Who hates MLP before, but love it now

Due to popularity. Well......

 

I tried to watch episode 1 in youtube. It was an amazing experience!

Now I continue watching all season one to three!

I am now a brony!

 

How about you guys? Do you used to hate MLP but loved it now or you love it before and now?

I got to admit, that I didn't really like MLP at first but it started to grow on me. I wasn't really fond of Season Three though, but I'll stick with the show through thick and thin.

I was probably somewhere in the middle. I didn't really hate the show at first but I was pretty skeptical when it emerged in early 2011 and didn't really understand how people liked it.

 

But yeah then I watched an episode and started to like it so I became a fan around that time and it all goes up from there.

I was a skeptic. I held a neutral position, condemning both hater and brony for being crazy and irrational. I suppose that could be considered a hate in the way, hating both sides...

 

Then I watched S1E1 and was pretty much won over instantly to my dismay

 

(on a side note... what a weird word, hating. I had to check it to make sure I wasn't referring to the act of making hats...)

I didn't really hate it as such as much as I would hate Jedward. 

 

I kinda disliked the Futurama crossover art of Futurama characters as Ponies. Ironically, I now love the Futurama crossover art of Futurama.

 

I now even write crossover fan fiction of of Futurama and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.

I always maintained an open mind, so no to your question, I liked the show ever since I first heard of it/seen it. I wasn't really into it as much as I am now of course, but I was still somewhat of a 'fan' and enjoyed watching it whenever it happened to be on TV, I even enjoyed the thought of becoming a brony myself (though I was a bit shy at first, as I am with a lot of things).

 

I wasn't one of those people who immediately thought "How could a grown man like a show for little girls?" or anything of the sort.

I thought the notion of bronydom was kind of ridiculous but I kept my mouth shut because it doesn't pay to act like a dick on the internet.

 

When I eventually watched an episode on YouTube (S3Ep10) I was like...Fluttershy is awesome, I had issues with it though partly because that episode the resolution happens to quickly and partly because coming into a new show toward the end of the 3rd season is never a good idea. A week or two later I watched it from episode one and was like... I'm never going back.

Season had a lot of issues It kept setting up plot points and then resolving them far too quickly, ie discord. Some of the ponies acted out of character at times and the final episode didn't feel like MLP at all, nor did it make any sense for the most part.

 

I hope Series 4 is better. I also look forward to whatever overblown drama S4 will bring the community. That's always amusing to see. ^^

I never hated it. I thought it was a little weird. My first exposure to MLP:FIM was at an anime con, and the dude running it was like 40 and he was wearing a Pinkie Pie Shirt. I was just like "Huh. Ponies are popular now. Cool!" I then proceeded to give the show a chance about a year later, and I loved it!

I wouldn't go and say hate it, was always along the lines of "Well mlp is a show for little girls" and never thought twice about it until i finaly gave in to the fact i was seeing it everywhere and finaly say down and watched it ih and i always thought brony's were just a lil strange, i was wrong for the most part

I never hated it, but i was curious but i tried it for myself.. no one told me about it i just saw a few clips in youtube and voila i like it especially pinkie pie smile song.. i was like that does it i love the show.. i didn't even know the Brony term existed that time.. i just loved the show.. then i got a bit confused whether it was right but then i realised that the show is innocent and since i like the old school Disney even now as a young adult and  i realised that this show resonates towards me as a Christian all doubts ended.

I never hated it, but before I joined, I was exposed to a lot of the flamboyant and overbearing members of the fandom, this led me to dislike the fandom at first. Once I watched the show and actually became a part of the fandom, I found out that that group makes up only a very small part of an otherwise great fandom.

I never hated the show for the fandom, I was little surprised about the age range across the fandom however when I first learned of it. I only started watching it when folks started doing cross-over stuff into things I was into at the time. Leading me intp actually giving an episode a try.

I may have been shocked and confused as to why so many teenagers and adults were into a show about cartoon ponies but just dismissed as a tad strange but harmless. As someone who grew up with Autism I have had people make fun of me for my various quirks for years and just couldn't bring myself to do the same thing to bronies. I kept hearing all the arguments about them being homosexual pedophile man children and couldn't take any of them seriously. What made me finally give the show a chance was I just had to find out if Discord really was as awesome as my friend said he was and when I found out that was the case I thought that maybe the show had something to it after all. Does my friend know me well or what, not only was he right that I would like Discord and MLP but he was also right that I would like Applejack.

As for me, I initially lol'd at the idea of grown-ass men watching a little girl's show. But in time, I grew to be more accepting.

Heck yes I was, I was REALLY Ignorant. I called it gay,stupid,I called all bronies cloppers, Etc. I watched the first episode once and thought it was shitty. Then my friend was talking about it then I decided to watch it one more time and I loved it (for some reason).

When I first heard about it, I thought it was a little odd teenagers and adults liked it but I didn't give it much thought beyond that. One day I was bored and the thought randomly poped in my mind so I decided to watch it to see what the popularity was all about. I had my little pony toys when I was little and I'm a girl so I was very open minded going in to it. Before I even watched it I said I would watch a few episodes before judging. I thought it was kinda girly when I watched the first episode, but I kept watching, and watching, and watching, and then I fell in love with the characters and yeah..

 

I didn't give it much thought other than thinking it was a little weird so I didn't hate it or love it before I watched it.

I never hated FIM, I had the typical hate for franchises aimed for girls in general as a kid though, but since that was way before FIM, it might not count. I was kind of aware of the fandom before, but I gave zero fucks, I've seen enough weird stuff in internet to concern myself at guys liking MLP. that's it, until a college classmate came and told me to watch the show. I was skeptical, but he kept insisting. I finally gave a shot and eventually, I LOVE MLP FIM

I didn't understand all the hype about it since I was first exposed to it. I just thought it was another internet fad that would get old quick and die off like Nyan Cat, but it didn't so I somehow got sucked into it as well.

well i never disliked FiM the reson i never watched it was becues i was thinking it was just like the 70's verson of mlp but i think it was that way for a lot of people .

I wouldn't say that I necessarily hated it before I watched it, but I was very confused.  When I first found out that MLP was being rebooted, my main concern was that its atrocious theme song (from the originals) would get stuck in my head, as it had periodically over the years.  I also can't say that I was a fan of the franchise either.  It was a while before I found out that there was a rather sizable fandom attached to it, leading to my confusion.  From then on, I more or less ignored its existence and figured that we could coexist peacefully, but then I got curious...

 

I think that it's pretty clear what happened after that.
