Let's remember, we all thought a pokemon grey was going to come out as a third pair of black and white, which never happened. Instead we got a dumb sequel to the two. Gamefreak might pull something like that again (im hoping they don't Pokemon Z sounds badass.)

There are rumors supported by text in X and Y that Hoenn will be reintroduced at some point in the future. Some believe that this may come with Pokemon Z (which is also pretty much confirmed) to add a significant amount of post game content to the Gen VI games, as there is currently very little to do once you beat the main story.

Thanks for sharing! That would be awesome to get to go back to the Hoen region. The hoen region is the one most forgotten about. Pretty much every gen has had a remake or made it into generation 4 and above other than this one. The only real updates to the gen 3 pokemon are sprite updates and some mega evolutions.

If I recall correctly, in Diamond/Pearl you encounter the Gym Leader Jasmine where she briefly mentions the Johto region. And, lo and behold, HeartGold and SoulSilver were revealed not long after Platinum's release.

I would love a Ruby/Sapphire 3DS remake. I really enjoyed Heart Gold/ Soul Silver myself, as the nostalgia was amazing. Seeing Hoenn in a 3D world could be pretty exciting.

I know this isn't just for pokemon X and Y, but I want to know. I am a person who likes a team that stalls the opponent. What kind of pokemon are good for that sort of thing? And what do you think some of the new pokemon will be for this kind of team?

Hm, I think Doublade and Malamar seem like they'll be cut out for that, Doublade because I've seen its stats and it seems to excel at defense, and Malamar because its look and typing seem like they'd be cut out for it. I could see maybe a Steel/Fairy type Pokémon being able to fullfil that role as well.

This game will be released this month. I would love to get a copy of the Y version simply because I like that legendary pokemon better than the X deer looking one. I am also wondering how the new Fairy pokemon type will play out in real life when I can get a copy of the game?

Yeah, we don't need anymore remakes after Ruby and Saphire. What we do need is a new stadium like game for the Wii U. I've been waiting for a pokemon stadium 3 since I was a kid, no, instead we got pokemon Colosseum and xD gale of darkness. I did quite enjoy PBR though.

Well, I can't tell with the new pokemon, but off the top of my head you either want something with tons of defense or anything that has a huge block of health and can learn healing moves like Rest. Take Koga's Muk for instance, which had Minimize to make it impossible to hit, Swagger to make a Pokemon hurt itself in confusion and a high enough defense so that any physical attack did next to nothing and the ace of any stalling set: Toxic. Chansey and Snorlax come to mind as having huge amounts of health and somewhat decent defenses and can learn Rest to heal all that damage in an instant. 

 

Claydol is also a good wall, especially once it learns Cosmic Power and can raise both of it's already high defenses at once. Basically you want something that can take punishment from just about anything and still remain standing.  

Yeah, anything with high defense and or the ablity to stall.

 

Poison types tend to be quite good at stalling, as alot are very defensive, or slightly.

 

Also Chansey while a good pokemon in competitive, i find kinda boring to use in the majority of gameplay, atleast when i used one in Fire red.

 

Just me though, its a good pokemon, just not good at gaining levels in things besides gym battles and stuff.

 

Healing moves also help, even if alot of stalling pokemon don't necessarily have healing moves.

 

@@Zygen, Haha, Pokemon Z sounds pretty sweet; especially if they merge the game exclusive Pokemon (like the Cotton Candy Pokemon and Perfume Pokemon) and add some cool bonuses. I know Platinum had the distortion world, but it didn't have enough allure for me; plus, I already had (Altered form) Giratina. It's also true that Johto is a favorite of mine, so replaying it was more enjoyable than replaying later versions.

 

Back to the theory of Pokemon Z: Which Mega Evolutions would you receive? Would you have a choice between the two, both, and/or something completely new (maybe Charizard Z, or better yet.......Charizard XYZ Dragon Cannon!!!...idk).

 

Anyhoo, the "confirmation" of Z seems a bit hazy. It's certainly poetic if you consider X and Y as dimensions in the game; allowing Z to be the final 3rd dimension of the first 3D Pokmon [handheld] game. I recall seeing a genetic marker (chromosome?) near the X and Y covers though; which, for all practical purposes, stops the lineage there.

 

Whatever we get though, future 3DS Pokemon games will be worthwhile!

Yeah, i dunno if they'll thrown in new pokemon, but yeah.

 

And its cool, it is pretty similar, but i'm such a big fat pokemon fan that i don't care xD.

I guess, maybe i am jumping the gun a bit... but it seems quite likely to me in a way, then not in another.

 

Its true the game has the little DNA thing, and if its based upon not X, Y , Z dimensions that wouldn't make as much sense.

 

So maybe it is just based upon X and Y chromosomes, and we may not get a pokemon Z.

Yeah, thats a good point actually, maybe its a hint toward the next remake being Emerald? Or sapphire and Ruby one, whatever they decide to remake. (more likely to remake Sapphire and ruby, then to remake emerald, since they always do duo versions. Like with Gold and silver, they didn't do a crystal remake or anything, well atleast directly.)

Yeah same here, getting to play Gold/Silver again was quite fun, and its nice to see things in a fresh modern style.

Really Doublade is defensively based? Thats interesting, seemed from its apperance of being a sword i'd have thought it'd be more offense based.

I like the legendary better, of course alot of the X exclusives are tempting. Regardless i'm getting pokemon Y. I already pre ordered it.

Honestly, I don't know how neccesary a stadium game would be at this point, considering how the handheld game now has 3D graphics, which were the main appeal of them in the first place. I don't see it happening really especially since we didn't get anything in the 5th generation, I'll admit it would be nice though considering how beautiful Pokémon Battle Revolution was and an HD Pokémon battling game in that style would be even better.

Oh, well then yeah i think Swords dance will be good on him.

 

He'll be able to setup nicely being able to survive. 

 

And he looks cool, i may like him. i'll have to see, probably will use it sometime.

I would love it. I would really want to see it happen, especially if they added either a bunch of extras and/or an RPG mode like the GC games. But is it likely? Probably not unfortunately. So I was just informed that a game store sold all their copies they received of Pokemon X and Y. Somehow Nintendo found out and fined the store $20,000 per game that was sold before its release date. Tough luck.... no fair for people like us that are actually sitting around and waiting until saturday.

This just in, even more evidence of a return to Hoenn has been revealed in X and Y. Now the real question is will that return come in the form of remakes like Heart Gold and Soul Silver, or as additional content in Pokemon Z?

Whenever a lawsuit gets filed it usually starts out absurdly high, but then it goes to court and ends up a lot lower. There's not really any penalty for it, and if your asking price is too low it will usually get awarded at that level rather than going up to what it should be, so that's how it goes.

Personally, I'm really happy I pre-ordered Y. Heracross has always been one of my go-to Pokemon, and with news of Mega Heracross being confirmed I am excited to have him back on my team. I'm also very happy to see Sneasel in the Kalos Pokedex, as it is my absolute favorite Pokemon.

I'm so excited by the fact that chandy is available with needing to transfer from gen 5 

 

and oh my god, doublade evolves XD
