Oh it was glorious all right.  

It was the craziest thing.  All of a sudden it seemed like dozens of opposite sex members started pairing off. And, yes, there were a few same sex pairings too.  I think a few of those relationships endure to this day.  But most fizzled out because they were long distance affairs that had little chance of making the transition to real life.  Most were in their teens and early 20s after all.  Still in all my years of forum life (here and elsewhere) I never saw anything like that before or since.
