Would you make a presentation for your class about MLP?

Public speaking already makes me nervous, so I don't know if I'd have the courage to add giving a presentation on MLP on top of that.  I don't even know if a presentation on MLP would work in any of my classes, since most of them relate to my international relations major.  I guess if I wanted to, I could find a way to make it work, but it would be hella random  .

I've got nothing but respect for anyone who can give a presentation about our favorite pastel coloured ponies though.  That takes some serious courage.

In that case I probably would do it, I mean why not? If people actually want to know than I am happy to answer their questions and if trolls come than well the jokes on them because I don't care what they think.

Well that's the other thing. The Dean of Students gave me permission to kick whoever I needed to out of them meeting, if they were trolling.

If I were to do an MLP presentation, it would be music based. I'm a biology major and we don't do presentations. I actually did perform some MLP music. No one knew where it was from, but a lot of them enjoyed it without knowing the source xD

Well, I applaud that dude! mlp-tclapfixed.png

Honestly, I would likely not. It's not that i'm embarrassed (although I would rather not deal with the petty insults afterwards), but that I have a hard time talking in front of people about anything. If I were confident enough, then hellz yea. mlp-fscrunchy.png

But I wonder what would require me to talk about MLP in the first place.... mlp-apout.png

Major kudos to that guy. The speech he made took some guts.

As far as whether or not I would do it, that depends.

In high school, had I gotten the chance, I probably would have passed on it. While I can admit that I'm a brony, I'm not that comfortable explaining it to people. Combine it with nervousness of being in front of people in general and classmates that I probably wouldn't want to explain my hobbies to, and I would probably be reduced to a puddle of nerves. I also might have trouble coming up with something interesting and original to say on MLP at that level. Why someone should watch MLP has been done many times before by people who could explain it so much better than I.

Post-secondary might be a different story. If I got an opportunity to research/analyze some aspect of MLP or the brony fandom and present my findings, I would probably take it (given the right circumstances). That would pretty interesting to do, and I would probably be able to find something interesting to talk about. I don't know if I'll ever get a chance like that though. Maybe if I became the leading scholar on children's cartoons. =P

DFTBA.

I admire people who can do that sort of thing.  I would rather impale myself with a dead raccoon than stand up infront of people and give a presentation about anything.

Personally, no, I wouldn't do it. I'm a girl, so it's not that I'm worried about it being necessarily awkward, but I'd be afraid of it being boring for the other students there. Understandably, I know people do these presentations as a way of trying to explain and show that MLP is okay for men to be watching and judgement shouldn't be occurring, but you should take into consideration that some people don't exactly want to listen to it.

It's just out of courtesy- there's definitely betters ways to try and explain the phenomenon to people- that's just my opinion though!

I would do this. I already was known for doing things that were out of the ordinary or supposedly embarrassing. One of the things that made my fellow memmbers of the class either drop their jaws or laugh was when I was making fun of obama for a debate i didn't pick, and whenever I said it was a slap in the face I smacked myself(and it was a loud fast smack)  poor example but whatever.

But ya, I could totally do that, and would.

If the topic was fitting and I could do one about MLP, then without a doubt I would do it. Sure I'm not one of those fanatical Bronies but if it was on sub-cultures or something related to some Fandom I might as-well pick something I already know a lot about.

Well, I think everyone in the school knows I'm a pegasister already, but I can't say it in front of my professor. I think he might think strangely of me, but still, if I made a presentation, it might lower my "cool" factor in school.. It's already low enough. .-.

Well, that kid certainly has 10,000x more balls than I do. Maximum respect to him.

As for whether or not I'd do it, it really depends on the situation, as well as the place. I went to two high schools (one for the first two years, then transferred to another for the remaining two), and in the first one such a thing would have been suicide as that school was full of HORRIBLE people and especially as I was already a pretty big target for bullies there to begin with.

In the second school it might have been different. That school was a lot more... nice and open-minded, at least in my experience, and I felt like I could be more myself there. In fact I gained some decent popularity through my various quirks. Such a presentation there might've gone over reasonably well, and I probably might have done it for the lulz.

Of course this is all moot, since I avoid presentations like the plague and I graduated 7 years ago.

Already have, I was gonna record it, but my friend didn't press the damn record button on my phone... Anyways, yeah, I've done it, it was nerve racking, but it was fun at the same time, all the people that were in that class now know I am a brony.

I would really hope Id be able to do this sort of thing but, I really dont think Id be able to pull something like this off. I would get nervous just going up and doing any other kind of presentation at all. Im known to be a very quiet and shy person at my school.

I genuinely don't do so well when it comes to public speaking, not to mention that Im not very good at making well put and smooth going presentations.

Cheers to him, for have the guts to get up and do that in front of his peers and classmates.
