Has anyone on this forum heard of Toontown?

For me, it has been the game that I've been playing the most.

For those who don't know, Toontown is an online game where a league of robotic businessmen are attacking the world of Toontown and ruining all of the toons' fun. You, as a toon, have to take them out, using seven different types of gags, Toon-up, Trap, Lure, Sound, Throw, Squirt, and Drop. Most of the game is based off of characters created by Disney.

In the game, my character's name is Sir Fritz Fumbleklunk, a blue cat with a golfing hat. If anyone wants to give me your name and a district where we can meet, that would be awesome.

I've also thought of a neat story involving Toontown...

It is about a guy and his roommate. They are human for the first part of the story.

The narrator of the story is someone who cares about finances and stuff like that, and is a telemarketer when he isn't in school. His roommate, though, is the kind of guy who loves to have fun, and is always telling the narrator that he needs to lighten up a bit.

Then, the narrator gets thrown into Toontown.

He sees that everyone is like his roommate that he hates so much, and goes through the tooning process like any other new toon. He is then recommended by the VP, the head of the Sellbots, to become a Telemarketer. Since his doesn't support of the "chaotic" nature of the toons, he accepts.

As a cog, he goes out to fight against the toons. Considering how good the narrator is at being a destroyer of fun, he defeats many toons.

However, seeing the sad and spiteful faces of the toons made him want to help them more than he does the Cogs. Since he was accepted by the Sellbots, he was able to easily sneak in and destroy them. The more experienced toons then let him borrow their disguises for the other kinds of Cogs so he could go out and destroy every other kind of Cog.

Once all that was done, the toons were saved, and the narrator found out how to have fun again.

And, this whole story will be called "Toon-up"

The extent of my interest is in things that don't exist.

Or, at least, things that aren't in the basic man's senses

Indeed. Way back when I had an account for that game and I think I played it for about a month and then got busy with school and stuff and I never went back to it ever since. Does bring up some memories. It was pretty cool.

When you say Toontown I think of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". I didn't know they made a game by that name. Is it related in any way to the movie?

Wow, is this game seriously still running after all these years?

Me and my sister used to play it a lot when I was younger, and I think it's what got me into online gaming. I remember that my toon was a brown rabbit named "Cool Wildfoot".

From what I remember from when I last played, the game only features Disney characters, and it's set entirely in a cartoon world, unlike the movie, where there's the real world and the toon world.

So, no. There is no relation between the two.

I have heard of it; I just have not actually played it. I recall playing quite a lot of Neopets and Wizard 101 but I never really played ToonTown.

Oh my gosh, I used to love that game when I was young (well, much younger than I am now of course)! I would always sit at the computer every day just playing it for hours, it was so fun! It was my first online multiplayer experience I believe, and I remember making a few friends on there, along with an enemy or two, but I can't remember what happened to them, it was so long ago. :D

I remember I used to play Toontown when I was young without membership after watching a commerical of it on TV. A few years ago, I play Toontown with my younger sister's membership account. Now, my sister still plays the game and I stop since it was getting too boring for me.

TOONTOWN. OH WHY?

For starters, Toontown is almost like Club Penguin but instead it was Disney's attempt at a MMORPG style game. I won't say I don't like it, or love the game but it's like not fun when you play it. Back then I had a Roblox account, and through the time of Roblox, it went to be so bad in 2009 I had to quit. Main reason: Too much limitations, and Bulider's club choices from BC, SBC, UBC. Here, you get membership to finish the game. Heres the funny part, membership people go to the phonebooth for account help, non-members do not (WHAT A PARADOX).

I have that addiction to when I used to play Roblox and Club Penguin too, now I play Minecraft not as much as I did when I was young.

Not trying to say its bad, but its MEH.  >_>

Is this still a thing!? I remember playing this game when I was a kid, it was essentually my first MMO! I never really got too far with it though, I mostly liked randomly jumping around, playing the trolly (lol trolley*) games, glitching behind the pet store and participating in completely random fights.

I eventually grew out of it, but it was amazing to me at the time.

Edited for somewhat humourous spelling error correction.

When i was 8 or 9,i used to love playing that game,it's a shame that my computer would lock up trying to load it though!

I really do wish i could've played it,without lag and slow loading!

Same problem when I was young playing Club Penguin on our old Windows XP computer. But same thing for Roblox too, but lags every few seconds. And by that time, I haven't played Toontown when I was young.

Man, this thing's still running?

I loved Toontown when I was growing up because of the multiplayer aspect and the abundance of cartoon cliches.  Today, there are tons of multiplayer PC games for kids that employ cartoon cliches, and most of them are free.  Toontown cost ten bucks a month back then, and I doubt the price has gone down too much.  Considering how much of the game was spent grinding, I'm surprised anyone would want to pay for it in a time when there's so many alternatives.

I used to play Toontown alot. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!! But then I reached a point where I had to upgrade to get more missions. I made another character and started over, but then school and everything got in the way and I haven't had time to play since. But I may possibly soon and record myself to post on my Youtube channel. Thanks for reminding us about the game!!
