Twilight's own kingdom?

What do you think would twilight get the honor if Ilona the kingdom or would it be someone like Luna her sister? I don't really know what should happen?

No way, Twilight doesn't have the power to control night and day, she will never be able to rule the kingdom. Besides, Princess Celestia and Luna cannot die. If they die, there will be no more Equestria.

As for the moment, no. Twilight has just recently become a princess, and still has a lot to learn. However, she definitely has the potential to take over for Celestia. Twilight shows signs of a great leader, and she's reached great heights when it comes to her magical abilities. Once she learns the ropes of being a princess, she'll be able to take over as a temporary ruler. Heck, maybe even a permanent ruler one day. Only time will tell.

In the Hearth's Warming Eve episode, they DID state that the unicorns raised the sun and moon, but there was never really any specific number of unicorns in minimum needed to raise and lower. And also, there's no proof that's how Equestria was founded. It was probably other princesses but they mysteriously disappeared.

 

And Chrysalis DID die, but she's not "Princess" Chrysalis, and she isn't a alicorn either. So she isn't immortal. However, Luna and Celestia are immortal since they are alicorn princesses.

 

And that last point you stated sounded much more like a opinion on who should rule Equestria. I think Twilight is capable of ruling Equestria.

 

P.S. The princesses CAN get injured like Chrysalis knocked out Celestia in the Canterlot Wedding, but can't die.

Totally off topic, but in response to the current discussion, there's no way to tell whether or not princesses can be killed or not, because it's never actually going to happen in the show.

While I don't see putting Twilight on the throne as a good idea in case of Solar Alicorn Failure, I can see putting her in charge of figuring out how to get the sun raised with a pack of unicorns. That seems more her speed.

The way I see it, Luna can't fully rule the kingdom by herself because the princess of the night needs the princess of the day at her side. Twilight has both elements of the day and the night in her, making her a better choice over Luna. Cadance seems to be a great leader judging from how she's been doing at the Crystal Empire, but I believe that Twilight has the potential to become an even greater leader than Cadance. A group effort would definitely be the best option, but if we had to choose a single leader, I think Twilight would be the most capable once she becomes accustomed to everything.

 

I like what you guys said about Celestia letting Twilight try out what it's like to rule over Equestria. I'm sure that even a talented pony like Twilight will make some mistakes at first. You learn from your mistakes though, so in the end the mistakes will help out Twilight.

Well first yes they never give a number that was a guess from what they showed us. And second after the 3 pony tribes were the ones who found Equestria it says so in the show as the wiki after the settled there differents. and yes she can die they never say she can't all they tell us is she can live forever by the thousand year stories never do they say she can live throught anything thats the whole reason she need twilight if one day she and her sister are killed she needs someone to take over get it. Chrysalis is not a princess she is a queen to me this makes her better but sadly she only beat celestia with a power boast from shining armor it still counts in my book. And lastly she is not dead there is no poof what so ever where could you ever get that idea they were sent fly off like team rocket from pokemon for crying out load they are strong and can fly am sure she and most of her army are just fine. lastly yeah I understand the reason you think twilight could be a good leader and I agree but I feel if celestia did die her sister should take over twilight has a bit to go intill she is ready but maybe one day.

i agree but if they never say they can't be killed then its not in canon get what i mean so for now intill they tell us one way or the other she can at least in my book

I'm not sure what the current writers have in store for her right now, but it was stated that Lauren Faust's original vision included her as Celestia's successor. I'm not sure how that will work since she is immortal, but I'm sure they'll figure something out if they go that route.

Well that raises the question is Celestia truly immortal or do Allicorns simply have a different life span than other ponies? also look at Granny Smith who is apparently hundreds of years old after comparing "Winter Wrapup" and "family Appriciation Day".

It is true, all ponies seem to have VERY long lifespans, perhaps being an allicorn just prolongs the productive part of life?

If they do show it when Twilight takes over, if they do do that, I think they might just have Celestia like moving on to some other, more important task or something, since I doubt they'd show a character passing away on-screen, or even mentioned.

I don't think that she will have a kingdom because it would cause to many problems.

1. She couldn't move somewhere and leave her friends but she also could't just make all of them come with her.

2. There isn't a good reason for her to have one other than the fact that shes a princess

3.there isn't anywhere for her to rule over unless they come up with a new place.

 

I think twilight will continue to live in Ponyville and be Celestia's student. She will probably be more of a symbol than an actual ruler.

It seems that alot of people are confused about Twilicorn. But the show would have been fine without it. I know that there is always room for ideas here so, maybe Twilight turns Ponyville into a kingdom and rules over it in a way? or something similar?

To answer your question I don't think she'll get a kingdom right away and will be based out of Ponyville for the time being. Given that EQ brought it up I expect her to be apprehensive about the prospect of getting a kingdom and her abality to lead in season 4.

Twilight may get her own place to rule after she learns ALOT. It may take her years for her to be ready for that though, being a princess isn't easy after all!

It'll be cool if she rules over Ponyville though, even if it already has a mayor.

i believe she will at the End of the show or maybe if hasbro still wont end the show just yet she will get a kingdom of her own and her friends would help her rule it like having pinkie,rarity and fluttershy as courtiers, Rainbow would be capt of Twilights Royal guard and AJ would be financial minister (as she is depicted in the show as money-minded) but to make things less complicated AJ will be given her own farm to run (probably the Royal Farm thus giving it more prestige)

 

as courtiers i believe 

Rarity would act as the ears for twilight gathering info on the other nobles (as she tends to fit in with aristocracy)

Pinkie Pie would be a diplomat smoothing ruffled feathers and other times acting like the court jester (which i dont think is bad)

Fluttershy would also be a diplomat but specializing on other creatures like dragons,minotaurs,gryphons etc etc

as Capt of the Royal Guard

Rainbow Dash would start her own team that would rival the wonderbolts 

as the Financial Minister

Apple Jack would be incharge of handling the kingdoms resources while also handling deals and trades with merchants and other kingdoms

 

and as i stated that this would only happen at the end of the show, if hasbro decides to continue it i think a new set of characters should be used, my best bet would be the CMC+ a couple of new addons
