Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST, Reach, 4, Anniversary?

My favorites- 1, 2, 3.

Halo 1 and 2 were somewhat my childhood.

Used to play online like crazy on halo 2 when at my cousins house.

Halo 3 I remember my brother coming home with it when it came out, been playing it ever since halo reach came out and ruined the halo series by turning halo 3 into a deserted place of memories..

Kinda like hero factory and bionicle.

No offense to the people who like Reach and up. :/

Of the ones I've played:

Favorite is either Combat Evolved or 3, I really had fun playing Halo 1, but 3 made me like Master Chief a lot

Least is 2, it just kinda seemed there, it didn't really do much for me

so my list would be this

1.  halo 3

2.  halo 1

3.  halo reach

4.  halo 4

5.  halo ODST

6.  halo 2

i didn't like 2 that much actually. but still, the whole series is pureawsomeness to me.

and the anniversary was just a HD remake of halo combat evolved, right?

never really looked into that.

and reach is actually kinda on the same place as halo 1 on my list.

i really loved jorge in that one :P  don't really know why. he was just awesome with his chaingun.

1.) Halo 1 (My first ever Xbox game, it's what really sparked my love the series. Another fun fact is that even though everybody else seems to hate it, The Library is my favorite level)

2.) Halo 2 (Incredibly underrated, this is what got the story to the complexity that I just had to buy and read all of the books. Also has the best soundtrack in the series IMO)

3.) Halo 4 (Great multiplayer)

4.) Halo 3 (Meh, good campaign, I thought multiplayer was lacking)

5.) Halo 3: ODST (If only by merit of it's lack of replayability, while I find the other games' campaigns fun to replay, this is not the case with ODST)

6.) Reach (It just didn't bring anything really unique to the table and it's forge mode on the few maps that weren't forge-world like was absolutely PITIFUL)

Halo Combat Evolved, that's it. The other ones sucked. Sorry they just did. 2 had some good ideas, I loved holding 2 guns! the skulls around the campaign was cool, plays as the aliens was cool too but other then that is just feel short to me.

3, as mother told me "If you have noting nice to say don't say anything at all' so I'm not going to say a thing about it.

Reach, I cant say anything good about it...

4, I never played....never going to

ODST, it was kind of fun.. but a lot of bugs in Campaign, I had to redo a lot of levels because of bugs....

Halo: Combat Evolved (that's the first one, for those who are unfamiliar with the Halo series) is my favorite Halo by far. I've said this on other threads, but I've played it for the longest time and I still play it now. The gameplay is fantastic, the story is epic, and I simply love the Halo 1 feel as opposed to the other Halos.

Worst.. hmm. Never really thought about it, but I guess I'd say Reach. It just wasn't very different from Halo 3. If you look at the first 3 Halos, you will notice that they're all vastly different from one another in terms of graphics, gameplay, etc. Halo 4 wasn't drastically different from Halo 3 either, but I thought it was more enjoyable than Reach, since it got a brand new touch from 343 Industries.

Oh yeah, I should bring up the fact that I've never tried ODST, so I excluded that one from my choices.

1. Halo: Combat Evolved

2. Halo 4

3. Halo 3: ODST

4. Halo 3

5. Halo 2

6. Halo: Reach

7. Halo Wars

8. Halo: Spartan Assualt

I love them all though.  Plus, I mainly play the games for campaign and story.

My favorite Halo games are Halo: Reach, and Halo wars. Reach because I loved seeing the story revolve around other Spartans, and watching the fall of Reach was a powerful experience for me. Halo Wars is one of my favorites because I love Halo, and I love strategy games, and Halo Wars combined the two almost perfectly.

My least favorite Halo game would have to be Halo 3, for no reason other than the ending. The series was still amazing overall, but the ending, after everything leading up to it, was just disappointing to me.

I've got an idea! No..... No, wait; it's just a concussion....

Halo: Comabt Evolved would be my favourite Halo because of the wonderful gameplay and brilliant story (Only really outmatched by Reach imo) and the fact it was the first FPS I ever played so I suppose theres some nostalgic value there for me too.

I don't really have a worst Halo game but Halo Anniversary wasn't really that good and just seemed like an unneeded HD remake.

I have also not played ODST so i can't compare that with my choices.

Halo PC > all. Best multiplayer of the entire series. If you were stuck on console, I feel really bad for you.

Halo 2 was utter garbage, both as a game, and what it did FPS gaming trends. It spawned an entire generation of kids that think they're good at FPS when aim assist is actually doing all of the hard stuff for them, and those kids are great at making bank for game developers, so a huge chunk of popular FPS games drew off of those absolutely terrible gameplay designs.

6.) Reach (It just didn't bring anything really unique to the table and it's forge mode on the few maps that weren't forge-world like was absolutely PITIFUL)

Seriously?  Reach was an amazing game and an excellent gift from Bungie to the fans.  It was more stimulating than Halo 3, but not as totally crazy, hectic and complex as Halo 4.  Having sprint separate from other armor abilities was a good idea.  It kept the game's pace from getting too insane.  You can either choose to move fast, or have another ability.  It was really fun balancing teams with these loadouts.  I don't understand why people bitch about having a health bar;  I like to know what health i'm at.

Graphics were amazing for an Xbox game.  Everything was vibrant and well-detailed.  The lighting was better in Halo 3, however most of the textures of reach are superior.

