Suggestions for a pony game?

Hello Everypony!

I'v been playing for quite a while now with java programing and 2D game development and decided to add some colorful equines to the mix.

on the way I started learning a little bit of animation and came out with some nice results.

even though I just started learning and my animations are a bit rough, I have some nice demos for character movements and control!

 

I was thinking that this could be an adventurous and challenging 2D side scroller game

but if this might become somthing real, what would you guys want to see?

A game where you can switch between the mane 6 depending on the situation, like there is a logic puzzle that requires you to have Twilight as your user or there is an animal that needs to be looked after when Fluttershy is your character. I would make it about the changelings, when the mane 6 were trying to get to the elements of harmony, but the army surrounded them, making it harder for them to succeed. 

 

Maybe there could be a boss fight at the end where Chrysalis is trying to stop you from sealing her away and you have to do fast action character switching based on what attack she was going to hit you with and which character would be the best to defend.

 

That's just my idea ^.^

Why not make a puzzle game? you know, one filled with puzzles? or you can have an adventure RPG based around the idea that the changlings winning the fight at Canterlot and the mane 6 have separated (by force) and you... the mysterious stallion/mare must fix everything.

Frozen Rose, I most definitely would like to add puzzle elements to the game, small parts here and there where you have to stop being a bad flank and think for a second.

 

and as for you RistroxD, thanks for the ideas, boss fights will be essential but I'm not sure if I want to re-use elements from the show like bringing back Chrysalis, I thought about introducing something new and original but still cannon worthy.

 

about character switching, my initial idea was an adventure game played out as Twilgiht, but I might want to have parts or even full levels played out as somepony else, implement different abilities for earth pegasai and unicorn, stuff like that...

I think a Sims-like game would be fun, where you can create your own ponies and live out there lives or perhaps also have a story mode where you can play as/create a character to live with the Mane 6 and help them with daily/show style problems.

A more adventurous game in the style of a JRPG or multiplayer 2D platformer would be fun too, or maybe a Metroidvania style game where you collect and use various ponies' abilities to fight and progress. There are a lot of possibilities really, those are just a few I've thought of.

But instead of cookies, we'd have muffins. Then you add Derpy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, etc... And then we have an awesome pony game that's very addicting!

In my opinion, a RPG style with free roam in a very open world and broad environment would be a great pony game. Maybe have a story mode similar to the show where you must do tasks with your friends.
