gaming If you could have certain things from video games

If you could have:

• 1 outfit or article of clothing from a video game for whatever reason
• 1 game mechanic work for you in real life (like a double jump or no fall damage or something)  (THIS DOES NOT MEAN A POWER THAT A CHARACTER HAS)
• 1 weapon from a game

 

What would they be and why?

 

I would choose:

 

Solid Snakes Octocamo from MGS4 seeing as I think it would be AWESOME to be able to just lean on something and blend in visually and have the outside of it actually copy the texture of whatever I'm leaning on

 

No Fall Damage from various games. I think it would be awesome to not have to worry about getting hurt in case you fall from a high height. Especially since I'm afraid of heights... 

 

The Hidden Blade from Assassins Creed. It may be simple but still deadly. And it's pretty freaking cool.

For an outfit I would have... I actually don't know what I want for an outfit. Haven't really thought about it.

 

But for a game mechanic I would have Double Jump like you said. Just thinking about sounds like the best thing ever.

 

And for a weapon I am stuck between the Portal gun from Portal and the Fire Flower from Super Mario Bros. Because teleporting places and burning things from my hand are the best things ever for me.

Hm, i guess i'd go with a jedi robe, because i like jedis, even if that isn't technically all that special .

 

As for mechanics I guess double jump.

 

And for weapons, definitely a lightsaber, i've always wanted one, and yes i'd want to not have it burn me alive when holding it .

Clothing: Ezio's robes, as they give the apparent ability to vanish from enemy sight just by entering a crowd or finding a bench.

 

Mechanic: The consumption of souls to restore vitality and heal wounds.

 

Weapon: Vigors ala Bioshock Infinite.

I was stuck between this and fall damage. I don't know but I guess If I ever needed to run away from something, I could go somewhere high and just jump off without having to worry about whatever is behind me being able to chase me. Meh.

Items I would take the Fierce Deity Mask from Majora's Mask. Even though technically I can't use it until a boss is present (self employment befits ho!) but I think it counts as an outfit

 

Ability would be wall jumping like in Mario 64. 

 

Weapon would probably be the warpstar.

Outfit/Weapon: Samus's Power Suit. It's kind of cheating since this is a weapon, multiple powers, and and outfit rolled up into one. Blaster beam with multiple modes, grapple hook, morph ball, double jump, screw attack, move freely through water, stay cool in the heat. It's got it all, plus it looks badass.

 

If I didn't cheat and just had to pick one game mechanic from video games, though - would probably have to go with the rewind ability from Braid. I don't know, maybe it would be a terrible power to actually have, and maybe it would end up just messing with your head and your perception of what reality is if you had the ability to rewind any mistake in some twisted attempt at a "perfect" life (a major theme of the game). But... the temptation and potential of that power could be extraordinary. It could also ruin your life and make you lose sight of what's real after years of being able to rewind anything you like. So much power, so much potential for it to go wrong... hmm.

Braid Spoilers:

 

 

I've read a lot of interpretations about how Braid is about the creation of the atomic bomb. In my opinion, the interpretations get it backwards. The bomb references reinforce certain themes of the game, the game isn't necessarily all about the atomic bomb. In this case, the bomb, as a technological pursuit of power unleashes a great potential for destruction. In a similar way, would the ability to rewind time be similar? Kind of like pandora's box, the pursuit of power and an improved life ultimately leads to chaos or destruction. But Braid explores that on a more personal level - examining what a pandora box myth would look like when it's about an individual, instead of society as a whole. This, personally, is what I got out of the game.

Outfit: I have two outfits in mind actually

1: My spartan armor from Halo Reach, because well....invincible badassness that's why. This is my actual armor, yeah halo waypoint. They choose such lame armor for Noble six, should have had my armor XD

2: Altairs Robes: These robes were the coolest robes in the Assassins creed series, hands down. They had to go and try to fix something that wasn't broken.

Mechanic: The Force, no dur, no reason to explain that one

Weapon: Lightsaber....no dur

I would take heal regen from gears of war, noting cooler then breaking something then 3 mins later you are right as rain!

Ability: No fall damage. You could bet people you can skydive without a parachute and win every time.

 

Weapon: The Portal Gun. I would set up a permanent set of portals from my home to my work, and save massive amounts on transportation costs. (Darn, ninja'd)

The game mechanic would be "no fall damage", i'd freak people out by jumping off of skyscrapers.

Varia suit. It's got a cannon, turns into a morph ball, shoots missles and ice beams. Plus it's constantly being upgraded. The only downside is that the suit tends to lose it's upgrades rather easily...

 

Reincarnation from Disgaea. How many times have you thought to yourself, "This is as good as I'm going to get" or "I've already hit the glass ceiling". When you've exhausted all your potential for growth or your progressing way too slowly, it's time to reincarnate and start leveling up again. Using reincarnation, you can finally acheive those power and skill levels you never thought were possible. 

 

A murakumo unit from BlazBlue, preferably one that I wouldn't have to worry would kill me. We could team up against my enemies or maybe just hang out. Aren't sentient weapons just the best?

I'd say that I'd opt for the Elite Advanced Suit from Dead Space 2

 

For game mechanics, definitely respawning. If you can't see why that would be useful you should probably reevaluate your priorities.

 

As for any weapon, well, I'd take the Type 25 Directed Energy Rifle.

I want the "main character always wins/gets the girl" mechanic. Life would be that much better.

 

As for outfits (and weapons), take a look at this guy:

 

 

Badass of the century. I want that outfit and his weapon (that metal glove on his right hand that also holds a ton of weaponry such as missiles, grenades and the detonator for an orbital laser beam of death.

 

...Purely for novelty purposes, I assure you.

 

Oh and I would like the physique to fill out the outfit properly. *Shifty eyes*

I would have to go with the Hero clothes from The Legend of Zelda, the double jump, and the mega buster with the adaption ability from Mega Man. The mega buster was the first weapon that came to mind so I probably could have done better with my weapon of choice.
