Things you don't understand about the opposite gender?

:/.....

Well never understood why girls carry purses most of those things are so huge you could kill someone with one.

Never will understand how or why girls wear really high heels... looks like it would be a pain to walk in those and uncomfortable.

Why some girls wear gigantic sunglasses that cover half their face lol... :P not all girls though.

Idk I am weird too

Lol I'm answering everyone's girl questions now. :P

1. They need purses big enough to carry a bunch of makeup generally... Not that I carry the stuff around, but most women do, just in case of emergency. Also, they probably chuck a brush in there. As well as a smaller purse for their money, and sunnies, and their phone... Or maybe it's just in case someone attacks them, I agree those things could knock a guy out. :P

2. It makes them look taller, and apparently freakishly tall women are 'sexy'. Or they do it as a way to show off to other women who can't walk in them. :P

3. Some do coz they want to look cool, some because they're not confident and want to hide their face. And, one or two in a million, because they actually are irritated by the sun in their eyes. :P

Some things I don't get about women

  • Why do they go crazy over celebrities, singers, and people in bands?
  • How can they watch those Housewives shows? I'd go mad if I had to watch them.
  • I don't get the whole shoe thing. I can see owning a pair, or two, and maybe even three but some girls have way too many shoes.
  • I don't get their fascination with the "bad boys".
  • My mom complains, and rants way too much. I hope all women aren't so damn annoying.
  • Why are their hands so perfect for making sandwiches? (Just a joke)

As a girl, hopefully I can explain some of these XD

1.  Having an obsession over Loki myself, and some other awesome actors, well... Uh.  I guess I don't have an answer. o.o  I don't really know besides that they're amazing

2. I've never seen any, so I personally wouldn't know

3. Again, I personally don't give a crap about shoes XD

4. Okay, so at first I thought it was stupid when girls thought that...then I got an obsession over Loki.  It's because those guys are dominant (also, this is my opinion, it may not be the same with every girl) and can protect them when needed.  They're only bad to the ones who hurt you (but in most cases, this isn't the case) and also the fact that they're confidant most of the time

5.  I admit, I do that sometimes too.  I don't really know why, I guess just to feel the need to let anger loose?  Or maybe attention?  I seriously don't know

Also I lol'd at the last one

Hehe, i guess its because your like the only girl around right now ;p.

Atleast your being quite helpful. So thanks :).

Purse thing makes sense, and yeah, i think you could probably knock out many people with that purse ;p.

Yeah, basically the explanation i got from my other friend whos a girl. well except the showing off part ;p.

There is actually a guy who walked in them before i know, its a long story... it starts with band camp and well... i'll tell it some other time ;p.

xD, sounds accurate and logical enough ;p.

Hehehe dat swagg   B)

And then girls who wear heels and don't know how to walk in them...  :yay:

It makes sense for girls to carry and have that stuff as a guy there will always be things we will never get cause we are just guys and most guys are just simple  "cavemen"   :P lol

Well, i can understand the dominance thing i guess. but the thing is that when we're talking about actual bad guys then most of the time they're not just going to happen to be good to you only, and if they do alot of the time its an act.

Atleast thats my experience. I get what your saying though, bad boys tend to be more standout and dominant, in contrast to people like me, who are much more reserved and shy.

And i think the complaining is probably similar to why i get angry as a guy alot, because when i get angry well.. Things go down, essentially anger flies everywhere ;p.

It ain't pretty. But it does somewhat help release tension and emotions. And seeing as guys really aren't allowed to cry thats the main way to release tension for guys i guess.

So maybe something akin to that? Of course girls have crying to, but maybe its a combination idk.

XD  Agreed.  I myself wouldn't go after a guy who goes around bullying others, if he were just dominant and confident, of course that would be different, seeing as he may not be a "bad boy"

And yaaa. o.o  I get angry a lot at things (especially with my family and trying to make friends) so I can agree with the anger flying everywhere.  Although I don't complain to my family really anymore because I realize they can't help.  I just make long rants on facebook or twitter. XD  I try not to because I know it can be annoying (heck, I'd never put my drama on deviantart...gah)  but it's one of the only ways to let loose

Ah, good sir, I am here to help answer some of the gentlemen's questions. Starting with you.

