The Anglerfish from The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening.

This guy was terribly unoriginal and terribly easy to beat. I just seriously wish they put more effort into making this guy.

I found the Gears of War 2 final boss to be a little too easy. I mean you're just flying in circles around him shooting giant ass lasers at him? Sure, visually it was an awesome battle but difficulty-wise it was a little lame.

Ganon from the original Legend of Zelda was quite disappointing

The most disappointing boss I've come across so far has to be Letz Shake from No More Heroes

There are spoilers for the story in this video, as well as a lot of f bombs and other such language (like at 4:25)

Tbf, they did bring back Letz Shake in No More Heroes 2, though it wasn't a very fun fight compared to the rest of the bosses, so I don't think he was much of a loss

Just about every boss from the game Seek and Destroy, with the exception of only two. There was an unnecessarily fast flail-wielding boss who spawned motherfucking tornadoes, and a lightning-quick boss in a mission in a pitch dark cave. These were the only two that required any sort of skill to defeat.

This game was full of those multi-stage bosses. You know, the ones where you wipe out their health and then they transform and you have to do it all over again? Yeah. That was the only thing that kept them from taking less than two minutes. The final boss fight was a triple-stage battle in which the first to stages were laughably easy and the third stage was just annoying. To defeat the third stage, one had to hit a tiny area at the base of the boss multiple times (which was a feat in itself, as one's shot was often blocked by the kamikaze drones that the boss was constantly spawning). This would eventually cause the boss to collapse, at which time one could actually begin to do some real damage to the motherfucker. One had to repeat this process five or six times to defeat the boss. While the fight may have taken quite a bit of time, as long as the player was even partially competent, the boss couldn't even touch them.

Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE this game. It's one of the few that I regularly go back to. I've beat it countless times, and I had just as much fun doing it each time. But, for most of the game, the required skill level really is about as close to zero as one can get.

I have yet to buy No More Heroes 2. Whenever I find myself in the position to get it, I always wind up buying something else instead.

Easily the most disappointing boss I ever had was the final boss at the end of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. The Biolizard.

500px-Finalhazardfront.png

Both parts of this battle were a disappointment. I mean, I played the whole game through as both the heroes AND the villains, played the long-a** final story mission, and this was the epic boss I got? A giant mutated lizard thing that stands in a giant pool of what looks like its own urine, and which had no prior connection or mention in the story up until that point? I mean, the battle is a bore, irritating, and just not fun. At least 'Live and Learn' plays when you do the final part of the battle, so that makes it a little better...

TBH While I agree. They do explain how he was weakened, and how the dragonborn (and the other heroes) were supposed to be basically on par or better than him...

If anything the guy from the Dragonborn expansion was a let down.. Not only was it a terribly buggy fight, He was barely a real challenge despite having the dragons on his side..

It didn't help the arena you fight him in was so small, and there was no real build up to get to him aside from a lot of bloated threats...

The side missions in that expansion are more entertaining for crying out loud...

True very true, he was a disappointment. Getting to him was a lot more difficult then fighting him XD. And not only that but the whole fast travel on a dragon was soo freaking lame -.-

I have two. Both from Infinity Blade.

The first is the Dark Knight:

post-19338-0-10918400-1383191258_thumb.jpg

This gut was name ant to be the best knight and guardian of the God King. He was supposed to be the hardest boss ever.

Let's just say that he's so weak that you get an achievement called "baby" for losing to him. Ouch.

The next is Ryth from Infinity Blade II:

Good Lord, if you don't know the gold glitch, this guy takes a lifetime to get to. He was meant to be a secret final boss to the game. He was meant to be really hard, like the Dark Knight. And he was. But his moves were predictable, and he was a bland boss.

Dracula (Castlevania II: Simon's Quest):

Two words: "Sacred Flame."

Redd White (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney):

One Contradiction, and he was already breaking down. The only real challenge came from Miles Edgeworth bailing this guy out over and over again. This was the guy who indirectly created Godot?! I'd be "hotter and more bitter than Hell itself," too!

