The want for My little pony!

Hello everypony! I wanted to make a discussion about this feeling i'm having, and have had in the past. This feeling is a familiar one to me, and i'm not sure what to make of it. It is a feeling that i get in topics or subjects where i have this... want for the subject at hand to exist. It is anything crazy or psychotic(or sexual for that matter), just a simple, not-so-intense feeling that i wish i could interact or meet whatever it is, and in this case it is MLP: FiM. I don't know what triggers it, maybe just a simple interest? I have had this feeling with a few things now, a book series i once read, stuff like that. And this is by no means a continuous lust for it to be, its just a passing feeling i get every once in awhile where im like "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if this existed." And then just a quick as it comes, it goes. I just wanted to make this thread in hopes to find if anyone else has had this feeling for anything, MLP or not. Just curious, and please, share your thought on the subject!

No, I do not.

 

The ponies would not survive in the hellstorm we call Earth.

 

They need to stay in their own world where hate and suffering cannot reach them.

 

Now if I could go to Equestria myself I would say yes, but for ponies in Earth?

Oh yes I do.

 

It would be pretty amazing to actually talk with the ponies.

 

But alas, it will never be.

 

It is their personalities that I really love, so meeting someone who is almost exactly like the character is always a treat.

 

Not to annoy others (As people get mad when I do talk about her >.>)

 

but my girlfriend is a real life Fluttershy.

 

Squeeing and everything.

 

So yeah... I would like to meet them.

 

But meeting people LIKE them is the next best thing.

I think I understand where you're coming from. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it a sort of mental value placed upon the characters, which develops fictional emotions towards wanting them to succeed and accomplish their goals? If so, then I believe I've felt the same way to an extent about such things like fictional works and stuff. I think just about every brony wouldn't mind a chance to meet MLP's characters IRL, but obviously it won't happen, so...

But meeting people LIKE them is the next best thing.

Ok cool, then yeah I've felt the same way. And I borrowed some of the wording from an MLP review that I watched a while back which seemed to explain things about the whole (fanbase vs. show) desire factor.
