Onylex 2,837 January 26, 2014 Author Share January 26, 2014 I have two. The first is actually a story my dad told me. He used to hang out at his friends house which was deep into the woods, far away from anyone else. He claims that one late afternoon his friend's dog ran out into the woods, then shortly after returned barking and yelping loudly with strange claw/bite marks on its side. They started to investigate into the woods when they heard an incredibly loud screeching yelp. They moved forward for a few more minutes. Soon after they saw an enormous, dark haired creature standing upright walking through the brush and stepping over a fallen tree. He estimates that the creature was at least 8 feet tall, maybe 9. Terrified, they ran away back into the house. To this day he has no idea what it was and has never seen anything like it since. The second occurred one night at around 2 AM a couple years ago. I was sleeping and woke up in the middle of the night. I peered out the window I was sleeping next to and noticed a strange, blue and green light in the distance. It slowly moved to the left and right before flying off at an insane speed. Im going to have nightmares form that story... *Shivers down my spine*

Jackleberry 1,923 January 26, 2014 Share January 26, 2014 (edited) Hmm, let me think ... ah, I've got one. I was young at the time, I'm not sure how young, maybe like 9-12 years old or something. I believe I was home alone, or just the only person within the house at least, in the same house I live in today in fact. I was just playing on the computer in the basement, as I usually did/do, when I felt something tap my shoulder ... and then my other shoulder, in quick succession. I sat there for a moment, trying to shrug it off, but gosh I was scared, so I basically GTFO up the stairs faster than ever. Still not sure what it was, maybe just my nerves or something, I don't know. Either way, it scared the fox out of me when it happened. xD Ooh, and there's this other time, not really a 'paranormal' story, but it still nearly gave me a fucking heart attack (I don't usually swear, but gosh darnit). Anyways, it was late at night, and I think I was still just as young. I was getting ready for bed, but I realised that I forgot my blanket in the kitchen (I'm not sure why it was there in the first place *Shrugs*). So, I went to go get it, and I kid you not, as I walked into the kitchen, lights off and everything, the freakin' blanket, as it was hanging off the top of a chair, looked like a god damn ghost to me, and I was scared shizless of ghosts and such at the time. I froze up, and my heart started pounding harder than ever. xD Edited January 26, 2014 by Sir Jackleberry ~ ♫ 3rd Eye | To suffer hate in search of love, or lose them both forever? 🎔 ~

Retired Commissar 305 February 23, 2014 Share February 23, 2014 The only creepy experience I can recall at this moment was 2 years ago. We were staying in Ottawa, and on the last night I got sick, and had a big ass fever. My head hurt so bad, and I started to hallucinate in the hotel. I saw a whole bunch of people having a party, then the scene switched to someone being murdered, I really couldn't explain it, but I started freaking out, and my parents were like,"Dafuq you doin' kid" And were trying to calm me down.I really don't know what the hell that was, but that's the only one I can recall. Live Forever 316 September 8, 2014 Share September 8, 2014 Gathering at a friends house. Few of them decided to have fun with an Ouja board. Tried summoning the spirit of a dead band member. When they did, the record starting playing 'Highway to Hell'. True story. Another time, a cat also wouldn't enter a room I was in. Forced in it and it screeched like crazy. It turns out a woman hung herself there many years ago. Can't explain the Highway to Hell thing, but the cat story is easy to explain. You see, cats have amazing senses of smell, and they can smell dead bodies after it has left the room a hundred years before. That cat must have smelled the rotten carcass and decided that he was scared shitless. Don't blame him. Rarity is the best thing in my life. Where would I be without her? Hocus Pocus 636 January 21, 2015 Share January 21, 2015 (edited) whew... where to start with this one... I've had quite a few strange occurrences happen to me. Heck, our family in general (especially on my mom's side) seems to have a lot of stuff happen to them. I probably shouldn't dump every single paranormal story I have here (I'd be up all night typing it) so I'll go for my ghost story. I attended high school at Springfield High School in Illinois. SHS is actually a haunted school, it was built on top of an ex-cemetery, and apparently they missed a few bodies when they were moving the caskets and tombstones; or at least one... To make things even creepier, a series of labrynth-like tunnels was built running beneath the school complete