I actually really like these starter final forms a lot. I don't think anyone imagined Chespin's final form to look anything like it does, but Chesnought has a very unique design, and I'm really liking the fact that it isn't smothered in the color green like all Grass starters before it. I'm also loving Greninja. The use of the tongue was a very creative touch, and I am absolutely thrilled to have a Water starter that possesses some speed for a change. Delphox does not look quite like I was hoping, but it continues to grow on me. Fennekin was my favorite from the start, and I will still choose it as my starter. These are are a huge step up from Gen V's starters in terms of typing as well. I really can't wait to use these babies.

Yeah agreed. While gen 5's starters all have adorable first forms, they really don't turn out too well(especially Emboar, I mean really). This gen though, it appears we're getting the best group of starters since gen 4, I too can't wait for them.

I don't know if this has already been shared on here, but there was a huge leak. If you follow the link, you'll see all 16 leaked Pokemon from this new generation, including the final forms of the starters,  as well as a new Vivillon form and more mega evolutions. Mostly because the games were accidentally released early somewhere in Canada and somewhere in Italy, but anyway...

Anywho, I reckon, and kinda hope, this is legit.  And most of the new Pokemon look pretty cool, but none more so than the fully-evolved starter Pokemon. I'm sorta glad I'd decided to pick Chespin in the first place. What do you guys think?

I'd also like to make the note that that imgur page I linked y'all to in the last post is still being updated. I'm going back through it and there's already like six more pokemon than earlier.

 

 

These six include evolutions to Doublade, Skrelp and Clauncher, and two for Flabebe.

 

Mega Gyarados and Mega Aerodactyl are amazing. 'Nuff said.

Ok so my friend just told me that Fennekin has 2 final evolutions depending on its gender. If it's a male, it looks different from the form we have seen through the leaked pics. Has anyone confirmed this?

 

On a side note, just switched my pre-order from Y to X, why? because mega charizard x !

If fennekin has 2 final evolutions i would think the other two starters would as well it would seem kinda unfair if only one of them got a 2nd final gender based evolution but who knows

 

Also i just ordered preordered X CharzardX is to epic to pass up

That is what I was thinking, so I wasn't very sure about what he said. I really need to brush up on more news about this game. It comes out in 1 week!

I'm trying to avoid as many spoilers as possible though this probably isn't the right place to be for that lol Though I think it would be amazing if all 3 had 2 Final evolutions based on gender

I have been playing pokemon since the 90s but after gen 4, I began to ignore it more and more. I haven't even beaten black 2 yet and I don't think I will. But this new game has brought me back into the pokemon scene, mainly because the creators decided to bring back the classics like the original 3 starters into the mix along with pokemon from all regions. Thats how I know this game will be awesome. Also, I think IGN gave the game a 9/10

Based on the leaked final evolutions of the starters, I'm pretty disappointed.  Chespin was my first choice, but he looks entirely different form his cutesy hat-wearing base evo.    Fennekin was a second choice, and his middle evo is pretty cute, but the third one is just pretty terrible.  Sadly, the frog has my favorite final evo, but I'm just so torn between him and my dear chespin.

 

Also, getting X because cotton candy pokemon.  :3

Pokemon Yellow was the first one I got back in like 1999 but the first one i actually played through and beat the elite 4 in was Silver though I played all pokemon gens after that. It turns out alakazam was the smartest pokemon, he used future site to forsee the Ice cream pokemon and carried spoons ever since

Alakazam has always been one of my favorites for battles, even since Gen 1 he's been one of the top tiers. I'm really hoping there is a mega evolution for him in this game. I mean, Gengar got one, and gengar is like alakazam's doppelganger. Only makes sense to make one for alakazam.

I hope they make one for all pokemon honestly but I doubt that will happen soon. I would love Mega Evolutions for all my Eeveelutions!

That'd be pretty cool. Perhaps they could have them regain their Normal typing as a dual type, making a Ghost-immune Espeon? That's the only benefit I could see from that actually lol(it'd make Umbreon and Glaceon pretty easy to kill for instance), just throwing that out there.