•Why do they go crazy over celebrities, singers, and people in bands?•

Some girls think they're cute(boy bands, Justin(a) Bieber).

•I don't get the whole shoe thing. I can see owning a pair, or two, and maybe even three but some girls have way too many shoes.•

You mean my sister? We are the more fashionable, remember. I'm really picky about everything fitting, so I have... Four pairs of shoes? I never paid much attention to shoes.

•My mom complains, and rants way too much. I hope all women aren't so dang annoying.•

Me? Annoying? Never!

Yeah, just don't confuse dominance and being a bad intentions guy i guess.

Yeah, i get angry and sometimes just randomly yell at someone who has nothing to do with it, then i get mad at myself for doing so, which ends up spiraling alot.

I actually complain alot even as a guy, i've done alot of complaining on here for sure, which i really shouldn't but i do. I can be such a whiny individual i swear.

On the same token it might drive me crazy if i didn't, so idk.

Expecially since idk if i could cry or anything even if i wanted, so thats out of the question regardless, as i very very rarely cry.

Yeah, I have trust issues so I'm really careful with that stuff.

I can understand that.  A lot of times if I don't rant or let the anger out in some way (I'll sometimes play Halo but sometimes it only gets me more frustrated lol), I'll think about it a lot.  Then I'll over think it.  Then I'll get momentarily depressed and think of all the wrong things I've ever done.  Then I mope on my bed for awhile.  Then I get angry again and I usually let it out some way or another.  I just hate when I snap at friends who haven't done anything ;.;

yeah, i do kinda don't like how the men are the ones who have to ask the girls out essentially. Especially as someone whos incredibly shy. I mean honestly i don't have nearly enough dominance or mainlyness to just ask a girl out.

Thats probably one of the bigger reasons i've never went out with any, but honestly unless a girl asks me out that probably won't change throughout highschool at all. Who knows how long it'll be that way though.

I do agree that it sucks having to be the hunter, especially when your personality is not that of a hunter really, but more a shy reserved guy.

This is the main reason why I have not had a girlfriend, or even a date. I'm a very shy guy, and I just can't get the confidence and courage to ask out a girl that I like. I wish girls would ask guys out, I probably would have had a girl ask me out before...

I'm not super trusting exactly, but i dunno if i'd exactly qualify as having trust issues ;p.

and yeah, i usually have a bunch of random emotions cycle through me if i don't let it out. Until i let it out in one way or another. Which typically is anger seeing as i don't cry very much.

And yeah i don't like snapping at people either, but i can't help it sometimes :/.

Sometimes my emotions swirl around regardless, even if i'm not holding things in exactly. So idk.

I'm a very moody guy ;p.

Yeah :/, i can't really work up the courage either, wish i could help, but i've not had better luck frankly.

Not sure if realistically any girls would ask me out even then, but still ;/.

-why girls feel the need to scream their piercing, shrieking screams when they're excited.

I guess its really just because they get worked up and like guys they sometimes start yelling and stuff, but since they're voices are in such a high register it typically comes out to be much more screaming and high pitched and shriek like.

just an observation, not a girl as i've said before ;p.

What I don't get is how guys that think that they're so "nice" and something different from those "bad boys" that girls supposedly date, are always the first ones to make sexist jokes and think they're funny and that we're supposed to not be offended by them at all.

(I'm not saying I was offended here, but this is a very general trend that extends far beyond this post)

True, there is hypocrisy in guys with this issue frankly, it can make things complicated for sure.

I myself try to avoid making any sexist jokes or anything really, and i'm not really what most guys would consider a bad boy, as i'm pretty scrawny and stuff.

I guess its just a hypocrisy issue, or maybe some guys are just unaware of their own actions when looking at others. Who knows.

Well, first girl to put that here, couple guys already did that, but yeah ;p.

