NocturnalRainbow 248 October 3, 2013 Share October 3, 2013 I was a bit obsessed I must admit... I spent all of my free time watching all of the episodes and random youtube videos. It was all consuming at first but then I eventually started doing other stuff Now it's just another fandom that I partake in. I don't spend all of my time involved in it but I do like to spend time daily looking at pony related stuff. Oh
Vaddix 98 October 3, 2013 Share October 3, 2013 I watched the "You're Gonna Go Far Kid" Rainbow Dash version. I had no idea why there was a PMV of a horse in it, but I decided that I'd watch it anyway, as I loved the song. After seeing that PMV, I became curious about what it was, and I watched the Party With Pinkie video. I thought it was a new type of anime. It wasn't until I logged on cheezburger did I discover it. I loved that I enjoyed it. I was probably one of the few that didn't have doubts to why they enjoyed it, or that it's for little girls, so it's not normal if a dude likes it. The first few days, weeks, and months were awesome. Even now, I'm still loving every bit of this fandom, though the hype has died down a bit. Once season four premieres, everypony will be up and moving again!
Zygen 6,066 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 Depending on what you call my first days as a brony depends. But whether it was joining the forums or simply the first few days after watching the show, both we're filled with alot of weird self doubt about why i was watching a show about ponies, and what was i doing with my life. I got that feeling even to small extents for a while actually. But after a while i really just accepted it, and yeah. While i'm still a closet brony and don't plan on changing, i don't think me being a brony is some crazy thing that i'm doing that i shouldn't be that should be something only someone insane should do. In other words, i accept the fact i'm a brony now. Other then that ponies definitely where on my mind alot. Of course they still are a year later ;p. Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! SomariFeyWright 776 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 To be perfectly honest, my first days as a brony weren't really that special. It was just like joining any other fandom: Start it, love it, obsess over it, TELL. EVERYONE. Yes, even with something as socially controversial as My Little Pony, I was EXTREMELY open about my love of the show. It's a great show, and I wanted the world to know I thought so. Also the fanart, fanfiction, choosing a favorite character, such and such. The reactions I got were unique from my other fandoms, but that aside there wasn't anything special. SPLinux 380 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 I was enthralled, just felt kinda out of this world along with happiness, i just couldn’t belive how much i liked what i was seeing. In summary my mind was being blown by the awesomeness of the show. When i first started watching i watched around 5 episodes a day on youtube and then started watching them live on TV starting with Owl's Well that Ends Well. So those first days felt pretty magical, i really want to start feeling like that again.
Antismurf9001 1,271 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 It's kind of hard for me to clock exactly when I became a brony. I definitely wasn't one after watching the first two episodes. Then a couple of months later, I started again mostly so I could study the characters and be able to write them (it was a story for a friend). I finished the first two seasons after about a month and a half (much longer than was necessary to study the characters...), but I wasn't satisfied. For the next week, I was watching fan-made pony videos on Youtube during all of my free time (it's nice not having a roommate). I wasn't sure why, but I was, and it was pretty awesome. Right after that, I found myself up early on a Saturday morning desperately trying to figure out how livestreams worked so that I wouldn't miss the season 3 premiere, and finally accepted that I was a brony. So yeah, it was a strange and long process that every fiber of my being tried to fight off with all of its strength, but it was also awesome and enlightening. null123456 759 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 My first few days I went loco for Coco Puffs. I literally loved the show. My first episode was S2 E3 so I spent my entire weekend watching all of the other episodes that had been released.(S1 - S2 E4) I earned myself a good rep on these here forums within my first month of bronydom, but after a while, school got in the way of things and I'm not able to be as active in the fanbase and the forums. I barely post at all and I've just haven't been very active since S3 ended. Here's to hoping S4 restores some of brony in me that once shined like a fire.
Frith is Magick 1,471 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 It was confusing. I knew bronies were out there, but I thought they were a couple of weirdos on the internet, and that MLP was a show for little girls. I liked it, but I couldn't immediately put my finger on why, and it felt like something I should't like. I finished the series before I knew what was going on. The whole experience was confusing, but I slowly settled into it. I now know that MLP:FiM isn't just for little girls, and that bronies are in fact many awesome weirdos on and off the internet. I didn't go through the pony-crazy new fan stage because at the time I didn't want to admit to myself, let alone others that I had become a brony, but now I am easing more and more into it. DustJacket 213 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 My first days of a brony, let's see... I became really curious and anxious to wait for the next episodes that I was downloading, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't concentrate at school, I even didn't eat once because of a marathon of MLP. I drew an anamorphic Fluttershy for an art assignment at school, since I was partnered with a girl. Downloaded the musics right away after all three seasons were finished, followed up a bunch of groups on dA. Good times, I might say... good times.... Legacy Dash 439 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 My first few days as a brony was not exactly the best. I was watching MLP 24/7. My family got rather worried, and forced me to get off of my computer, which I was expecting, but hoping wouldn't happen. Finally, once I reached Season 3 Episode 4, I decided to hold back, otherwise I'd finish watching My Little Pony, which I certainly didn't want to happen - finally, a few weeks ago, I decided to go and watch the whole lot. Now I just have to wait for Season 4, which is so far away. Signature by . My personal website: Mitchfizz05.net.
