How Did You Favorite Background Pony Become Your Favorite Background Pony?

There are a lot of background ponies and many of whom have been given some compelling back stories by the fans and many of us have a favorite, in my case my favorite background pony is Derpy. I may have missed the initial excitement when the Derpy controversy first broke but when I first got into the show and saw both the original and edited version of Derpy's speaking role in The Last Roundup I knew which side I was on. I soon read a lot of fanfics with Derpy in them and saw quite a few videos by youtube user balddumborat and really fell in love with Derpy, Derpy not only had that same "daawww she is so adorable" effect that Fluttershy and the CMC have on quite a few fans but I also like the idea of Derpy.

 

As an adult with Autism I know what it is like to be singled out for being different and though I acknowledge that it hasn't been confirmed one way or another that Derpy is disabled I like the positive message of "its okay to be different" that including a character like Derpy sends and the potential to reach out to people who are seen as different both disabled and not with a character like Derpy.

Derpy is my favorite because she's Derpy. What else can I say?

 

She's easily the most iconic of the background characters for her crossed-eyes and her clumsy antics. Plus, she's very cute and is a lovable little goofball.

My favorite background ponies are Derpy and Doctor Whooves. Derpy because she is, in my opinion, the most adorable and loveable pegasus ever. I want a plushie of her so badly.

I really like Derpy because she is adorable. And I find her point of being on the show to show that everyone if unique. When i saw her speak in The Last Roundup I couldn't help but say "dawwww." I find her completely, absolutely, charming.

My favorite background pony is Lyra Heartstrings simply because of the personality that the fandom has given her. Also because she has probably the best fanfic out there, Background Pony.

 

 

I need to start reading that again. I'm on chaper 15 but the sheer length is putting me off.

Cloud Chaser became my favorite background pony because, she looks so adorable with her friend. It just depends on their personality and it usually relates to yours.

Well, for vinyl scratch, she slowly started to work up on me after seeing her personality and her coolness, also, the fact that she has a base cannon, makes her the coolest background pony!

 

As for octavia, after seeing more information on her through comics, videos, and personality as well, she became my number one due to how adorable she is, and her maturity and intelligence is something I love in a girl!

 

PS: I find these two adorable when shipped or just together!

Well, my story about how my favorite background pony became my favorite background pony is rather interesting. You see, I was playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 with an Octavia emblem I had recently made. (My favorite is Octavia if you haven't figured that out yet) Then, a brony in the lobby noticed and asked:

 

"So, is she your favorite background pony?

 

Now, I hadn't really put much thought into the background ponies ( I was new to the fandom) and hadn't really chosen a favorite yet. So, I just went "Eh, what the hay?" and kind of adopted Octavia as my favorite then. So that's how she became my favorite.

 

Then, now that she was my favorite, I did more research on her and liked her a whole lot more than I had before. She had a pretty design, played a bass(awesome instrument), and I loved her fan voice. And, she is adorable and I love the fan personality. 

 

So yeah, Octavia is my favorite.

My current favourite background pony (AND favourite pony in general) is Vinyl :3
It used to be Lyra for a while, and sure, Vinyl was cool, but she didn't appeal to me much.

However, after reading a bunch of fanfictions, listening to music, and building this headcanon about Vinyl, she quickly became my favourite pony, and current crush

I guess porn is a type of love but all joking aside I think I know what you mean, I have problem with that stuff but I can see how having your favorite background pony known mostly for that can be a bit frustrating especially if you are not into that.

For me, it'd probably be Derpy. I can relate to her in the clumsy department, I'm always tripping over things and it often feels like I have two left feet.

Definitely Derpy. I first saw her on KYM long before I became a brony. I saw her entry and I thought 'oh, what fresh hell is this?' I just love Derpy because of all the fan creations surrounding her and her messed up eyes are really cute. Personally though I prefer her alternate name 'Ditzy Doo'. Seems to make more sense as a pony name, I also like "Time Turner" better than Doctor Whooves.

Lyra is my favorite background pony for a number of reasons, but I think what got me into her was the fanfiction Anthropology. It is an amazing story and even though I read it so long ago it still remains one of my favorites. If you haven't read it yet you definitely should, who knows, maybe by the time you finish it Lyra will be you favorite BGP as well.
