The Weird and Exciting Ways Bronies Eat their Food!

There was an electrical fire at my school and I'm left with nothing to do today, so I thought this would be a fun thread.

Tell me about the most peculiar/particular ways you eat your food or the strangest meal you've ever made! It would be even better if you could provide photos or illustrations but that's totally up to you.

*Personally, I put sriracha and garlic on almost everything. I even put Sriracha on dark chocolate once. It was stoned illiterate (AKA full of regret) so it was alright but a bit too salty. I think I was hoping to recreate the amazing taste sensation of Mexican Chocolate, but it tasted a lot more like gross with a pleasant spicy tingle in the back of my throat.

*If I decide to get store-bought chicken nuggets for some crazy reason, they have to be dinosaur-shaped. There's no way around it. The only thing that can make them edible is the fantasy of eating dinosaurs.

*i always bite the heads off my gummy bears first. So typical, I assume everyone does it.

*i never, ever, ever eat the ends of a sushi roll. It's way too much seaweed, just a little bit of rice and not enough of WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT. It's like serving donut holes except sushi ends are not delicious nor are they one of my favorite things ever. (FYI- no, I don't like California rolls, but only because I'm allergic to avacados... And live in SoCal.... FML).

*Once an old friend and I made one of the heaviest, most amazing sandwiches ever and We called it "Hawiian Trailer Trash Plate Lunch Breakfast Sandwhich of Secretive Self Loathing" AKA HTTPLBSoSSL!

It consisted of:

*2 slices of white bread

*2 pan-fried Spam slices (I hate spam btw)

*2 fried eggs, slightly runny

*2 slices of cheddar cheese

*1 tablespoon of macaroni salad

*sriracha

And I grilled it with mayo instead of butter :D

It was surprisingly good and very hard to cram in my maw. Just describing it kind of makes me want to puke right now, though.

tl;dr

What are weird eating habits you have/food things you are particular about/crazy food things you like to make yourself?

For me the weirdest thing I guess I ate is actually a tie between two foods which were eaten both in the same place within a week of each other.  It was shark or vegemite.  Both on opposite ends of the taste spectrum.  Shark was VERY yummy while vegemite (which I'm convinced for life is actually dog food for cats) was very bad and left a horrid aftertaste in my mouth.

When I ate the shark I had more and enjoyed myself and I was swallowing it whole in hopes of getting more (after the initial taste of course).  The dog food that is made for cats vegemite made me gag and I did baby barf (throw up in the back of my throat) and that made me upset for the rest of the day.  :c

You know those little plastic tubs of chocolate and vanilla ice cream that they give out at kids parties? I have to eat the vanilla side first. And I have to eat my M&Ms in sequential order. X_X

The weirdest food I've ever eaten? Gosh, I can't remember. It was a kind of bean that was all mashed up into a sliceable roll, and my mother fried it in butter. Tasted great, but with a very bitter kick. I remember thinking that @Circadian would be proud of me for eating it instead of the teriyaki sticks my mother also cooked. xD

The two universal condiments in my household: Parmesan cheese and green olives. As far as I'm concerned, they make nearly everything better.

As for the strangest thing I've ever made, I'd have to say the "pizzadilla." Basically, making a quesodilla, but with pepperoni, pizza sauce, green olives, and the like. I would not recommend it. It was terrible. blink.png

Indeed.

I personally I don't like olives, but that your pizzadilla just sounds like a very bad "wanna-be" mexican version of a Calzone or a stromboli!

I've heard so much about Vegemite but never actually tried it. I've heard that it's a pretty common staple of an English diet, though I've only ever seen it be made fun of on BBC and i dont even personally know anyone from the UK, so I have no idea what I'm talking about but ill take your word as a warning. :P

Also, when I was little, my dad and my brother used to go shark fishing and bring back shark meat. I have an actual phobia of sharks that prevented me from even eating them, though. I hear it's gamey.

Don't take my word as a warning, live by my word.  (No I'm not Jesus).  If I was right about one thing in this world.  It would be the putrid taste of vegemite.

HOW DO PEOPLE EAT THAT STUFF?

I've had shark too! It was actually pretty good and I seriously hate fish(unless it's fried).

I'm a picky eater but one weekend I had chili for breakfast, lunch and dinner from friday to sunday. My stomach really hated me afterwards...

Yet one of the many reasons on why I want to learn Japanese and eventually travel to Japan during one semester of school. I have a really long list. :P

One thing unique to me, at least in my family, is putting hot sauce on just about anything - on my potato chips, in my ramen, on steak, chicken strips...hell, I've even put it on bananas before.

This one's probably common, but I always have to eat the cream in the center of an Oreo before I eat the cookies. There is no other way.

I like to mix root beer and milk. It's almost like a poor man's root beer float.

One admittedly strange snack I enjoy is a pickle sandwich; a pickle sliced into quarters lengthwise, stuck between two slices of bread with a cheese slice. (I said 'slice' a lot in that sentence...huh.) And before you ask, no, I'm not pregnant. That's "pickles and ice cream" you're thinking of.

I'm totally with you on the hot sauce thing*.

I really can't get behind the pickle Sandwhich, though but that's just because I don't like pickles.

Mostly, I just wanted to tell you I feel a lot more normal since hearing about your root beer with milk in it and i wanted to share a gross stoner recipe with you.

Poor man's cherry Italian soda:

Cherry soda

Vanilla extract

Italian sweet crème coffee creamer

I love it! ^

*see: sriracha obsession :P

I used to put mustard on many of my sandwiches; I even went as far as to put it on my eggs during breakfast. I've since cut back, but mustard is still my go-to condiment.

