Frost Typhoon

Frost stared at the mare as she spoke, she still seemed a bit hostile but Frost wasn't sure what was causing it, he just hoped it wasn't his presence. When she called for him to follow her he obeyed almost instantly due to his curiosity. When Kingfisher mentioned how her adventures were almost unbelieveable, he smirked and chuckled. "I've heard some far out stories in my travels. If you can best them I'd be surprised." he challenged, trying to get a story out of her.

Pavisa

@@Windbreaker,

Frowning slightly, Pavisa shakes her head briefly.  "I can afford a place as cheap as this.  You've already spent too much on me."  She offers Aegis an apologetic smile, again glad to have her helmet masking a good portion of her face.  She'd shared a room with stallions before of course, but it somehow felt different here than it did when she slept in the barracks.

"Besides, just because I'm poor doesn't mean I'm helpless.  There's a difference between a cheap hotel room and an expensive suit of armour."  She smiles teasingly at Aegis, swatting at the pegasus with her tail as she steps up to the counter to place her own bits up for a room.  Well, poor and jobless now.  I'll deal with that later though, the Litany is what's important now.

Zintiik's eyes go wide as Kricket bites down on his ear, shocking him out of his transformation and causing him to jump back into the shadows of the alley before anypony would have a chance to see the now exposed changeling.

"Ahhhh!  Dumb worm, why always me!?  Getitoffgetitoffgetitoffgetitoff!"  It didn't really occur to Zintiik that the noise he was making might draw attention, being too distracted by the aspect latched onto his ear.

@@Frosty V,

"What do I look like, a foalsitter?" She snorted dismissively before, for once, considering her manners and trying to give him an apologetic look: if she was going to start taking responsibility for her own actions then she should at least start trying to by polite. "Sorry... I'm no good with words: cant even properly talk to my friends about... stuff. Maybe later, when I've practiced a bit? Going to meet a friend up north who's good at stories and songs and stuff..."

She smiled: it probably came off as more of a leer but still, the intention was there. It was this place: you can take a pony out of piracy, but you can never take piracy out of a pony - whenever she hung around places like this she seemed to revert back to how she had acted in her early years at sea.

The sun was setting - not a good sign, considering the rumors that could be heard throughout the streets that it was doing so without the influence of Celestia or Luna - and the less savory members of society were starting to lurk in the shadier alleys.

'Thought the guard cleaned up this sort of stuff? Huh, another duty forgotten about and left for folks to deal with on their own...'

The Aspect darted proudly back to Willow with a decidedly smug look on its face: It had figured out the puzzle!

The one called Midnight Scribbler wasn't the one called Midnight Scribbler: it was the Changing Creature! Kricket could tell because it tasted bland and not good for eating - even worse than Willow's mane. It wasn't warm like the ponies either.. and now it looked like the Changing Creature as well!

Flitting back to Willow, it hiccuped, giving off a frosty aura in the air around it: that had been happening a lot recently - since it discovered that the magic in the air wasn't too good for eating either.

"If you're sure, Pavi, but the offer's open if you want to take me up on it." Aegis couldn't help but smile, and he was fairly sure that he was blushing as well. He placed his bits on the counter and chuckled to himself. "The armour would've been more expensive if Sable hadn't been working the forge today. Things just have a way of working out for the better."

He thought back to their daring escape a week ago, and how he and Aphrodite were nearly flattened by the collapsing temple. 'It's mostly luck that we survived that. I don't know if we can survive another life or death instance like that. Then...there's Noble. He's changed since I knew him...'

"So, know any good and cheap places for drinks?" He hoped Pavisa knew a place, since he had no idea.

Orion Starsinger.

@@SilverHeart,

"Anything really: I guess that practical spells would be more useful, but in all honesty? Its the learning that I'm interested in." Orion said, glancing back at her. "I'm not exactly built for speed or strength so magic always interested me... and if I'm going to continue without Legion then I suppose I should start to study more... expand my horizons, so to speak."