fimdash 1,196 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 Ah, the first few days of being a brony. I didn't even have all of the Mane 6's names memorized it was all so new to me. I don't recall much from those times, but I do recall that the show felt really fresh to me, and it was very enjoyable. I hadn't even touched any of the fanworks during my first days of being a brony; I was only exposed to the show itself. Heck, I didn't even know that much about the brony community. The show was still really nice though, and it was like foraying into a wondrous world. I also didn't really find the ponies to be super cute, but after exploring their characters more as I continued to watch through the show, they became way more cuter to me. Oh, one thing that I really enjoyed about the show back when it was brand new to me was the end credits song. I always liked hearing it after watching an episode, and nowadays the end credits song doesn't really do much for me anymore. I guess you could say the same thing about the songs from the show. I loved listening to MLP's music, but I've heard them all so many times that I'm kind of sick of them :/
Throwaway19573639385 763 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 I watched all 5 episodes in one day and immediately went on to search for more content. I wasn't even aware of the community until the end of 2010 started and the fandom somehow exploded. Sure, I found some songs, art and especially fanfics (oh 4chan, your crazy fanfictions will forever stay in my heart) here 'n there, but there wasn't a lot out there. So it was just rewatching those 5 episodes over and over again, using the little quotes I had to poke around friends and eagerly waiting for new content. Back then, Fluttershy was my favorite pone, she nearly gave me a heart attack every time I saw her. There weren't really many people to talk to about the show, aside from all the people on 4chan and reddit, which were mostly just annoying others and not really up for a talk. I'm glad the fandom and the show turned out just fine though. Good times..
Emperor Posh 360 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 My first month was just like yours, except the fact that I could not only just see them when I closed my eyes, I could hear them even with my eyes open. Still to this day I mainly only think about MLP. I often get the word everyone mixed up with everypony, or I accidentally say it in public and then laugh at myself. All in all it is pretty awesome. I am still nuts about MLP and the wait for season 4 is killing me. Random white text!

Winona the Dog 1,984 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 I'm sure everyone had their fair share of awkwardness after they realised they like the show. Some go out of thier way to make sure nobody else knows they watch it and it's understandable. I mean MLP breaks stereotypes but on its surface it doesn't. It looks like an ordinary kids show and we all know that today's world is very judgemental.

MichaelxXxTrixie 433 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 At-first it was a strange passive-aggressive interest. I said I wouldn't become a Brony, nor would I associate with anyone who is a Brony. TheSupremeLeaderOfChaos 1,206 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 I just remember sitting on my computer for hours on end marathoning ponies. And once I finished, I started analyzing the community from the inside out. And then I followed about 100 brony artists on YT. So yeah. Still loving it. It's definitely different now, but it is still entertaining to me and I'm not bored with it yet. Still too many fanfictions to read!!! Signature made by- Kyoshi Make sense? websterhamster 203 October 5, 2013 Share October 5, 2013 At-first it was a strange passive-aggressive interest. I said I wouldn't become a Brony, nor would I associate with anyone who is a Brony. Eventually I just gave in and I was running down the streets singing the MLP Theme Song. Almost exactly the same thing with me. I'd been seeing a lot of "brony" stuff, and it really bugged me, "Why would a grown man be interested in a little girls' show?" And then, while playing Minecraft with the Feed The Beast launcher, I saw the BronyModPack... and my curiosity was piqued. So I looked up the show on Wikipedia. Apparently the show had good animation, so I said, "the heck with this" and began to watch it on YouTube. One episode went, two episodes went, before I knew it I had watched half of the first season, and it was 2:00 in the morning. What the heck was wrong with me?! I couldn't stop, every free moment was filled with either thinking about the show or watching it. And then, halfway through Season 2, I stumbled upon a YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzozSSGETJo Needless to say, I then decided, "Yes, if that one overenthusiastic guy can be so overenthusiastic about this, why can't I?" So then I went and joined MLP Forums, got involved with Tenebris Dawn, and other stuff, and began making friends. And then I showed my parents, they reacted positively, and the my twin brother revealed that he had been a brony for several months and hadn't shared the magic with me. I was very sad about that . CT-1138 3,182 October 5, 2013 Share October 5, 2013 My experience was similar to OP's (save the skipping school part, for shame ). My first day was when I realized I had spent an entire Sunday watching pony clips on YouTube. I spent the next couple days after that watching the episodes on YouTube. Everytime I wasn't watching ponies, I had freezing shivers and nonstop thoughts of ponies ...Ya know, normal withdrawal symptoms. 1 Love is a most potent magic My FiMFiction | My DA | My Facebook