I eat my cup ramen at room temperature.

I can't say I've eaten anything that was particularly strange (sorry, no crazy concoctions here). I did have salmon eggs at a sushi restaurant before. If you don't know, I love salmon but the I couldn't take the taste of those eggs and they were really spicy too.

I go beyond simply putting hot sauce on what I eat.  I may be addicted to spicy foods, but I also have a curious and picky taste;  I try to find ways to make things spicy and yet still taste great.  Saracha definitely a go-to condiment for anything involving meat.  Pickled peppers instead of just pickles for sandwiches and burgers.  Eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast goes great with some Louisiana hot wing sauce.  Cayenne is perfect for adding heat without much in terms of flavor.  Anything sweet goes great with a very sweet hot pepper such as a habanero, especially fruit and chocolate.  And on occasion when I enjoy Ghost Chilies, which have a very unique taste likened to Doritos, they always go in my ramen and wings, and strangely go great with a strong cheese.

As for crazy foods, I haven't eaten much.  I've done a few suicides, (a little bit of every drink you can get from a soda dispenser in the same cup) some foreign chocolate that had salt and licorice in it, strange smoothies and the like.  I once had cinnamon and sugar coated hot dogs (interesting flavor), boiled octopi (took forever to eat), and candy so acidic it made my mouth bleed. (Toxic Waste... Eat your heart out Warheads)

Though I do wish I could try three things: Chocolate coated bacon, deep fried bacon, and bacon ice-cream.  Yes, three way heart attack right there, but just the idea of those make my mouth water...

Haven't eaten much weird food??? It looks to me like you take the cake (pun sort of intended)! And that chocolate actually sounds really good. It sounds like Norwegian candy.

Now I'm off to try suicide; I've never heard it called that before but I'm curious now!

You remember those little crappy square pizzas from back in grade school? And the trays it came in? Well, I used to fill up one of the spots on the tray with ranch, roll up the pizza, and dip it. Even today, even though I don't eat pizza with ranch anymore, I still fold all my pizza slices New York-style, even though I'm in Chicago, and if the pizza is in little squares.

Probably the nastiest thing I've ever eaten is the...McGangBang. A Double Cheeseburger with a McChicken stuffed in between. I did it one more time using a Big Mac instead of the Double Cheeseburger and I called it the Big Bang. One of my friends combined a Fillet O'Fish, a McChicken, and a Double Cheeseburger into something called the "Land, Air, and Sea" burger.

I haven't eaten like that in a LONG time.

In fact, what's weird is probably what I DON'T eat: I got through freshman year of college without eating a single cup of Ramen. :/

I am from Wisconsin (american state), and I fall heavily into the "cheese-head" stereotype....there has yet to be cheese I've tasted and haven't liked and I'd say my favorite is swiss, but it's pretty much tied with Limburger (mind bad spelling).

I don't eat ramen with the flavor packets, instead, I drain out all the water, and load it up with butter and Parmesan cheese....yummm...makes me want it just thinking about it.

I substitute salt for garlic....I LOVE garlic and sage, and almost everything I add garlic to, I also add sage

the weirdest thing I ate....probably a chicken head that the Hmong of my old church made for a potluck....not too thrilling but I won't eat it again...

One of the wierdest things I eat, and really like, is Blue Buffalo cat food....After I feed my cat, sometimes I pop a few pieces myself...it's like a meaty snack food...I only eat the high end cat foods (no corn, soy, gluten, coloring, or by-products) since the cheap stuff actually tastes like cardboard (no wonder why cats don't like it either)

Thanks to having taken a full survivor course at one point, I've deliberately eaten insects, worms, and the like. Not something I ever want to do again.

I've had a variety of weird meats thanks to curiosity, including snake, turtle, frog, and alligator. Basically amphibians are extremely oily, and lizards only slightly better.

I always like going to the various cultural markets wherever I happen to be to see what they're selling as food. Usually someone there has some cooked versions, which is good because some things have to have a very specific way of cooking to be edible.

As for 'strange' things I do that most of my friends don't understand: My family is Scots, Irish and English, so I grew up eating blood pudding, haggis (which is just sausage with oatmeal in it), trotters, oxtail, tongue, etc.

Plus I have a different view on mustard than most people in this area. English mustard and Chinese mustard are very similar. Nothing like the 'yellow' mustard you normally get over here.

Oh, and I really like Branston pickle. It's basically a chunky dark relish made from a variety of vegetables with Worcestershire sauce added. It goes really good on cheese sandwiches.

I have some kind of strange fixation with toasted bread. I refuse to start my day without a lightly toasted bread. The funny thing is, I actually haven't eaten an actual toast in years now; I always just slice some bread rolls and force them into my deluxe awesome (old and crappy) toaster. I think that actual toasted toast is flavorless.

I really haven't eaten anything spectacularily weird in my life time. Probably the weirdest was that one meatloaf I made. I had a lot of leftovers left in my fridge, so I just mixed all kinds of things with minced meat and breadcrumps. I think there was some chicken, some pork, some meatballs pretty sure I sliced and diced some wieners in there as well. Was surprisingly good. At least untill I had actually digested it. That wasn't fun.

I eat Cheese Grits with pepper and hot sauce, kinda weird, I guess. I also put honey in my coffee, I read it in a book that it was good, so I tried i out and it isn't bad.

I like cheeseburgers with just cheese and meat.

I like coffee with milk and six sugars.

One of my favorite dinners is pasta with cheese, ham, carrot and peas.

Vegemite is my favorite thing on toast (Aussie talking here!)