with hidden passageways. There were several entrances to "The Dungeon" (as we humorously called it) from the first floor. Nobody knows why they were built, though I personally speculate that they were probably made as some sort of security measure of bomb shelter as a result of the paranoia during the cold war, I mostly think this because the uniform storage room for the marching band was rumored to be a blast shelter built for that very purpose. (but hey, never let the truth get in the way of a good story, so it's more fun to just still think of it as "nobody knows"). The dungeons weren't completely impractical, as there were a few rooms in it that actually served some sort of purpose. The two that come to mind are the kitchen (one of the entrances to the dungeons), and the boiler room (located much deeper in the labyrinth of concrete tunnels. Everything was fine at SHS until they decided to install an elevator, and when they were digging the elevator shaft, they hit an old tombstone which read "OUR DAUGHTER" on the top, and "CUT DOWN BUT NOT DESTROYED" on the faceplate. Not really knowing what to do with it, (after all, they had moved all the rest of the bodies and tombstones long ago) they put the tombstone in the boiler room where it sits to this very day... However, paranormal events didn't start occurring until a newspaper reporter came to write an article on the find. The faculty lead him to the boiler room, where he attempted to pick up the tombstone, but its weight caught him off guard and he dropped it, breaking a large chunk off of it. Ever since then, night-time staff and some students have reported seeing a ghostly figure of a little girl in a flowered dress, as well as various other reports paranormal activity. The school has taken to calling the ghost "Rachel" and it's a pretty big part of the school now, almost iconic. Rachel is a rather mischievous ghost, moving chairs that the janitor just staged (almost all paranormal activity is reported in the auditorium, in the halls by the elevator, in the dungeons [mostly the boiler room] and in the band room, which is in the basement and is the closest room to the boiler room that isn't in the dungeons) as well as turning off the lights in the auditorium, moving the elevator when nobody calls for it (there was a 2-week period where the elevator doors would open every time I walked by them, which caused me to nope past it as fast as I could for the rest of the year), and appearing in the halls and boiler room. My encounter with her (or should I say the band's encounter, since it happened to all of us) started as any good ghost story does. On a dark and stormy day! (I know, it should be a dark and stormy night, but why would the band be at the school alone at night?) The SHS marching band is prestigious to say the least (we actually march as part of a Disney World parade once every 4 years, and can I just say being allowed to skip a few days of class to go to Disney world with the band was the BEST!) so we went on quite a few field trips. The down side to that was that some of those field trips weren't during the normal school semesters. Well, the downside wasn't really the field trip itself, but the fact that we had to meet at the school over the summer just to practice for a field trip we would be taking later on in the month. The weather outside was, as I said earlier, dark and stormy. It was mid-day in June, and shortly after we started the practice session, a really bad storm rolled in. We were even under a tornado warning for part of it! Which the teacher claimed not to hear the sirens and had us keep playing anyway... (to be fair, we were in the basement, so we were pretty safe as is). Aaaanywho, so we had just finished practicing our memory march (the song everyone memorizes for our parades because we didn't want to look unprofessional by attaching sheet music to our marching instruments at a big event like the one we were practicing for) and the teacher told us to get ready to practice the national anthem. She turned her music to the proper sheet and began to count off, but just as she did, the power went out. Everyone assumed it was just the storm outside at the time. It was really dark in the room since the clouds blocked the sun, and the only thing you could see were the windows. I saw a small, faintly glowing orb over where the door was after the power went out. I thought it was just that glowy thingy you see whenever you shut your eyes or you suddenly go from bright light to darkness/dim light that looks kinda like a doughnut, but sometimes just looks like a circle, and then it gets really bright if you rub your eyes (does anypony else have that too? Because nopony else I've talked to has any idea what I'm talking about when I bring that up). Then something really weird happened, I saw it start to move. The glowing doughnut/circle that I see whenever I closed my eyes has