"Now doesn't he seem awfully jaded? I was just trying to get the guy to perk up a bit, which might of worked a bit, though I realize my efforts to look heroic wasn't an award winning performance. Still, I can't let him help, he's far too young, and evidently inexperienced." Curious was about to voice his objections to Pondah's offered hoof, but couldn't get a word in before he heard somepony trotting towards them.

"Horse-feathers," Curious muttered under his breath. It was clear by the sound of the clanking that it was an armored guard, and though Curious wasn't exactly winded from chasing Pondah, he knew he couldn't take on a guard by himself, and he certainly couldn't fly away and leave the younger pony behind.

The stallion who found them was audibly panting, which would have been a good sign if Curious had to fight him. Fortunately, however, the Guard didn't seem to be insane, given that he was demanding them to simply cooperate, rather than straight up attacking them. "I don't much like the guard, but I am in no position to resist."

Curious noted that Pondah immediately dropped prone and started to panic. "yeah, definitely can't have him help if that's how he is going to respond to everypony." Curious instead calmly complied with the order and raised his front hooves over his head.

He grinned nervously before continuing, "I had to see if you were gonna attack me." He gestured with his head towards the mouth of the alley. "Things are crazy out there. Everypony's confused and attacking each other... It's a wonder I got out of there alive. And the princesses haven't returned..." He shook his head, then said in a clearer voice. "Anyway, we should get somewhere safer."

@@Addem Up, @,

"I understand your concern, sir. And, though he doesn't look it, I am pretty sure Pondah here can relate." Curious chuckled a bit as he let his hooves fall back down, and turned his head towards Pondah. "It's alright, Pondah, you can calm down now, this nice stallion here is going to help keep you safe."

"So where did you have in mind, sir?"

The guard pushed his helmet up, looking down at the earth pony. "Well... honestly, there's not many places we could go. Nopony would be home right now, and those who are would lock their doors and bar their windows." He paused, then said, "Although... I suppose I could take you to my house. But we would need to be careful."

@@Addem Up, @@GaleFenrir,

Pondah stood up slowly and let out a deep sigh of relief. "Um... sorry about that but I've been awfully nervous today what with all the carnage, mayhem and stuff like that." Still shaking with fright, Pondah took a moment to analyse the situation. 'So... I can run from the two and die or go into their potential ambush and die. Seems like there's no way out of this without bodily injury. I best keep an eye out for strange things'

"It's alright, Pondah, I'm sure everypony is nervous about this whole mess." Curious's small smile turned far larger and more sincere. "Well, I'm more giddy than nervous, but I don't need to mention that to these two."

Curious turned his head back towards the guard. "Alright, that sounds like a good course of action. I'll stay in the rear and keep an eye out for danger."

The guard nodded, turning around and beginning to trot out of the alley. "Follow me." He peered out into the street, then trotted into the main stretch, sword drawn. Trampled fruit, overturned carts, ripped banners, and other signs of the market lay scattered through the streets. Luckily or unluckily, nopony was nearby; in fact, the street was deserted, only the clutter and a distant noise of commotion signifying that anything was wrong

Curious nodded and followed the guard out the alley, nudging Pondah gently forward.((OOC: though, note, not touching his hair, coincidentally. Don't need him to get into a fit from something like that))

Curious noticed the emptiness of the street, and despite himself, it sent some shivers through his spine. "Hey, Pondah? How are you feeling, still sore?" Curious ruffled his wings a little out of nervousness. "Because, if not... I would kind of like my scarf back..."

Pondah ran a hoof down his back to see if the soreness remained. "It...it...appears fine now. You can have the scarf back."  Pondah removed the scarf and offered it back to Curious. The silence of the streets did little to settle Pondah's worried mind. ´It's too quiet, I might get ambushed and left behind so the rest can escape.´

@, @@Addem Up,

Curious gratefully accepted getting his scarf back; he always felt so much more comfortable and confident when he had it on.

He looked at Pondah, and winced slightly, "But I do feel a little guilty about taking any semblance of comfort this poor guy could have. Seriously, he needs to lighten up, but there must have been something that gave him cause to act this way."

Curious looked around himself, "we really need to get out of this street, before Pondah has a breakdown."