Well, he was satisfied that she wasn't going to put a knife in his back while he slept: that was a start. It was strange how a sad story could put him at ease - as if a history misery made somepony trustworthy. Of course, he was aware of the foolishness of the theory - and he wouldn't leave his guard down for a moment - but still, it was a curious thing to consider.

(OOC: Short post before class.)

Mirror pondered exactly how she should teach somepony her magic. If she could she'd only teach him the basics. There was no need to put herself in danger by teaching him how to recognize or dispel any of her magic. "How about this, Since I'm sure you're capable of learning the basic spells, it shouldn't take more than a few weeks to have decent grasp of the basic concepts. I'll show you how to make the most of them in a few practical demonstrations. Would that work for you?"

Frost Typhoon

Frost was still sightly scared by how hostile the mare sounded towards him, but the feeling subsided when she apologized. He felt a bit sorry for her and wasn't sure why. Maybe it's because she is just a social awkward as I am....but that's jumping to conclusions Frost. scolded himself mentally as he tried to sport a smile and nod. "There is no reason for you to be sorry Kingfisher, if I may call you that?" he asked with a deep sounding giggle. He was trying to come off as nice as he could, but he felt the need to act serious around her.

He hesitated a moment, pondering whether to just smile and nod or sympathize with her. "I'm the same way....I can't even speak to my own family members without being shy and hiding my face once in a while. Pretty stupid huh?" he tried to laugh at the memories, but it was hard. He turned his head to look over at Kingfisher, she appeared to be in thought. "You got something on you mind?" he asked, tilting his head.

Artorias & Gwyn

Artorias inspected the ships at the dock, since he believed he would need one to return to mainland Equestria. Despite his power, wings, and greatly enhanced ability to teleport, he stubbornly insisted on doing things the way a pony would. Gwyn rolled her eyes at the hypocrisy, since normal ponies didn't use Illusions to trick others into commiting suicide with any available means.

"This one looks good. Solid, seaworthy-"

"And you have no idea how to sail it, do you?" Gwyn asked dryly.

Artorias grinned. "How fortunate that there is a plentiful supply of those who do..."

At least twenty coffins rose out of the ground, releasing twenty ghouls. The pirates Artorias had killed barely ten minutes ago.

"Thank you for volunteering, gentlecolts. Now, if you'd be so kind, I find myself in need of a crew. I am commandeering that ship just behind you to return to mainland Equestria, and you fine creatures should still possess the ability to operate a ship. If not, then you are as worthless in death as you were in life."

"Yes, necromancy is commonly practiced among ponies..." Gwyn deadpanned.

Clockwork Green

@@Commander Tangent,

Clockwork reached back into his saddlebag, searching for something. He pulled out a small, round, segmented object with a button on the top. "This is an illusion bomb, I can sell you one, but they don't come cheap. You won't find another like it in all of Equestria. It comes packed with an hour of life, and is sure to disorient anypony who's on your trail. The aura it gives off will extend about ten feet away from the device, and it's completely undetectable while it's active. You can also disable it if you choose, this way you can use it more than once. It's a very handy tool." He grinned, satisfied with the level of interest his new customer had taken in his wares. "This one will be 200 bits, but it will save your flank in a pinch. I have a contract here that guarantees that it will work, or you'll get your money back. Only the best from my workshop!"

Scribbler nodded to Willow, as she went to look for a rest room. He was about to enter before hearing Willow's voice, she sounded startled and mentioned his name. He halted, and turned to listen before rounding the corner to see Zintiik flipping out with the aspect on his ear. He chuckled at the sight, then cleared his throat. "Ehm.. heh, Sorry, I just overheard my name. I'll leave you two alone. I'll be in at the buffet if you need me." With that, he turned around and trotted back into the building. He filled a plate with an assortment of delectable looking food, and began to eat. Upon tasting the first bite, he realized how long it had been since he'd last eaten, and felt his stomach's emptiness suddenly. He'd been so focused, he'd forgotten about hunger until this moment.

"...oh."

