gaming Worst Moments In Video Games

Castle Bleck

Recommended Posts

I'll start.

Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance:

Xehanort becomes KH-Aizen via new time travel abilities and plans, the X-Blade's creation process gets retconned (meaning Birth By Sleep was pointless, so Terra, Aqua, and Ven sacrificed themselves for nothing), etc.

Starfox Adventures:

When Andross basically kills General Scales. If there's one thing I don't like about the game, it's that sequence

Megaman X6

The story about how Zero gets revived again "I hid myself to repair myself"...ugh(granted it's probably a translation error, since the Japanese version take on this is really vague)

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City:

Hilary King; you challenge him to a frustrating street race in order to convince him to help your gang with a heist, only for him to die during said heist before he can do anything useful, making said race, and therefore his existence, pointless.

Kinect Star Wars

The infamous Han Solo dance.... A slap to the face to any star wars fan and gaming fan in general, it burns so bad, I actually feel stupid watching this....

I love Half-Life 2.. But seriously..
Those driving sequences are so tedious, so long and so boring!

The rest of the game is absolutely fine, but seriously.. Why couldn't Gordon Freeman just teleport or something? Save us the pain.

Although, the driving sequence in Episode 2 is massive improvement.

Have a nice cold pint, and wait for all this to blow over..

The last boss fight in prototype 2 and warhammer 40k: Space marine

Prototype I was hoping for this epic super awesome showdown but it had pretty decent build up with little pay off, the fight was overly easy and the Quick time event parts felt more like an end game tutorial rather than gameplay

The boss fight at the end of Space marine is the absolute WORST I have ever played, in a game of brutal semi gory action who green lit the idea of having the ENTIRE boss fight a quick time event with a little on rails gun fight? I have no issue with QTEs when done well but not the entire fight that's just abysmal

I was actually going to mention that as well. It's like the end of the game suddenly turned into god of war. What annoys me about that "boss" battle is that you spend most of the time fighting his summoned minions. I get a bit annoyed when a final boss does that. You already spend a good portion of the game fighting Bloodletters and Chaos Space Marines, yet you got to do it again, because Nemeroth is too much of a wimp to fight directly.

Another disappointing final boss fight, that I remember, is from Knights of the Temple II. All you do is attack and destroy three statues, which can take less than a minute. Then, you attack the boss (can't remember his name) by basically button smashing, so long as you keep your stamina bar refilled with potions.

'The Fear' In "Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater":

Oh sweet Luna Moses, is this guy both bland and forgettable in comparison to the rest of the Cobra Unit; in fact, I daresay he's up there with Hilary King ("Grand Theft Auto: Vice City") in terms of both uselessness and pointlessness!

Command and Conquer The Tiberian Twilight

I Tiberian Twilight itself was a "worst moment in gaming" the stupid addition of the "commander's" wife to add drama but only adds the frustration of sickeningly bad acting. Sure the C&C games were never the greatest acting but Joe Kucan, Tim Curry, George Takei and many others were entertaining but she was a special kind of garbage and I can't even begin to describe the abysmal endings. I could forgive the sub par gameplay if not for these half assed anti-climactic endings being my reward.

From Kerbal Space Program:

When that massive, super-complex interplanetary rocket you plan on sending to a far-off planet that you spent the past five weeks of your life building, calculating and revising explodes on the launchpad because the physics engine doesn't like it.

My worst moment was playing Pokemon XD. I got up to a boss in the beginning who had a shadow Delcatty and I haven't saved it in like 4 shadow pokemon a go and I was messing with the controller. I ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED THE SOFT RESET COMBINATION.

It was the.

Worst.

Possible.

Thing.

Worst moments in gaming, eh?... Fine, Guild Wars 2 again!

So yeah, at level 20, you get a mentor when you are forced to join one of three orders. Said mentor and you are together for the next 30 levels of the story and the mentors are some of the most fleshed out characters in the game. My personal favourite is Tybalt, a bumbling engineer that tries to act like one of those cheesy spies.

Now, at level 50, your mentor is killed off by the writers deciding to scrap everything and start act 3. Your mentor is essentially sacrificed to a dragon as a distraction and is replaced in the story line by the biggest Mary Sue in the game.

One of the biggest problems I had with guild wars 2 is that I didn't care about any of the NPCs in the story, they are all extremely generic and bland. The mentors were the only ones with a unique personality that made them special and interesting. So yeah, "Battle for Claw Island" is my worst moment in gaming.

I'm sorry, I forgot how to spoiler... haha...

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)

The whole game

Well, the music was the only good part.

Shadow the Hedgehog

The whole game

Sonic 3D Blast

Are you noticing a pattern here?
