyed by that but I shouldn't complain becasuse I should have reported, instead of complaining to the perpetuator.

 

Also, there were flame wars? I never saw those in the Chat before. I did see arguments, but suprisingly, they were resolved civilly.

You missed the part where after being the only one who wasn't kicked, I said **leaves** and I got the hell outta there.

 

Dang, why does everything happen when I'm distracted by something? I did try my best to monitor the chat... but I guess uh... sometimes that isn't enough. Although I've barely been a monitor for that long. I can completely see why though. I mean, the chat has been getting unruly as one pony said with the newer members. I do hope it returns as I have made some friends from it, and have gotten to know people. I just think that a redefining of the rules, making them stricter and more specific, and less vague, is necessary. And I will uphold them the best I can when the chat returns. If it does.