Upon realizing that it was not Midnight Scribbler, Willow's smile faded. She was even more disappointed to find that it was Zintiik that she confronted. "Hey, Zintiik." Her tone was blank. No happiness to see him. If she didn't see him with that other mare she would have been overjoyed. She watched Kricket bite his ear and gave Kricket a small smile.

"Orion's at the plaza if you want to see him."

With that, Willow trotted away to follow Scribbler. She put the Aspect on top of her mane again in search of the buffet. She tried to trot into the buffet, but was greeted with a rude welcome.

"If you're coming in, you have to pay!" A stallion at the front desk sneered.

Aphrodite let her instincts lead her to the hotel Blast had mentioned, and they're usually correct. Usually. Lately, her instincts have been getting worse and worse because she isn't so confident anymore. She figured she could tell Blast sooner or later, though. Probably in the next ten years, where they could have a good laugh about it.

Midnight Scribbler

@,

Scribbler nearly choked with what the Stallion said to Willow. He set down his food, and walked over. "What is all this then? You didn't charge me to enter. She's with me.. Why should she pay where I did not?" In his mind, he dared this Stallion to give a straight answer. He know it would be just as likely for him to be charged for defending her as much as it would be for him to drop the issue. Scribbler's face was stern, he wasn't about to stand for unfair treatment of different ponies, no matter who they were. He secretly stored up a magical charge, which didn't show on his horn, this spell came from within, and would give him an edge if he needed to be more.. persuasive.

Midnight Sky

After leading leading his sister through the winding streets of Canterlot to the false wall that led to his safe house, Midnight Sky had gone around to several stores purchasing various items that he wanted to restock on. He had finished his shopping about as the sun began to set, though the fact that some whispers indicated that neither Celestia nor Luna were doing it came to Midnight's attention. The idea that two objects controlled by the sisters were now out of control was certainly not good news, and Midnight could only think of that pony who stole the Litany's power as a possible cause. With that in mind Midnight Sky rushed to the safe house to keep an eye on his sister. Once inside the safe house Midnight did a quick scan of the structure to make sure Sunshine was still there, and it took barely a moment thanks to the strange crystals covering the walls. In truth the safe house was little more than a cave with furniture that Midnight Sky had effectively claimed as his own since nopony else in Canterlot even knew about it. When he entered the 'room' that Sunshine was in Midnight saw that she was already cooking some sort of stew. "I didn't know you can cook. Did you learn from somepony in Ponyville?" Midnight asked his sister simply as he began unpacking his knew items before taking off his armor. It was going to be a long night of work and preparation.

Sunshine Rays

After her brother had left her in the cave he called a safe house, Sunshine decided to make herself useful. It was plainly obvious that just like when they had built their house in the Everfree, Midnight Sky had no talent in decorating. As such, Sunshien took advantage of the layout of the caves and moved the furniture and other items around so that the cave would at least feel like a house, even if their were no windows. That was another thing, the crystal walls seemed to absorb magic but it was obvious that Midnight had tried to use his illumination spell on them because  the cave was filled with a light purple glow. Sunshine quickly fixed that with her own illumination spell, which gave off a far more comforting yellow glow. After that was all done she was glad to find that the pantry was quite well stocked, for it all being non-parishable, and decided to make some dinner. Before long Sunshine Rays was stirring a pot with some lettuce and onion soup that actually tasted fairly well considering she just sort of made things up as she went. It wa around then that her brother finally returned. "Oh no, I made this up just now. I think you'll like it." Sunshine said happily before pouring Midnight a bowl and levitating it to him. She didn't care if he wanted to fix his armor, he could at least do it with some kind-of-fresh food in his stomach, and she was glad when he began eating it while he worked. Even if Midnight Sky didn't comment, she knew he liked it purely because he didn't stop eating it, so that was all the encouragement she needed to have a bowl herself. She might as well eat up then help her brother work, otherwise he'll be up all night and not get any rest before their train leaves tomorrow morning.

