Out of curiosity, why does your character need a backstory in order to be drawn here?  I can understand if the character doesn't look cool but I'm just confused as to what the backstory has to do with anything.  Not to complain or anything, it's just that I haven't gotten around to working much on my OCs' backstories because I have other characters that I'm working on first.

Mostly personal preference. I consider the backstory of a character to be more important than the actual design. There are exceptions of course, but 9/10 what makes or breaks a character for me is the backstory.

My OC is Called "Shining Shield", he is just a recolour of Shining Armour, he has a light grey coat, blue and yellow mane and tail, purpl eyes and his cutie mark is a blue diamond.
