Not to sound mean, but given the circumstance, I would either laugh, help out, or just disregard what was just said.

 

If it was in a situation where somepony was trying to insult me, but it comes out all wrong, then I'll laugh at it. If somepony is just needing help in say, a video game and they honestly were innocent to whatever they are asking, then I'll help. And if it is just some jerk who always thinks he is right, is the grace of Celestia and just spews crap 24/7, then I ignore that pony at the time.

 

(however that is my reaction to some of the things I have heard said before that I managed to bury)
