Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash

Clicking this topic thinking this is just your everyday drawing of Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash? Well boy do I have a surprise for you! It's totally not a average drawing of Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash!

Clicking the back button thinking I'm initially screwing with you? Well don't, it's still a drawing of Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash!

Anyways, I'll tell you how this drawing came to be. So yesterday I was like watching that Equestria Girls movie (Which was pretty darn good if I do say so myself) and when it was over I had a large inspiration to draw something. Considering this was all done at a late hour, I didn't remember I started this drawing until I returned home tonight and saw it chillin' around and I was like "What the crap is that and why does it exist?!"

So what is it you ask? Well it's simply a drawing of Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash! Well, kinda. Scootaloo is kinda on a lawn mower and Rainbow Dash is kinda hovering above the lawn mower and it is also kinda a spoof on Craftsman Tools (Sears' brand of tools). Obviously if you haven't heard of Craftsman, you kinda won't get the spoof.

Craftsman's slogan has been "Made in U.S.A." so I was all like "Made in Equestria" for that part along with screwing "Craftsman" to say "Craftspony".

Yeah, I know nobody in their right mind should come up with a drawing like this, but luckily, i'm not in my right mind.

Enjoy n' stuff.

All done with pencil and paper because I like shading and dislike coloring. Some people ask me "What kinda fancy-dancy artsy-fartsy drawin' pencils do you use Earl?" and i'm like "I use those cheap mechanical pencils you get at Wal-Mart." Yeah, i'm not that about it.

That is awesome. I want to draw with pencils more than anything... but I suck.

I love the black-white style as well! It's like a black and white photo with ads on it :)

Brilliant...I just absolutely love it! I may not get that spoof you were talking about, but nevertheless it's still an amazing draw img-1379355-5-xtWXQl1.png

May I ask how long it took for you to draw this? Considering that it looks like that lawnmower took a pretty long time because of all the little details you put into it.

Thank you for your comment and appreciation of my drawing here! It is really much obliged.

The drawing all together probably took around four or five hours. Yeah, it kinda sounds like a long time but I used a lot of the time to initially figure the scale of the lawn mower and ponies together and to figure the angles as well.

The little details make the whole thing enjoyable for me. I enjoy to sit down, look at a rough drawing of mine and add the finishing touches, details and shading to it. Shading is also one thing I can go crazy with, considering I wasn't sitting at a desk in school though, I didn't put a ton of shading variations in the drawing, only minor ones.

If it is one thing that makes a good picture for me it's detail and a good story behind it as well. And that is what I attempt to accomplish in my artwork, detail, depth and difference. They may not be the five "D's" of Dodgeball, but they work alright with artwork.

Thanks again for your question and comment, appreciate it! :)

Thank you! I appreciate that!

It is kinda a vintage lawn mower. It's actually my 1994 Craftsman LT1500 lawn tractor that I have personally. So yeah, it has some years behind it. I figured what better to add some more depth to this image than add a personal item to it, so that is what I done did.

Thanks again buddy, I am much obliged that you continue to follow my artwork posts. Keep on keepin' on bud. :)