Blast walked with Aphrodite to the hotel. It was nice to have a mare like her around, even though she was a complete buzzkill sometimes. He remembered back in the caverns when she kissed him on the cheek. With the way she reacted when she saw him earlier, he couldn't help but have the suspicion that she saw him as... something else.

"So... what have you been up to this past week, Aphrodite?" Blast asked her, trying to start something up.

It had been a week since Eclipse's last evasion of death's cold grip. Heck, he's avoided it so long, i might as well be his mortal enemy. He's returned to his lonely, empty life, alone with only his inner thoughts to keep him company. It made him extremely depressed, not knowing anything. It made him wonder what there was to live for in life anyway. Does his determination to find his past keep him going? He couldn't figure it out.

But, on that same day, he saw Blast going through his home in Canterlot. Finding this out, he threw on a raggedy old cloak and immediately tailed them, especially keeping his eye on this newer stallion. Who was he? Did he have anything planned? He needed to know for sure.

Lost Thought wandered through the towns streets in an uproar, no, she was hysteric. She couldn't remember how she felt. Her very reactions had been stolen by a stranger; or did she know him? Her mind was slowly forgetting what had just happened not to long ago. She made a quick decision to write down whatever information she could still remember.

"It was roughly around... whatever time I got here. Some weird... Stallion, maybe a mare, started asking me questions about my book. I don't quite remember it, but I chased him, we ended up someplace high. Then I... heard the sounds of ripping. I recovered what I could, but the paper was scattered. I even saw some just start... vanishing. What type of pony could do that again?"

"No, some of my life is still missing..."

"My name is lost Thought: I have a brother named~, I'm an inventor..."

"Wait, oh no!"

She quickly turned towards the back of her book where she kept her inventions blueprints. Only a few remained. "Fire bomb, smoke, distraction, and~" She had a hard time pronouncing the name on the last one. It had a bunch of warnings labeled all over it. Why couldn't she remember writing it? "Pincushion?" The rest of the pages were lost. She started to pace around in circles panicking. "What am I going to~"

_________________________________________________________________________________________

"Do?" A mare stood in the middle of a towns street, holding a book in her hands. She knew none of the ponies that surrounded her. She actually didn't know anything at all. She had no idea what to do or what she was doing. With nothing better to do, she opened the book in her hooves and started to read.

As she read, her memories slowly returned. Although, somethings didn't add up. There were certain gaps in her memory. She remembered most of who she was, but when ever she would mention an invention or time spent with... some pony. A few pages would be torn after it.

Well, at least she knew her name; from she read, that was an accomplishment for herself. At least she knew something about her condition, but not the entirety of it. Lost Thought was ready to put the book in her bag and ask a pony for help, when she came upon a very hastily written page. It explained what had happened, at least, enough for her to know that she was lucky to still have a name, and some of the traits on the first few pages. Still, nearly all of her inventions were lost.

"I guess I will have to make new ones... Maybe walking around will jolt a few of my memories."

Orion Starsinger.

@@SilverHeart,

"I'd appreciate it. If theres anything I can do in return..." He said - mostly out of habit, being raised with a strong concept of give and take - he doubted that there was anything she would actually need from him.

That was the problem: before he had been a leader - strong, omniscient and worthy of their trust. Now he was nothing again - just the unicorn that read too many books. The unicorn who wanted to protect hi sister - to think that less than a week ago he had seriously being considering revolution against the sisters... he had the power inside him, and it had been taken!

But he would change that. He'd give them a reason to follow him again: he'd give them a purpose - a place where they could live as equals. Without fear or hatred.

Artorias & Gwyn

It was official. Gwyn hated the sea. They had only just gotten underway and she had thrown up over the side three times.

"I didn't know an Aspect of the Litany could be seasick." Artorias teased.

"Urp...when I feel better, Master, I will make you pay for this..." Gwyn said, glaring at Artorias.

Artorias scoffed. "That brings the count to ninety-one. Where did this 'Master' nonsense come from, anyway?"

