Just saying, you guys are way too overly harsh with your ratings. Scores that low should be saved for stuff like Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj or something.

No, scores that low should be saved for lists that the rater doesn't like. We're all entitled to our own opinions

 

OT: Not too bad. MJ is the highlight here - 7/10

I think your list deserved a 1/10, so what? I don't like MCR, System of a Down As I Lay Dying, or Trivium, nothing that I like, and none of those songs were an exception

 

 

Still, if you're rating out of 10, 1 is basically the lowest score. By giving something a 1/10, you're implying that it's the absolute worst of the worst. You don't need to give a score that ridiculously low to show you dislike it. Really, giving any score under a 5 would pretty much imply you dislike it. Like if you gave it a 3 or 4 or something, that would be more fair I think.

0/10 is the lowest, and I'm judging the lists by how much I enjoyed the songs, there weren't any songs that I enjoyed much at all, so 1/10 is an appropriate score.

If we are rating based on a scale from 1 to 10, rating anything you don't like a 1/10, the absolute lowest possible score, is silly. The way I see it, 5 is neutral, and anything above 5 means you like it at least somewhat, and anything below 5 means you dislike it. Rating something 1/10 should be reserved for only the worst possible music that has ever existed, considering it's the lowest score you can give, unless you start giving stupid ratings like -5 billion/10 or something. I would just like the ratings to be a bit more fair, that's all. I think we need to agree on a certain rating scale and stick to it.

When giving a rating, the said list shouldn't be compared to shittier music. A rating should be purely based on the listeners enjoyment at the time of listening

 

Also, maybe the rater thinks the songs from the list are horrible enough to be given a low rating. Just because you like it doesn't mean everyone else does

 

OT: If it wasn't for Portishead (I like them, but that song isn't my favorite by them), I'd say this is the best list posted so far. Laika is my favorite Arcade Fire song ever from one of the best albums of all time imo. Still, 10/10

Ride was good, I didn't like Underoath, AF was alright and At the Drive-In are another one of those bands that I was going to listen to a long time ago but forgot to. 8/10

Rise Against is boring, I dislike Slipknot, C&C is okay but I don't like the vocals, Arteyu sounds like an In Flames ripoff, Triviums's okay.

I didn't like Underoath

 

I knew you wouldn't like Underoath, try out their older stuff, they took more of a Death Metal route when they first started. Also the song on my list by them is worth giving a try since it sounds different from the rest of their songs.

@ your list - I really hate Slipknot, have to deduct points for that. Restored by Rush though. A7X is average; though I'm liking the sound of this Coheed and Cambria song. 6.5/10 overall.