I find Saddler from Resident Evil 4 a tad dissapointing. I mean, it's not a bad bossfight by any means, but for being the final boss in a game full to the brim with fantastic and breathtaking bossfights, it's a bit too easy and dissapointing. The mechanics of the fight are certainly interesting as you have to both shoot out the eyes on his legs and take advantage of the environment to get a chance to hurt him, but it's all so easy to take advantage of by that point in the game that it's just a tad dissapointing of a fight almost because of its mechanics.

Oh, and Ganondorf in Zelda Twilight Princess. I mean, you've got 4 consecutive boss fights in a row here- the classic sword tennis match with possessed Zelda, a showdown with beast Ganon, a horseback chase, and a swordfight. The problem is, none of them are hard. I mean, the beast Ganon fight is probably the best one since you have to use both human and Wolf Link to win, but the horseback chase can be a bit frustrating at times I've found, and the final swordfight is just way too easy. I still love the game to death but its bosses are not its strong point, especially the final one, they are fun but probably some of the easiest in gaming history.

Nihilanth

Man, Half-Life! What a great game! For three-quarters of the way through, anyway. Then you get to the world of Xen, at which point all of Valve's cool, innovative ideas run dry and you're stuck dealing with ugly enemies and cheesy traps in a boring world made of throbbing purple meat. Xen reaches its miserable climax with the Nihilanth encounter.

This is completely appropriate, because Nihilanth is the living embodiment of everything stupid about the final levels of Half-Life. His design is both ridiculous and trite (he's a giant floating space fetus). His attacks are cheaply powerful but predictable and easy to avoid (thus you spend most of your time hiding behind a rock pillar). Oh, and it's a stupid gimmick battle. Not a gimmick like the cool tentacle boss from earlier in the game that has to be destroyed by activating a rocket engine to burn it to a crisp; that was awesome. No, it's just that Nihilanth is invincible until you blow up the magic crystals that line its lair. I remember doing something like that a few years before Half-Life when I fought Ozzie in Chrono Trigger, but in that case Square's designers had the decency to admit that it was a silly mechanic for a boss battle and turned the whole fight into a joke battle. The Nihilanth encounter is a joke, too, but not in the sense that we were laughing with Valve. No, we were laughing at them... when we weren't crying about how quickly this brilliant shooter went downhill, that is.

The Sisters, from Hitman: Absolution. Those were the highly-inappropriate stripper nuns in some of the marketing. After they blow up 47's motel room, they basically wander the area going "Where is he? Find him already, you incompetent buffoons!!"

This is kind of standard fare for Hitman, except that the game had described them as being the agency's most elite, highly trained killers. I guess I'd expect them to at least check inside the overturned icebox before declaring that 47 has "vanished"

But just to add some positiveness, I recall Mr. Freeze from Arkham City as being a particularly memorable boss. I liked that it forced players to use a variety in their attacks. "That strategy will never work again, Bat-Man."

Sigma in Megaman X6 was disgustingly easy, I get that he's supposed to be half-dead but come on.

That said the notion that it has the best Final Boss theme almost makes up for it.

Almost

Borderlands 2, Wilhelm.
I was sooo looking forward to the fight. They had talked about the mighty Wilhelm through the entire game, you know? So I'm thinking he's gonna be freakin' awesome to fight. And... he went down like nothing. It was super pathetic. My sister and I were just like: " >_> "

yes im totally reviving a dead thread

Sigma from Megaman X6. Most of the bosses in that game were pretty much pushovers, but when I heard that epic boss theme, I was expecting more

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

1. A number of the side quest bosses weren't as imposing as their backstories lead you to believe, and some were just recolored fae.

2. The one who we thought was the main boss never really had the presence that an Alduin or Sauron. As a tyrant taking over a throne, he just...lacked something.

3. The actual main boss was way too easy, and never had a presence in the game at all.

I loved Amalur for what it was, but it had it's flaws. Still, I'd recommend it.

Yeah, Sigma was a pussy in that game, quite surprising, considering that in the previous games he is always a tough opponent, SPECIALLY GAMMA SIGMA FROM X5  .

Well, as mentioned previously, Twilight Princess was pretty weak in the boss department, a bad start for the WII, and it didn't got much better from there

Speaking of WII, Mario Galaxy 2 not only was awful,  it's final boss  made me  say "that's it". I basically rage quit the game (didn't bothered with the green stars), but also with the console remaining life cycle, I didn't  spent another dime on it after that >_>