They could also fix some of the mistakes they've made with some of the Eeveelutions, like increasing Mega Flareon's speed and special attack and increasing Mega Leafeon's speed as well. Who knows if they'll actually get Mega Evolutions but we'll see if they do in this game(or perhaps the 3rd version).

my umbreon already gets on hit killed by all bug type moves anyway lol i just think it would look awesome also a ghost immune espeon is an evil idea

Unfortunately that most likely wont happen, "Mega Evolution is not possible for all Pokémon. Only certain Pokémon, under certain conditions, can achieve Mega Evolution. "-Source from the official pokemon x and y website. The game would have probably needed more time for release of every pokemon had a mega evolution.

I'm in the same boat as you, Black 2 is still sitting on my shelf just begging to be played but I doubt I ever will. The fourth and fifth generation were rather lackluster for me, but this generation is shaping up to be the best of the best. 

 

Also, I wouldn't trust anything IGN says. I'm not saying the game might not be deserving of a 9/10, but as they say "You can't spell Ignorant without IGN". Not to mention that IGN has a kinda...history with Pokemon games.

I've just been kinda trying my best not to spoil to much for x and y for the next week we have before it comes out.

 

Overall I'm excited, I hope I'm not let down by the game! Even if I doubt i will be.

 

I'm still picking fennekin because I don't mind the final evolution, so unless something big changes I'm picking fennekin.

 

Other then sylveon or a possible other eeveelution idk who I'm getting.

I've read some reviews on X & Y. Pretty much the only thing keeping it from 10/10 is that the overworld has no stereoscopic 3D, since that literally LAGGED the 3DS in testing.

Yeah i actually don't mind the final Evo still getting fennekin.

 

It's not amazing, but it's cool enough.

 

And that kinda sucks, but I guess hardware has limits.

I gotta say that kinda sucks Garbador do-do, I was hoping to be able to use the service as soon as I was done with the game's main story. Oh well, not much I can do about it, unless the transfer tool thing comes out before it and can work seperately to the bank but it seems like it only works so you can transfer Pokémon from a gen 5 game to the bank I think.

So yeah, more waiting, yay...

So was I, but on the other hand, I'm glad I can go through the game without the desire to use Pokemon from other generations the first time around XD I was planning on transferring a bunch of Pokemon for a team I was going to use but this seems to be funner, still, can't wait to transfer my Pokemon in, I just spend 3 months hunting down a Latias with reasonable IVs in every stat except attack... that was a pain but finally managed it!

A bit disapointing to hear it won't be avaliable till later in the year, but I'm ok with it mostly, while I'll be a bit disappointed to not be able to transfer Pokemon immediately, I'm sure I'll have a good time playing x and y with its Pokemon for a while. And maybe finishing catching other Pokemon and training Pokemon from other gens to transfer over.

 

I'm still pumped for x and y regardless. .

 

I assume poketransfer will release near the Same time, cant imagine it taking to much longer.

I have a feeling they'll all be avaliable ingame somewhere, most likely during the main story, if not post game.

 

I'd be kinda surprised if all the mega evos aren't ingame.

Chespin's final form is a BADASS and has sealed its place as my starter for Y. Fennekin will still be my starter for X (along with Charmander and the event Torchic) but Y is probably going to be Chespin, Squirtle... and still the event Torchic because Blaziken is awesome.

Well yeah, I have no doubt they'll be obtainable in X and Y, but I'd still rather use the Pokémon I've already trained in their Mega forms, especially those like

Gengar, who'd be kind of a pain to get again without the ability to transfer. I can already trade between White and White 2 to evolve one whenever I want, but I'm not interested in getting a second 3DS or the other game so I'll have to wait to use it. I think Scizor is another one getting a Mega who's like that as well.

Yeah, love the event Torchic thing they're doing, I've always wanted a Speed Boost Blaziken and now everyone can get one with its Mega form!
