The worst possible thing I could imagine happening in season 4 is if too much fan service was applied.

 

I don't mind a few along the way, but season 3 kind of over did it.

I think the Worst! Possible! The show becomes completely centered around Twilight being a princess, and the rest of the mane six have very little impact on the show... Then she starts dating Brad, they get married and have little alicorn babies everywhere.

Oh, then Derpy is permanently removed, and the rest of the mane six turn into alicorns, get married and fly off to rule distant lands to have babies of their very own. Tis the circle of life.

Also, on the last episode its revealed that in MMC,Twilight was exploded by the elements of harmony and the rest of the show was merely a hallucination of hers while drifiting off to pony heaven.

One for the Sun, one for the Moon. That's the purpose of a princess, is it not? To be fair, Cadence can be sort of justified as Celestia's "replacement" for Luna, who was shafted out of a chance at leadership following Luna's return, and Twilicorn at least has the potential to turn into a good character arc. But if the staff adds any more, it will just get batshit crazy.

Honestly I believe that the worst thing that could happen in season four is that the CMC never get their cutie marks and that they have a disease that they will never get their cutie marks. That would be the most depressing thing ever. Also if Chrysalis takes over and the Elements of Harmony are completely destroyed and the Mane 6 can't ever get it back. I also think that Twilight losing her princesshood involuntarily, with some kind of dark force that can't be stopped, would be a really sad ending to My Little Pony. That's all.

• Further forgetting lessons learned by any of Mane6 or Spike
• Snips and Snails centered episode
• Love interests of Mane 6
• Another super-villain quickly and trivially defeated

• Further move away from original style to make MLP like other stupid cartoons to get a wider audience at young age. Or make MLP more girly.

I think the worst thing is any of the mane 6 getting into a romantic relationship. We've seen Twilight do this in a movie and to be honest; I flippin hated it so imagine if any of the other characters get themselves a boyfriend.

 

I'm not sure but I think Rarity breaking her relationship to Spike would be pretty bad but also pretty good. Just seeing a heartbroken dragon could lead to a very emotional episode full of tense moments.

A fifth alicorn would be ridiculous alright, but a fifth princess would just sink MLP under its own weight, at least I believe so. But seriously, the worst possible thing that could happen, is if the show got worse than it did in Season 3, Twilight and Rainbow got boyfriends and the rest of the Mane 6 became alicorns as well. But mainly, if the show just got more one-dimensional, uninspiring and downright crap, that would be it for me. I'd leave the sinking ship ASAP.

Luna's re-transformation into Nightmare Moon, as shown in the Season 4 preview, being the real deal, and not just some vision/test/etc. experienced by Twilight; Luna does NOT deserve to return to that Hell!

I'm going to go with this too as IMHO season 3 displayed signs of increasing influence from the toy divison of Hasbro. That said, it also stood out more in season 3 due to its reduced length.
