David paced in the main foyer, waiting for some pony, any pony to come out and talk to him. He stopped pacing and picked the letter up again. "Should I tell Luna that no one was home?" He wondered aloud. When Poe didn't answer he sighed and put the letter back on the receptionists desk. "Back to pacing I guess."

Valore trotted from the end of the hallway, reading the clipboard floating in frount of her. She had many patients to attend to today, and she had no time for tomfoolery.

Mother of Celestia, she was starting to sound like her Granny.

Everything was working perfectly, before she suddenly ran directly into a pacing Stallion.

"Hey, watch it!" she snapped at him.

David got up and turned around to the mare that had just bumped in to him. "My apologies madam. I am merely waiting for the good doctor or someone of staff to help me check my self in." He grinned and nodded at the strangeness of his request. "I know that sound's odd, but this letter might clear some things up." He handed the letter to her and bent down to help her pick up the papers scattered all over the floor. (((The contents of the letter is mentioned in my first post, it's just his back ground, the non-classified information on his background. The classified part is any bit reffering to changelings and his job as a spy. It basically says that he was a spy, was captured and now hears voices. Other then hearing voices, he's more or less quite sane.)))

She glanced over the stallion in front of her.

"Well, you are in quite a bit of luck. I am Nurse Valore Blaze, and welcome to the Institution." she said, getting back on her feet. Putting together the papers that were scattered about, she studied the stallion.

He seemed fit, and only seemed a bit older that herself. Not too shabby, maybe even quite attractive, and serious looking.

"If you want, I will take your letter." she said politely, adjusting her scrubs.

"I...yeah, there's a detailed report on what's wrong with me. Though I should say that I don't hear voices...just one." He smiled, completely serious. "You think she thinks you're joking?" David was about to respond, then thought the better of it. He merely sat down and waited for Valore to finish reading the letter. "What's the matter, you've never had a problem responding to me in front of any other pony before. Not even Luna. Heck, that's half the reason we're here."

Lost Soul noticed that the mare seemed to sense her, if not see her, so mirrored the mare's actions, eyes widened in shock.
The more she backed away. the more a migraine formed in her head. When it was too much, she whimpered and fell to the floor, holding her hooves to her head.
What's going on? I've never had this bad of a headache before...
Lost knew it had to be that mare.
"P-please... I-if you can s-see me... P-please come c-closer... I-I may look sc-scary... b-but I wouldn't h-hurt any pony..." she croaked out to the mare.

"Okay..." she said slowly, gaining the courage to trot over to her.

The closer she got, the more the spirits talked.

"Death follower!"

"Cursed one, cursed."

"Poor child.."

"My..my name is Storm Lily. Who are you?" she asked, looking at the mare.

Sliver Tiara stood still, she wasn't used to ghosts, she  understanded spirits but, GHOSTS, it scared her, she shock, then grinned and stopped, her vampiriic side showing, she felt a scar on her eye, , she licked her long fang(As long as Discord's) and jumped at one of the ghosts.

"Anyway...we ran into our first real battle about a month after landing, it was a rather fun experience" he said with a smile. He always did take enjoyment from the heat of battle. "We drove a regiment or two of regulars from their breastworks. It took us three attempts, but they broke eventually. I do recall myself walking with the lads, sword pointed towards the fray....'twas a beautiful sight to look to one's right and gaze upon lines of lads standing abreast with one another. It didn't take long for 'em to break. I recall cutting down one who I assume was a corporal, had to finish him off I did, can't stand the screams."

Golden Age had a strong smile upon his face, an expression that recollected the nostalgia of his trade that brought him enjoyment from even his days as a lowly private. He loved to see the foe flying in terror before him. He saw war, at least in a civilized manner, full of entertainment and glory. He simply loved it.

"Those were the good days, in my opinion. Fall came and went with no significant importance; I went about my days as any other. That's when it started getting cold..." His smile vanished immediately, his mood went from gay to somber and eccentric. "The first snow came in November...the Army did not issue winter clothing, Celestia knows why, and our clothes that we were currently wearing were beginning to wither into rags. The Quartermaster stuck to army regulations, even in the face of disaster. Only issuing coats every 3 years per soldier, even in times of drastic situations."

He sat there, his head hanged slow for several moments before continuing.

"The winter came in force...the transportation of food and supplies broke down horrifically, we had to make days rations last for weeks. And...t-the cold was just as deadly...p-people froze to death on guard duty...most of those who went out at night never came back for roll call the next morning."

His lip began to quiver and his body began to shake.

"We had trench duty as well...I had to be down with my boys on several occasions...y...y...you'd a-always have to r-remove the frozen c-c-corpses from the previous shift..."

He buried his face in his hooves and began to cry, masking the sound as much as he could.

This stallion had been through so much.  Comforting him as best he could, he patted his patients back, and tried to soothe him.