never moved, and always stays in the center of my vision. But this one moved. It was really dim, so I thought my mind was just playing tricks on me. The glowing ball moved to the center of the room where the teacher was standing, and then the lights turned back on. The teacher then quieted everyone down since all focus was lost with the brief power-loss. And she quicklygot us back on track to play the national anthem. She looked down at her music and exclaimed "Hey! Who messed with my sheet music!" The papers had been flipped back to "Symbol of Honor" our memory march that we had just finished playing. Apparently Rachel wanted an encore, because the blackout only lasted a few seconds. There was no way even the closest sitting student to the teacher could have ran up to the front blindly without tripping, changed flipped her sheet music without making noise, and then blindly run back to their seat without making a ton of noise! Apparently I was the only one who saw the glowing ball, but it wasn't rocket science to put together it was Rachel. After all, the band room was one of her hotspots for activity! The band requested we give Rachel the encore she wanted and re-play the song, but the band teacher, being the down-to-business type insisted we kept going and made us play the national anthem anyway. Nothing happened after that, the practice went on as expected, and then we all went home in the rain. But of course, the reports of Rachel's activity continue to this day. I have quite a few more stories of paranormal events that happened to me, but again, typing all of them here would be WAAAAY too big of a post, so if you want to hear anything more, feel free to send me a message asking about them Edit: Talked to one of my old teachers, apparently I got some of the information on what the tombstone said and when exactly it was cracked incorrect. Always check your facts, kids! History lesson on the school and the tomb stone has now been corrected. Scrubbed user 3,416 January 21, 2015 Share January 21, 2015 There is actually a ghost in my house, so I've had a few small encounters with it (a small knock or a small flash of light in the corner of my eye here and there), but the only noticeable ones where this one time I did see it in a mirror in my room that showed it walking around in my brother's room. The other was a bit more substantial. I was trying to go sleep one night, but I couldn't because I could feel it's presence in my room. I never actually tried to look at it, but the air around was cold, so I knew it was right behind me. It eventually left, but my mind was still freaking out, so I only got just a couple hours of sleep that night. I've never seen, heard, or felt it again. I don't know if it left or it's staying away. I never once believed it was malicious, but if something can see you, but you can't see it, it's pretty unnerving.

Ricebug 555 January 22, 2015 Share January 22, 2015 I hear my name whispered to me at night, pokes and jabs when no one is near me. Shadows run by on the wall. I have felt cold air even in the summer. The worst part I get to go into a concrete basement at night to take the trash out :/. I have felt my mothers beds drapes move and nothing was there to move them, no air coming in. I have dropped things at my feet bent down to try and look for them and they are gone, then look and see them on a table or something where I didnt drop them, or things disappear completely. And I swear I saw something in the bathroom late at night, it was really light blue but It was just out the corner of my eye. And my sister watched a red light hover over her closet for an hour and it just disappeared, and we dont have any red lights here. I might like be a wimp when this happens and hide XD But it really peaks my interest I fully believe in the existence of spirits, ghosts, demons, etc.
MLPFanatic34 3,234 January 22, 2015 Share January 22, 2015 I've had two weird experiences with the paranormal: the first one was when I was watching TV and typing on my computer in the TV room and all of a sudden my Wii came on even though I hadn't turned it on and there was no one else in the room. The main menu for the Wii appeared on the television and started flickering. The other experience I had was I was in my bedroom and it was very cold in one section of the room, but normal temperature in the rest. Then when I left to go eat dinner and came back, the temperature was normal for the whole bedroom.
Leonard Smix 421 January 22, 2015 Share January 22, 2015 When i was younger, we had this cat that i absolutely adored.. One day, i found out that she went to the vet due to a serious condition on her skin.. Later, i found out that he had passed away at the vet, and i was torn. However, for the next couple months, i would hear a slight "meow" only from my room, even after i was over the death. This continued until i moved.. still makes me wonder.
