Should 'Fairness' be one more new Element of Harmony?

I was thinking for awhile that their should maybe be a seventh element of harmony, fairness. Fairness would be an element of harmony because you must be fair to all people and ponies around you or they will feel cheated in a sort of way. The one I think who should get it is spike. Many of you would say no to this but I think of spike of a fair person. He always try to be fair with others by rejecting things so others can have (not s2 e9). Also if someone does him a big favor he will always do his best to repay them.

 

 

So there are my thoughts about this whole thing.

In all fairness (pun intended), I think that fairness really ties in to what it means to be honest. People think that honesty is just telling the truth, but it's MUCH more than that. Honesty is being trustworthy, fair, and upright.

 

And you won't find a more fair mare than Applejack herself, so an element of fairness seems fairly pointless IMO.

I honestly agree with Sugar Cube in the fact that Fairness does go in with Applejack's harmony Honesty. 

But I guess it wouldn't hurt to have another one :3

If anything new came from MMC and Celestia listing all of the Elements (and that Twilight showed them all) it would be (true) Leadership. So in my mind Twilight shows not only her own Element, Magic, and the others? but the new one of Leadership.

I'm thinking maybe introducing a 7th cast member (or a 6th if Twilicorn is going to be out of the picture eventually), bring in a new personality trait that lessons can be learned from. I've had the idea for the Element of Acceptance, embracing every pony and every creature for who they truly are, and hoping that the same is done for you one day.

Aww no D: I'd hate to see Twilight out of the picture. A new element could possibly ruin the show really.. if there really was a new element how would this back up the past battles? How would the mane 6 stop Nightmare Moon, or discord? It just wouldn't be right because they'd need to back this up and explain how it was possible without this new element. I think the 6 they have now are enough in all honesty

I'm pretty sure Applejack would get slighlty annoyed if another pony joined the Elements of Harmony as an element that her element of harmony already covers. 

 

Also, I don't think they need a Mane 7. Mane 6 should be fine. Plus, the shows has already has had three seasons, and a movie. In my opinion, I think it's a bit late for a new Element of Harmony. For one, it wouldn't give a lot of character development for the new character. Second, it would seem weird for a new element to come along as it has been said before that the Elements of Harmony will not work unless ALL of them are together.

I will not love and tolerate a seventh element unless it is the element of muffins ! I voted no. It always seems weird when you try to add people to the mane cast of any given show. Most of the time, the mane characters are always there to stay without openings for another.

I'd rather not. the mane 6 are perfect the way they are. No need to change that. All of them already have character development, but if a new pony is added they will have to start from scratch with that one and i personally would not want to rewind back to the beginning of a pony and see how she adjusts to the group.

I agree that fairness is already represented by AJ, and I don't believe that Spike should represent a seventh element, or that a new element should be introduced, but I do think it's worth discussing and acknowledging Spike's role in the lore surrounding the Elements. He already displays integrity and fairness as well as loyalty. He sometimes even rivals RD in loyalty! He has, throughout the episodes, shown traits of each of the other Elements as well. But Spike is different from the mane six because however complex their characters may be, at their cores they are each an archetype representing a single idea. Spike, on the other hand, is a character who reflects each of the elements to various degrees at different times. He is the representation of the elements working their magic and turning a regular person into a hero through the power of friendship. This was displayed most when he delivered the Crystal Heart against all odds, but also when he followed Twilight through the mirror, and when he stood up to those bully dragons to save the phoenix chicks.

Technically speaking, Spike would be considered the 7th Element of Harmony, if there ever was one per say. Think about it, he may not be one of the Mane 6, but he's one of the closest characters to Twilight, the main protagonist and shares a unique relationship with her that is equally as important as that she shares with her friends and even Celestia's. He may be a supporting character and the butt of many jokes, but so are the other Mane 6 a lot of the times. Heck even Twilight tends to become a supporting character at times, even in arguably key plot episodes too at times like Luna Eclipsed and Keep Calm and Flutter On. He's the Green Ranger of MLP: FiM.

 

Finally let's be honest who else aside from the Mane 6 and Celestia and Luna, helped save an entire kingdom and get commemorated with a mural in Canterlot palace for it?

No, because having fairness as an element would render most of the elements useless. Like Ticket Master would not have happened. (its only fair to give it to _______) Party of One would not have happened. (It's not fair to leave her hanging like that.)

And I feel like the element of fairness would have been a big fat Mary Sue. Everything she does is fair, she's never wrong, no one ever gets mad at her, she's always right.

I don't know about Fairness, seeing as how that ties into Honesty. However, I think a bigger argument along these lines could be made for something like the Element of Diplomacy - then again, that would fix half the problems the show has with it's scripts, so... X3
