technology Computer Memory Fail

Okay so I am on my computing doing some downloads and I realize I am out of space on my hard drive.

I am using a macbook pro so I wasn't surprised. 

 

I started to delete some stuff but it wasn't enough. And then I found a folder called "movies" under my hard drive. I clicked on it and had over 160 videos and clips there.

 

After deleting it and emptying the trash, I now have 60 GB of space available.

i have like 30 gigs free on my laptop. but that's mainly because it's crammed to the top with games and solidworks projects for school XD

i guess you could do a wipe with CCleaner. but i dunno if that's for apple too.

If you're on Mac OS X then you definitely wanna get CCleaner and Titanium Software's ONYX.

 

Onyx is amazing and will clear lots of stuff from your Mac as well as repairing disk permissions and rebuilding indexes. If you download it, go straight to the automation tab and click execute (:

I just got my new laptop yesterday, after transferring all of my old files to it.

I have 600gb remaining

I have a lot of data since, I had to transfer my old Firefox files into a folder just to save some memory.

Actually in general... I Don't really have to worry about Storage issues... because I currently have more than I know what to do with.

Back when the largest drive I had was 80 gigs, I ran below 10% free. After that, I kept my old SATA drives in the tower as I get new ones. Now I have 900.2 GB free out of ~1.5 TB. Now I just need a larger SSD.

 

Semi-related note: Never ran out of RAM before but I hammered the page file pretty hard.