Anything specific? I can try my best as a guy to answer to some extent or another ;p.

If not its ok, i'm not entirely sure we're meant to be able to understand the opposite gender 100%. As that would require being in their shoes in some cases i guess to fully understand.

Interesting enough i guess to hear a girl with alot of stuff they don't understand about guys.

Well most of it has to do with relationships and stuff. Personal experiences. I dont don't know how much you could help with that, and I don't want to complain.

I see.

Fair enough, i probably won't be a ton of help with relationships frankly to be honest having never had any so yeah.

But all guys are different, so that makes it even more complex i guess.

So yeah, its ok. :)

I don't understand guys' excessive 'need' to fit into the 'manliness' stereotype, and also the pressure that they push upon each other to meet it (including all of the stigma attached to a guy potentially being gay).

I just find it all incredibly stupid, and moreover, flat out insecure.

True, very true. Also, the bad boy thing was more or less me joking about that stereotype, that girls always go for them. I know that isn't true.  :muffins:

Never understood why some females often are attracted to the big, athletic, dominant males in lieu of more intellectual, subtle, less athletic males.

Think about it, all animal species have adapted to their environment in different ways. Humans are special because they developed superior cognitive reasoning skills to adapt to their environment. Intelligence is what put humanity at the top, not physical speed, strength, or size.

So if intelligence is what put us at the top as a species, then why would it be different for humans as individuals? Why has intelligence's value suddenly diminished?

To be honest, I'm more confused about what my own gender is up to. Usually a female does something, and I can understand why they did whatever it was they did. Being a man, I don't see reasons for a lot of things they do. The most confusing thing is why a large chunk of males seem to think they need to cloak themselves in a complete and impenetrable wall of masculinity. I'm pretty confident that if I were a girl, I wouldn't be at all interested in a guy who's all about the manly gruff nonsense.

There's nothing wrong with guys being a bit girly, yet many try their hardest just NOT to be. I mean, I'm pretty girly myself (I look like a goddamn lesbian) and I got an Epic girlfriend regardless.

I hate to be that person, but... I understand as much about men as I do my own gender. What I don't understand is people in general, regardless of what they are. Human society is just so nonsensical sometimes that I couldn't really pin it down to just... men. Whenever I try to think of something that supposedly only men do, it's really women who do it as well and it just becomes a "everyone really doesn't make any damn sense. Human society is really confusing."

Honestly, I don't like to lump people into genders and make stereotypical assumptions about them due to that. I mean, we're not all that different anyway. It's not two different worlds. We're all humans, and whilst there are distinguishable biological and psychological differences,(I won't deny some of those stereotypes ARE true to some extent) it isn't quite as bad as people seem to think. Really, it's just all of humanity to me.

Also, some gentlemen's questions I can answer:

What the hell is a period like? Like is it painful? Seriously, when they are on one, some don't really... act like themselves and I wonder "are they in pain?" :/

In the most SFW I can, yes, it IS painful. I can't speak for all women, because everyone experiences it differently. For some, it is more painful than others. For me, it is moderately painful. And yes, because of the pain, I do feel... more irritable. But hey, if you're in a good amount of pain, you'd act like that too. Regardless of any of that stuff about hormones and PMS that the media likes to espouse. (I can't really say if that stuff is true or not for other ladies, but it certainly doesn't affect me to the extent you see on television.)

Well never understood why girls carry purses most of those things are so huge you could kill someone with one.

Having just recently acquired a massive purse, I can say for myself because it is super handy. I mean, I can put a whole buncha stuff in that and carry it around. Including all of my books for college and several handheld devices, as well as my sketch paper for art. It's very practical. Although I think some just carry the purses because of their aesthetic appearance.

There's nothing wrong with guys being a bit girly, yet many try their hardest just NOT to be. I mean, I'm pretty girly myself (I look like a goddamn lesbian) and I got an Epic girlfriend regardless.

You failed to mention that I am half-lesbian, which would therefore make your lesbian appearance somewhat appealing to me.
