No answers? (Spoilers)

So fare we have had 2 questions come up in episode.

 

Can Scootaloo fly and is Pinkie Pie related to the Apple Family?

And so far none of these questions have been answered. They been kinda left it up the air and to just let the fans choose. But, this is kinda getting annoying. I just want a simple strait yes or no answers. Also it just make it seems like the characters went thru all that just for nothing. Making the adventures pointlees. So, Why are the writers dodging questions and not giving us answers? Also how many more times are they going to do this?

Now, listen. It's not annoying. It's not about the outcome, it's about the adventure getting there. We learned an important lesson; about how blood ain't gonna make you family, and how just because you can't do something doesn't make you worthless. I also don't know what a 'simple strait' answer is. They aren't dodging questions, they're probably building up to something BIG. I really love the new direction, and sometimes the makers love to keep fans guessing.

 

Also Scootaloo is confirmed to not fly by the way it's just if Pinkie is part of the Apple family or not.

I think it's all about the journey and the adventure where it's all building up to what you would expect, we all see it in different ways anyway. If the writers were avoiding the questions, we wouldn't be wondering on what the answers are to our questions think of it as building up something to the point that you would be excited.

 

Scootaloo isn't able to fly just yet, we might not know if Pinkie is related to Applejack too. Whether Scootaloo is able to fly or not, she has shown that she has grown as a character from her past experiences with her friends and that she is learning to learn from her mistakes.

 

The smudged family tree might have put a roadblock on the topic if Pinkie is related to Applejack, whether or not she is related to her the lesson here is that friends and anyone that you have grown a strong connection with can be your family. As a quote from Spy Kids 3 would say, ''Everyone is your family.''

Well to some like me, it is annoying. True the adventure was fun, but if you don't receive answer what changes with your characters? Nothing. They go back to their lives with nothing new about them. That's bad character development. Pinkie just goes back to the honorary family member just like before.

 

Also in the Scootaloo episode they kinda did leave it in the air she could fly one day or not. So they are still dodging it.

Possibly because the writers are afraid there will be arguments if they choose to say that Scootaloo can fly or that Scootaloo can't fly. Same as there's bound to be lots of arguments over Pinkie being related to the Apple family or her not being related. They're just sticking to the safe side. But the adventure before the ending makes it all worth it, if you ask me. It just allows it all to be up to each fan.

I honestly think that Scootaloo is a stronger character as a pegasus that can't fly. And I know we can't be sure if she will ever be able to fly or not, but making things more open-ended creates more space for us to enjoy the real lesson behind the episode. If we knew the answer straight away, it would be pointlessly boring, and that would detract from the point of the show altogether, since it values the friendship and work for the journey and not for the destination. Besides, leaving this kind of cliffhangers doesn't necessarily mean dodging. They could be foreshadowing, setting up, or simply trying to make room for stuff.

 

This is also why I think the CMC will never get their cutie marks: the whole point of their creation is to make a personification (ponyfication?) of discovery and coming of age. Giving them cutie marks would be destroying such entertaining plotline, and the same could be applied to Scootaloo's flying or lack thereof.

 

As for the Pinkie Apple Pie thing, I don't see why being an Apple would change anything. The way I see it, Applejack and Pinkie would maintain the same relationship regardless, since the whole point of the episode was that biological ties don't really mean anything and it's the emotional bonds that count. It will only be bad development if they fail to show that they've effectively learned this lesson in future episodes.

its true that these questions haven't been answered but its not important to their characters that they should be.

 

scootaloo is a better character for it because now she understands that she isn't rainbow dash and that she shouldn't try to imitate her because scootaloo is scootaloo

 

pinkie pie may not be an apple by blood but she's an apple by bonds. its a different kind of insight into a relationship between friends because reaching the point where friends can call each other brothers/sisters requires a history and a great deal of understanding of the other person

 

these points may never be brought up again but the way they were presented add a lot to their characters

Well yeah. That was mentioned in the episode, Super Speedy Cider 6000 episode. AJ Called all of her friends honorary members. So Pinkie will just go back to being that.

their are 6 damn keys.  we've not seen the shadow of one and we're more than a third of the way in.  the apples consider pinkie family.

Well Rainbow Dash could fly at a young age could fly. Fluttershy was a weak flyer, but she could still fly. Pound Cake (Not bad writing flying has just not been explained well in their world), the two pegasus in, Flight to the Finish, were flying in circles. So there have been plenty of pegasus around her age that can fly. It just has not been confirmed if she will fly or not.

Whether or not Scootaloo can fly and Pinkie Pie is part of the Apple family was never even the question of their respective episodes in the first place. As Shift and practically everyone else said, the point was to show that your inability to do something doesn't make you worthless because for one, there's bound to be something else you can excel at, but more importantly it's how much spirit you put into something. In spite of the fact Scootaloo can't fly, the CMC's routine was by far the best one.

 

Similarly, Pinkie Pie being part of the Apple family wasn't put in question at all, but the hypothesis that she is part of the family was the catalyst that lead to the journey that taught everyone blood relations don't define what a family is, but the bonds people create between each other and how strong those bonds are.

 

Season 4 didn't set out to answer these kinds of questions. In fact, I don't think anyone would've even put any serious thought whether or not Pinkie is part of the Apple family beyond fanfics if it wasn't for the episode's preview, for instance. All in all, don't let your expectations about what questions need answering get in the way of actually enjoying the show. This season is possibly the best one yet, and I think so because I'm ok with the questions above not having to be answered even tho I have wondered about them myself. There's no reason to be upset.

take delancy.  he said he was only in 1-2 episodes in season 4.

he was in the first 2 (unless he's counting those as one like most people do lol). and he's in one down the line.

So most likely it may not happen again. Or maybe Twilight will train her to be the next powerful unicorn. It could happen. In time the best will be out shinned one day.

Its really not bad writing, they explained it at the beginning and its not hard to figure out that the babies have no control over when it happens, its easy to say they are doing it without control as rarity and rainbow dash said. Also scoots isn't handy cap...there are things called late bloomers. Theres no reason to argue this, its stupid and seems pointless.

If your telling me having my own view is disruptive,

it's unlikely I'm simply going to conform.

I can't repeat back to you what kind of argument you described it as.