The ranking system required dedicated playing, so that you couldn't boost (which really pissed me off in Halo 3)

I thoroughly enjoyed the campaign, the story actually has meaningful aspects to it such as self sacrifice.  I also liked the characters and the cutscenes.  Playing behind noble 6 really puts you in the game IMO.

I feel like people expected another carbon copy of Halo 3 and we're disappointed when new features we're added, even though they had their own value.  I don't understand how you can say that Reach didn't bring anything unique to the table.  It was the first Halo game to be built off of a completely new engine.  Halo 2 and 3 all felt really similar, they should be the ones criticized as not bringing anything unique to the table.  All people tend to bitch about is the maps, but I really don't care because a lot of the forge world maps were pretty good and Bungie came out with many map packs.

Favorite games in order:

Halo 3

Halo Reach

Halo 2 and Halo 4 tie.  (Even though I go through periods of hating Halo 4, and for good reasons.)

Halo CE (never finished)

Halo 3 ODST (Firefight is fun to do with your friends for a little while, but it can get boring)

I've been a fan of the Halo series ever since I was little and would play Halo on the Xbox with my cousins. Good times.

  1. Halo - Much nostalgic value. It's uniqueness and soundtrack is what got me into the series.
  2. Halo Reach - Just gonna say this now, Reach was a great game. Ranks, Forge, improved graphics, and a prequel to the first Halo!
  3. Halo 2 - I enjoyed the continuation, as well as the improved graphics and return of the Flood.
  4. Halo Wars - My first Halo-spinoff game. I loved this game for taking a new turn in ways to play Halo.
  5. Halo 3 - Halo 3 seemed a little off to me. It felt like playing a new game, but not in a good way. Everything was so mixed up to me.
  6. Halo 4 - Halo 4's storyline is the best aspect of the game. New enemies are good, but shooters seem to be the same nowadays.
  7. Halo 3: ODST - Yes, I did not enjoy ODST as much as I thought I would. Refer to number 5.

5, 6, and 7 are the ones that I dislike, but I don't hate them. If I was bored, I'd play them again, just for fun.

Reach had the best forge, halo 3 in my opinion had the best maps for forge, especially for zombies since Halo 3s forge took more time and skill to mesh things together, things usually were good.

Multiplayer I'd choose halo 3 because I played the crap out of Halo 3, I was like 2 achievements away from recon armor lol

Reach

Halo 3

Halo 2

Halo CE Anniversary

Halo 1

Halo 3 ODST

Halo 4

I loved Halo Reach so much, not so much the story line but the endless hours I would spend playing with friends,

Halo 4 just went a little to far off the grid. The whole Promethean thing was pretty stupid and the ending was a big let down.

I dislike Halo reach and Halo 4, probably because I used to play Halo 1-3 all the time back then.

I just don't see a upside in Halo 4 except that Master Chief has returned.

Halo Reach, don't get me started on that monstrosity.

Halo 2 Is like the Fredo Corleone of the series so that has to be my least favorite. and i had the most fun with Halo 3 just because i found all the skulls and it was the first i beat on legendary. But my personal favorite was Halo because of the Nostalgia Factor and the first flood encounter. That was my favorite Level.

That was my favorite level too, quite scary when I played it the first time.

The setting of the level was spooky to, make you wonder why everything is dead.

Halo 1 had the best campaign in my opinion.

Oh boy.

  1. Halo 2
  2. Halo: Combat Evolved/Anniversary Edition
  3. Halo 3
  4. Halo 4
  5. Halo 3: ODST
  6. Halo: Reach
  7. Halo Wars

Halo 2 - I loved the campaign. The broadened story was intriguing. The physics of the game ran a lot smoother than CE. I never got to play multiplayer, though.

Halo: CE/CEA = A classic, but not my favorite. There's a ton in it that would pass for mediocre if it was released today, but for 2001 it was amazing. I never got to play its multiplayer either, though.

Halo 3 - A decent way to end the trilogy. I was disappointed that they dropped much of the Arbiter's story. I got to play multiplayer and I consider it mediocre.

Halo 4 - Fun to play. A ton of improvements over Reach, particularly as regards the innovations Bungie made. 343i got them to fit much better into the overall gameplay. The largest downside to the story I found to be the presupposed knowledge of the Halo books. I enjoy the books but I would have hoped to get something that can stand alone in how it presents the story. The multiplayer is my favorite of the series. My stats :V

Halo 3: ODST - A nice spin-off. The quasi-open world gameplay implemented and Firefight were nice editions. I don't know what the hell is up with grenade throwing in this game, though. It takes some adjusting to handle your guy flinging his grenade in the air.

Halo: Reach - Overall, I consider Reach a good game, but so far as my expectations went, this was the most disappointing Halo game I've ever played. The characters were annoying. I don't understand why they would give 4 out of the six main characters really gross sounding accents, and give your character either a generic male or female voice. It didn't feel much like a dramatic battle, either. More like you killing aliens while the rest of the planet sits on their asses. Multiplayer was fun, but as I mentioned somewhere above, Bungie's innovations didn't run very smoothly. Also, when Kat got a round through her head, I couldn't help but think "FINALLY!". I shed no tears for Noble Team.

Halo Wars - A mediocre RTS, but surprisingly fun.

Halo: Spartan Assault - LOL Windows 8. Still haven't played it.
