What did you not like in the show that you don't want to see in the fourth season?

For me it's the shows without good lessons, like Mare Do Well. What was the lesson? Don't brag about things? The lesson seemed quite confusing.

MMDW: Don't be too proud of your accomplishments, or it'll just piss people off.

Anyway, I want fairness in character development.

Or we could just throw Twi in there when she has no place in the episode.

Or shitcan any AJ or Rarity development.

Those always seem to work for the writers img-2016345-1-dry.png

All in all...

Fairness in character portrayal.

I don't want an episode that bashes a character's personality (Mare-Do-Well).

So many more, other than Mare Do Well tongue.png

Correct. /)

Well there are a couple of things which I dislike about a few of the episodes. The one thing I dislike the most though is when an episode is way too rushed. Seriously come on. In movies, I hate when things get rushed (that is why I love long movies like LotR or Lawrence of Arabia) and in some mlp episodes, things get even more rushed so I want to like it but I can't.

I hope season 4 will have more 2 parters

I want them to get rid of the whole moral lessons crap period. It's really restrictive.

*Cough Sweet and Elite *cough*

I mean seriously....becoming popular sounds like such a vain song.

Rarity is vain. Need there be more explanation than that?

There's points where every one of the mane 6's flaws show; Rarity is vain (Can't believe I'm admitting it ) RD is arrogant, Pinkie is immature, Fluttershy is far too shy to be healthy, Twilight is extreme OCD, and AJ can be just boring sometimes (Really only later on, though, when they started to screw characters over)

But like, in Hurricane Fluttershy, Flutters' flaw is exploited for plot, but in a good way :squee:

But there's episodes like Sweet & Elite and MMDW where those flaws are exploited for plot in the wrong way. :okiedokielokie:

When it comes to showing flaws, we need them to be portrayed like FS's were in Hurricane Fluttershy, rather than the way Rar and RD's were in Sweet & Elite and MMDW.

That's all I have to say on this subject.

Good question, and an easy one for me to answer:

I don't ever again want to see Twilight's friends doubt her like they did in "A Canterlot Wedding, Pt. 1".

I didn't realize vanity was a flaw. Seems to me that vanity is something most people need. How many people don't take care of themselves because they believe themselves to be ugly? Imagine how many people wouldn't feel ugly at all if they had the vanity to actually take care of their appearance?

Vanity on some level is bad but not in itself.

This is her flaw according to 90% of the fandom.

Plus, I'm far, FAR too bias to offer a objective opinion of her flaws.

So I just roll with it :D

They seemed to have stopped as early as Season 2 but no putting in Twilight where her presence isn't really needed for the episode. (Think "Fall Weather Friends" or "Look Before You Sleep"), these episodes honestly were kind of hurt by Twilight and the episodes could have gone on without her. I'm glad that "Lesson Zero" kind of made fun of what the writers were doing to Twilight in Season 1 though.. just trying to shoehorn her in every episode and they just kind of let it be that some episodes can just have Pinkie or Rarity etc...it also made Twilight less of a "Mary Sue" even with the whole alicorn thing...so I don't think that will be a problem in Season 4 since it wasn't a problem in Season 2/Season 3.

I guess I am also hoping that the writers know the difference between snarky Fluttershy and nasty Fluttershy.. hint, the first is hilarious and the second is just oddly out-of-character ("Putting Your Hoof Down").

Also don't do anything that was done in "Double Rainboom", that episode was just only MLP in a very superficial way.. it made Rainbow Dash look like a doofus and the Powerpuff Girls/MLP crossover was just stupid in how it was portrayed. If the characters in MLP seemed OOC, wait till you see the Powerpuff Girls..

Can't think of anything else I wouldn't want to see again though...

I don't want to see anymore poorly introduced plot twists arbitrarily shoe horned in at the last second to sell more toys *cough cough* twilicorn *cough cough*, that particular plot twist may still work out but if anything will kill this show it will probably be that sort of precedent. I also don't want to see episodes where the morals make no sense or don't apply, Griffon the Brush's off's lesson about false friends is a good one for example but was poorly applied because Gilda was demonized while everyone else including Pinkie Pie got off scott free.

Why does it need a good lesson? It's a television show, not a school program.

It is a vain song because Rarity is a vain person. Neither it or Mare Do Well bashes anyone. They just point out awful facets of their personalities for being awful.

Oh don't play dumb LOL.

Alright lets aim not at some vanity.

Is raritys amount of vanity acceptable levels.

Imagine if every pony had her level or at least some of the mains.

Imagine if Pinkie was that vain about her parties and how pinkiemania that would make her.

Imagine twilight being that vain about her studies?  Hell she would have attacked princess celestail for lesson 0.

(maybe rightfully so).

if rainbow was only as bad as rarity she'd be 80 percent less douchee.

Hum maybe it would help flutter shy.

Sorry. I worded that a bit weirdly, what I meant was it was just confusing for me to understand what the lesson was. There clearly was one,I just didn't get it.

I don't want too see season 3 Pinkie Pie, in season 3 all she was used for were jokes her character wasn't really there if that makes sense.

Don't get me wrong it was funny but I would like some character for those jokes.

Pinkie revolves around "Ha, she's random and weird and borderline psychotic at times" gags for most of the series so far. Good luck getting a character there.

But she used to be so much more then that. She had great character development in season 1 & 2. But in season 3 she was just there saying "Woohoo look how random I am (makes funny face)," Pinkie has probably the deepest character in the show, judging from season 1 and I want too see it explored.

...Randomly appearing in flippers, Groucho glasses, wielding a party whistle, and flailing with a rubber chicken are far from "the deepest character in the show". She was pretty much not a character at all in season one. She's become more since but she's still largely a joke.

I want more Scootaloo episodes.

every character has their weak points.  I could bring up twilights behavior in any number of episodes

the first two,

lesson o,

feeling pinkie keen,

bridal gosssip,

so forth and so on.

and in all likley hood your going to get get more scootaloe episodes.

that's not the focus of the thread.  It's what you don't wanna see that they did already that you went "gah please make it stop!"

if no one said snips and snails, snips and snails.

Casting blame on the wrong characters and then giving them undeserved comeuppance that is way way worse than their supposed crime.

Trixie is the worst case.

Oh no, she's boasting. That means she deserves to lose her reputation, the job that is literally her special talent, and her home.

Wait, she's in a profession where boasting is commonplace and actually a part of her line of work... uh. I dunno.

Never mind the fact that our main characters decide to heckle a traveling entertainer that as far as we know put on a free show, that essentially everyone but them was shown to like.

Never mind that two out of the three biggest complainers about her boasting are just as cocky as she is(and only RD is selfconscious to realize that, not AJ) and repeatedly boast during the series.

Too Many Pinkie Pies had more of her character than any season 2 episode.

You don't have too have a serious personality too be a deep character. I don't know about you but this seems pretty deep.

When she thinks her firends leave her she becomes a totally different pony.

She becomes mentally unhinged.

And no more Snips or Snails would be great. Replace them with more bizarre background characters like the Jelly Molester (as I am now calling him).

As for Trixie, she was the indirect cause of a giant monster being unleashed upon the town, sooo...

Speaking of which, season three had too much blatant fanservice...