"So, hey, about how much further until your place?" he asked the guard.

(Not a problem, it's pretty good.)

The mare gently tugged at the unicorn, wings outstretched as she dragged her away from the fight and into a nearby building. She locked the door behind her, then turned to the unconscious pony. She retrieved a cloth from the nearby kitchen, dipping it in water and wiping her forehead before examining the unicorn's side.

(OOC: Posting this from my phone)

Silver Heart slowly opened her eyes as she regained consciousness. Everything was blurry, she couldn't make much out but it was obvious she was no longer in the middle of a riot. She whimpered as a wave of pain overwhelmed her senses. Silver Heart looked to her side where a mare was examine the large bruise on her right side. It seemed that the mare was very focused and didn't even notice that Silver Heart had regained consciousness...or maybe she didn't care. Silver Heart decided to wait until she was done.

(Sorry sorry sorry sorry! Something completely unexpected came up, and I've been disconnected from the internet for a while. Sadly, the same thing may occur later. I'll do my best to catch up, but it'll be sporadic at best.)

The guard glanced back at the pegasus. "Not far. I just hope my wife made it out safely." He shook his head, sighing. "She always did love the Summer Sun festival, and it was my first chance to see her in a while... Never mind that, though." He turned a corner, peering from side to side, then nodded. "It's safe."

Curious nodded his head. "Alright, I'll just fly up a little and double check there's nothing amiss around."

Curious took flight, flying about 10 feet up vertically, and looked around behind the small entourage for anything suspicious.

Pondah's gaze was launching everywhere, scanning the surroundings for attackers. Whilst searching, Pondah thought aloud, "Please let there be nopony here. I can't do fighting with ponies, especially not mental ones. If we get attacked then I'll be the thing that gets us killed. Unless it's one of those two who attack and then I'll be dead and they'll be fine." Pondah gulped as the uncertainty of the situation began to leak unlikely possibilities into his mind.

@,

Curious stopped looking around from his aerial view point and turned towards Pondah with an incredulous look upon his face. "Does he really think I would do something like that? Here I thought he trusted me enough to at least not kill him."

Curious couldn't help but raise his voice, "Pondah! If I wanted you dead you already would be!"

Curious balked at realizing what he just said. "Technically that was an accurate assessment of the situation, but that probably was not the right thing to say to the poor colt."

He started to speak in a more hushed tone, "S— Sorry. I didn't mean it like that. I— I just, you're just acting so irrational."

Beads of sweat began to form on Pondah's forehead as beinh caught voicing his thoughts, coupled with the worry of ambush, began to dominate his thoughts, erasing almost all rational thought.

"Horse-feathers, I really went and bucked up there, didn't I?"

Curious readjusted his scarf out of nervousness, and hovered down to the ground. "Pondah seems to react better to actions then words."

Curious trotted up to stand beside Pondah, and draped a wing over him.

Curious looked on to Pondah with a mixture of worry and relief. "He seems to be calming down, but still... I need to get him to his parents or whoever he came here with as soon as possible. That is, if they are still okay after the riot."

"Look, as I told you before, I make it my job to help ponies. I would never hurt you, alright? We are going to make it through this, but I need you to trust me."

Curious turned his head to face the guard escorting them. "So, what should we be expecting when we get to your house? Do you trust that your wife could handle herself and get home?"

The guard looked back at the two ponies, shaking his head. "Believe me... Pondah, was it? If either of us had gone insane, you'd know it. We wouldn't be plotting and planning; we'd be ripping at your throat by now." He trotted back, chuckling softly. "Let's focus on the real problems right now, all right?" The guard opened the door, standing aside and letting the others through. "Quickly, now, The sooner we're inside, the better."

Inside, the house was lit by the warm glow of candles. The guard smiled slightly, removing his helmet and laying it by the door. He let out an audible sigh, trotting forwards and embracing the mare inside. She jumped in surprise, then threw her arms around him, holding him tight and murmuring into his ear. After a few seconds, he let go, blushing. "Maple, this is Curious and Pondah." She smiled, bowing slightly. "Pleased to meet you." Turning back to her husband, she added, "I managed to find another pony as well. She's resting in the study."