Ruddboy Olaf 10,628 January 22, 2015 Share January 22, 2015 (edited) My grandparents own this farmhouse that's a two story. The first floor is normal, but the upstairs always had this creepy feeling. When people would go up there, they feel like they're being watched when no one was there. No joke. Everyone who went up there felt the same thing I did. Felt like people were watching them. And the attic was especially creepy. It was 100 degrees in there. Even in the middle of Winter. Not only that, but me and my cousins saw a black shadowy figure enter the attic from the roof. It had red eyes and it was human shaped. This is a true story. Oh,and I also photographed some orbs in Tombstone,AZ. But,that's it for me. CuriousPony 157 January 23, 2015 Share January 23, 2015 (edited) I was on an internship in Florida, about a thousand or so miles away from my home. My grandpa had been in and out of the hospital, and we knew he was just getting too old, you know? So one night, I dreamed that he was dying, and my family was rushing to see him before he died. But for reasons I can't remember, I got held up in the dream and I missed it. Then I found a trapdoor. When opened, it lead to darkness and fog. The smell and vibe of death filled the void below. I could feel something evil lurking in there. I freaked out and backed away from it. That's all I remember. I woke up around... 2am, I think? Pretty disturbed, but hey, nightmares are nightmares. Three days later, I was waiting for the bus. My mom calls me. Asks me how I'm doing, how the internship's going, you know, the usual. Then she pauses, gets quiet, and says, "you need to know.. grandpa grandpa (what we called him) died." I sat straight up. "WHEN." "Three days ago. Early in the morning, around 2am." Another time, when I was in high school, I had the room that was... weird. Sometimes I would wake up with the very intense feeling that someone was watching me. Only inches away from my head. Something... unpleasant. So I'd stay perfectly still, and try to pretend it wasn't there. I knew if I turned, something bad would happen, as if something were there, waiting for me to turn my head and see it. I always felt a presence in the room. Nowhere else in the house. Only in that one room. That one room also had the only entrance to the attic, hidden in the closet. On one particularly windy day, I could hear scratching (which really, was heard throughout the house on many occasions, so we figured it was the squirrels that were all over the neighborhood) more than usual, and I noticed the thin, wooden board that was placed over the opening to the attic was flapping. It hadn't ever done that before, even on windier days. So, being the intelligent person I am, I got a chair, opened the closet, and stood on top of it so I could reach the wooden board. I called out.. "Ghosty? Ghoooosty...." No response. No more flapping. I gently began to raise the board, thinking maybe a raccoon was in there if it wasn't the ghost/spirit/being/whatever, and it might scuttle away, proving that there was nothing out of the ordinary. Suddenly, the board lifted itself up, and SLAMMED back down. I decided that the spirit obviously didn't want to be bothered, so I said, "okay. You wanna be alone. That's cool," and got down from the chair. The wooden board never moved again. A year or so ago, my parents moved into a new house, only a few minutes from that old house. Close, sure, but the neighborhood was a LOT better. I was still living with them at the time. Some of my parents church friends came to help move things in, and I got into a conversation about ghosts with one of them. Everyone else rolled their eyes at us, but psh, we didn't care. I don't remember why we started that conversation. But I do know that I had a weird feeling about that basement from the first day we moved in... It had been a few months since that day. We were much more settled, and the usual schedule was in place. My mom wanted everyone in bed by 10pm. Being like, twenty-one, I decided to make myself exempt from that rule, and snuck down to the basement to play Minecraft, since all the gaming consoles were down there (and at the time we only had Minecraft on the Xbox). I also stole some cookies to bring down with me. I sat down on the floor in front of the loveseat, and began playing. If you've ever played Minecraft, you've probably heard the story of Herobrine. If you haven't, he's basically the ghost of Minecraft. Every once in a while, an unnerving violin screech plays. It always catches me off guard, mostly because it doesn't happen too often. It did that night though, and while my thoughts went to the usual Herobrine stories, it creeped me out a little more than usual, being that I was in the dark basement late at night all by myself. But I shrugged it off, and kept playing. A while later, I had completely forgotten about it. I was working