"I... I am so sorry." he said, staring at the crying colt.

"I can never fully realize how you must have felt, but i will try in any way, to help you," he said, his voice soothing, attempting to make the patient feel better.

The moment he walked in, Sunset started trembling. She'd been hiding from ponies for a long time on the streets, she wasn't used to being spoken to directly. She grasped her pillow, too scared to answer his question,  and winced but held on when the stallion tried to move it, though she hadn't meant to be uncooperative... She was just terrified.

Post-traumatic stress disorder? she thought as he spoke. She'd never heard of it, but her orphanage's classes taught nothing about psychology.

She looked down at the piece of bread he had given her, unsure what to do. Of course, she knew how to eat, but it seemed rude to eat in front of somepony who wasn't. Still, though, he had given it to her, and she was starving...

Her hunger won out over her desire to be polite. She carefully took it, hiding most of her face behind her mane, ears flattened.

She nibbled on it a bit as he spoke, wincing again at his raised volume of voice, but listened anyway.

When the stallion finished talking, she swallowed her tiny bite and tried to speak again, her voice just as weak and quiet as before.

"Wh-wh-why am I h-here...?"

@@Mint Drop,

"We found you on the streets," Inkblot explained as soothingly as he could, "and after checking into your files, we have found out that you have gone through some traumatic times."

Finally the mare spoke, though it was barely audible. "I'm sorry, but I'll need you to speak up a bit," Inkblot said. When Sunset finally ate the bread he gave her, Inkblot continued as Sunset ate, "You're here at the institution to solve the unsolvable from your past. But for you to succeed in that, you must collaborate with us."

Inkblot looked around, then closed the door and sat down on a bolted wooden chair. "I forgot to introduce myself. I am Mr. Inkblot Goncort-Bauer, though Inkblot can work just fine, Fräulein (young lady)." He leaned back, only to find it very uncomfortable; it felt like a cold slab of concrete. He shivered briefly. then adding, "It's also my first day here, so do not give me too much pressure.

"Alles in Ordnung (All is in order/all right [informally]). We'll start with some simple questions." Inkblot took out a flip book out of his messenger bag (Inkblot also kept a thick book that read the Principles of Psychology in there, where he often referred to and studied in his spare time), leafing through several pages and stopping at a random one.

It wasn't actually involved with his interrogation directly, though occasionally Inkblot liked to leave his conversation starter to mere chance to decide what he would say first. Inkblot glared at his book, then began, "...personal life. So, Miss Sunset, tell me what happened in your fillyhood, as specific as you can. Don't be shy; it's just between you and me, and I promise I would not tell anyone else."

"I never speak to anyone unless thay are dead or close to dying... I chose to stay away from the living, because I felt different...Because I was the only one who could see what I see."  She said, looking down at her hooves, then at the ghost floating aroud her back leg.

@, ((Quite the "coincidence" there.:P However, it's not going to be that easy. It'll take some coaxing to get something like that out of Sunset.))

Inkblot'a telling Sunset not to be shy, did not work. In fact, it may have had the exact opposite effect, but that could have possibly been because of his previous request: to tell him about her fillyhood.
She really didn't want to talk about that. He'd told her not to worry, that he wouldn't hurt her or anything, but that didn't make her automatically trust him. How did she know he wouldn't hate her like everypony else. when she told him what had happened?
She didn't want to go through the pain of reliving those memories for somepony she'd just met, not for the risk ofbeing hated and judged again.
She toook in a shaky breath, finishing off the bread.
"I-I-I-I..." she squeaked. "I-i... c-c-can't..."

@@Mint Drop,

Inkblot bit his lip, and flipped his notes once more. Of course, he thought, she's not going to say anything to me. It isn't that easy. He had to start somewhere "safe". And that needed to be just more than a loaf of bread.

Again, he started randomly, and flipped to another random page. "Talent," he declared. "So...Miss Sunset, do you have anything you like to do? Anything you're interested in? Or you have an innate talent on?" Inkblot was at first questioning why he was doing this; it had little relevance to what he was supposed to do.

But to get her to talk, Inkblot needed to be on good terms with Sunset. This wasn't some kind of school issue where a filly or a colt has some "friend" or academic problems. This was a real victim, a victim of abuse and trauma. It wasn't going to be from the book anymore.

Silence. "Let me start off first..." Inkblot said, showing her his messenger bag. "My talent is pretty much obvious. It's psychology. I was curious with how the brain worked, I wanted to study it, through behaviors and actions. I am, however, an avid reader of classics. The Weavers, Les Miserables, The Thibaults, Three Musketeers...you know. Heard of that?

"Also took a degree in philosophy and linguistics. I don't really see how the latter is really that useful, since I don't really go out of the country very often," Inkblot took a short glance at the chain watch inside his messenger bag. Ten minutes...not much progresses was made on the first day.