"Because you have too many names. Can't you pick one like all the others?" Gwyn asked, not so steady on her feet with the rocking of the ship.

"Too many ponies know me as 'Noble Persona', and very few can connect 'Noble Persona' to 'Artorias'. It is safer to use my alias." Artorias said non-chalantly, opening a book he had found in the captain's quarters. One benefit of the Litany was enhanced vision. It had taken a few days to get used to the new sensations. Now it simply adapted to the lighting of the enviroment.

"And ponies don't trust you? I have no idea why..." Gwyn said in a sarcastic manner.

"It is necessary. Orion had some good ideas, though. Stir up a rebellion and overthrow the Princesses. I like the sound of that."

"So you've told me... five times in three days. Why don't you talk about something else for a change? Something like 'How soft is your fur, Gwyn?' A lady gets upset when she's being ignored." Gwyn said, drifting from sarcasm to mock indignance.

"A lady doesn't gulp her food down in three bites..." Artorias said under his breath.

Pavisa shrugs slightly, nodding her head towards the direction where their rooms waited.  "I may know a couple spots, but nowhere in this part of town that I can go in dressed like this.  Let me leave my armour in my room first."

Without really waiting for a reply Pavisa turns and trots to her room, unlocking the door with the key and shrugging her saddlebags off onto the bed.  It wasn't an impressive room, but for the price it was about what she had expected.  The mare starts the process of removing her armour - with most of it being a new set the straps were a little tougher to work than she was used to, but it was a practiced motion she'd done many times before.

As she removed each piece of gear she adjusted the straps so that she would be able to slip it on quickly the next time, then slid the armour under her bed.  She wasn't about to leave the expensive gear in plain sight in a place like this, even with a lock on the door.  Eventually she manages to get her gear stowed away, grabbing what bits she had left in order to buy some drinks and heading back out to the lobby.  At the last minute she decided to prop her halberd across the inside of her doorframe - she didn't completely trust the hotel's lock.

He starts to follow her to check before remembering that he wasn't currently in a disguise, jumping back into the alley.  Darn it...  Come on, bug-brain.  Think of something.

He lets his mind drift back to the different ponies he knew, but none of them seemed to be a good choice.  He lets out a loud sigh as, not seeing any other options, he changes back into Tactic Wind.  I'll just have to hope I don't run into that mare again...

With a glance around he notices Willow...  Sitting outside of a restaurant?  Odd...  Did something happen?  He trots up to her, glancing towards the restaurant curiously.  "Willow?  What's the matter?  I thought you and Scribbler were looking for something to eat."

@@Midnight Scribbler,

Icarus looked at the sphere in his hoof.

Most intriguing, heh, this stallion seems to be in a lot happier mood l of a sudden. But anyways, time to test the invention.

Icarus repeated the instructions given to him by clockwork, and awaited to see what the machine would do.

Frost Typhoon

Frost kept pace with Kingfisher, nit making eye contact. He honestly felt a bit of fear about this mare. He figured he had better watch what he said if he didn't want to get decked in the jaw. He looked up when the inn came into his view he smiled slightly. His smile vanished when he felt a hoof prod his chest. He looked down at Kingfish with a scared face. He crossed his hoof in front of his chest before holding it up text to his head. "I swear, I really have no reason to gossip anyway." He said n an emotionless tone, shrugging.

Aegis Dare

@

'Was it something I did?' Aegis wondered as Pavisa walked into her room. Without thinking too much, he stowed his gear in his own room, writing down a list of his things. When he got to the wingblades, he paused. Not entirely sure what to do with them, he wrapped his newly acquired travelling cloak around them, and stowed them behind his saddlebags. If anything went missing, he would know.

"That's gear dealt with. Now for the lock... I bet it's like all of those flimsy locks you see in roadside taverns." Aegis said, inspecting the lock. "I knew it. I wonder if Pavi knows how to fortify these things..."

And as luck would have it, she was exiting her room at this moment. Aegis kept his voice to a whisper in case other ponies were listening. "Hey, Pavi, do you know anything about locks?"