on building something, adding to my ever-growing list of weird things I like to build in the game. When suddenly, something extremely chilling happened. I heard a small voice behind me. It was sudden, and not one I'd ever heard before. I wasn't entirely sure what it said. Either "leave" or "please." But it was the voice of a little boy. A toddler. Nothing in Minecraft talks. And my brothers weren't young enough to sound like that. Besides, it came from the loveseat, as if someone were sitting behind me, watching me play. In an instant, I somehow instinctively knew that it was past the little ghost boy's bedtime, and I was keeping him up. Without a word, I turned off the game, grabbed the few cookies that I had left, and speed walked up the stairs. I left a cookie on the counter in the kitchen, as a peace offering, in case that was something he had wanted. My parents found it the next day and were furious when I explained what happened. They told me not to speak of it again, afraid it would freak out my youngest brother (though it didn't, he told me so. He doesn't believe in ghosts). A month or so later, my mom got mad at me for listening to my music late at night (even though I was in my room with the door shut, and I was using my earbuds). She told me to listen to it in the basement. I didn't want to, 'cause of what had happened before, but she had me do it anyway. Things were fine at first. Eventually I got bored with my music, and laid down on the loveseat, taking my headphones out and playing with whatever apps on my phone interested me. A little past midnight, there was a sudden CRASH! Knowing exactly who had caused it, I lept off the loveseat, glancing around to see what'd happened. The mirror that had been leaning up against the wall (but hadn't been hanging) had fallen. I would've rationalized that it'd just slowly slipped down the wall, but after closer inspection, I realized that the mirror had been flipped over, and it would've been impossible for it to land the way it did. That confirmed my suspicions. I immediately went upstairs. To this day, I avoid going into the basement after 10pm. I've also had faucets turn out by themselves, doors creak open for no reason, I've been glared at by a freaky demon ghost cat while walking home one night (that I never saw again), there was a strange ufo sound that showed up twice at exactly 12 o'clock midnight (once under my bed, and another in my brother's closet, and each time I looked for the source, but found absolutely nothing), my computer's turned on by itself, I've had things disappear and reappear, I've had cups leap out at me when I open the cupboard... .... I always forget how many paranormal things happen to me until I start listing them all. Good lord, this is a looooong post. I.. I'm sorry. Edited January 23, 2015 by Glitter Moon Me in a nutshell. KatonRyu 1,033 January 29, 2015 Share January 29, 2015 I don't have a story as long some of the others here, but it happened years ago and the image never left me despite not being very shocking. The house I used to live in was on a rectangular cul-de-sac with houses on the side the road entered, and a parking lot on the far side, that had a single lamp post beneath which garbage cans could be placed for collection, but usually it was just part of the parking lot. One night I was in our kitchen when I looked out of the window, and while I was watching I saw shadow walking through the light of lamp post. It was human-shaped, and seemed to be wearing a hat. The odd thing was that the 'hat' part of the shadow was closest to the lantern, which really wouldn't happen if a person had been walking there. There was nothing, no tree branch, animal or person, that could have cast that shadow. I've heard similar stories of shadow people before, so who knows. A less interesting, more mundane possibility is that simply imagined it, because I was about 12 at the time. I still believe I saw it, though. FeatherNight 35 January 29, 2015 Share January 29, 2015 Two houses ago, we lived in a house where my mom and a roommate claim had a ghost or spirit from a war and another angry husband. I had no experiences here myself, though my mom did. The house after that had an old woman in it, a couple people claimed to see her in the kitchen window when we would sot outside. But one night I did see a kind of orb or ball with a white aura coming up the stairs to the open bedrooms. Where I live now has no ghosts or spirits that really wanna play, but there's a lot of spirits in the woods across the street. Some nights I get the eeriest feeling and won't even take my dog out. The winds will howl over there in particular, I just know its something bad. ): I don't know what it is just yet, but it really scares me sometimes. I'm a witch and learning of shamanism, these are just stories that are most believable and won't make me sound like a loon, lol.
