I think I'm a little broken, honestly...

So, I've been part of the fandom for a while now. Like... I don't know... 2012ish.

 

I've come to a few conclusions:

 

Even for a Brony, I'm weird as hell.

 

You name a kink. Anyone. I dare you. I'll have read and dug it.

 

For a Brony, I am one mean-ass guy.

 

I wear the badge of Gilda as an honor. Seriously, I'll verbally destroy anyone for being stupid in my presence. Also, pessimism... er, and condescension... and contempt...

 

For a Brony, I'm way too conservative.

 

Libertarianism. Discuss.

 

For a Brony, I'm too... not Bronyish.

 

I have this horrible feeling that I'm separated from most of the fandom by this glass wall of personality and preferences.

 

Anyone else feel like they're just... removed, detached, or separated... from the fandom like this?

I've only got one scene done so far, a threesome between the reader, Twilight, and Celestia. The plot is simple, Discord decides to cause some chaos and gives you a magical amulet with the "Need it, "Want it" spell Twilight used, with you as the target. The futa is an option, I'll have to rewrite without horsecock next. And then another version for a female protagonist.

 

But enough about my fic, didn't mean to derail the thread.

If you're different it's okay. It's good actually. In my opinion there is nothing better than not to be like everyone else. So if you think that you different, you must proud yourself.

I'll always be a brony in the sense that I enjoy the show, but if you're talking about personality-wise, I don't think I fit the standard criteria for what people might consider a typical brony in the fandom.

 

I've noticed that I'm not quite as idealistic or optimistic as a lot of bronies on here. I don't always think that the simplest solution to a problem is the best solution, and I see that kind of thought process go on a lot around here. On the opposite side of that spectrum, I do tend to over-think things too sometimes.

 

Honestly though, I would avoid defining the whole fandom by a specific checklist of personality traits. A sh*t-ton of people make up the fandom, so I couldn't accurately label all of them, or think of myself as "different" from them in a general sense.

Meh, you are who you are and you shouldn't really try to change that... even given some of the things you've said about yourself. To be perfectly honest; I don't think the world is complete without people like you in it, there's two sides for every coin and it's not what side you're on that matters it's that you are on the, metaphorical, coin at all.

Yeah, I know. I've felt like I wasn't a true brony (or pegisister idk) and like I'm too different but I think you need to understand not everyone is the same and a lot of bronies don't fit the qualifications you metioned. It's no big deal.

I don't think you're that different than a lot of people in the fandom.  Even if you are I think the reason people that are a lot different than what you'd expect end up in the fandom is cause it's a pretty welcoming and understanding community.  I mean sure there's arguments and disagreements, but on average I think it's pretty open to welcoming in people that might not perfectly fit into that brony image.

You aren't broken, you are who you are, an individual living on the planet we call Earth. Despite stereotypes and generalizations placed on Bronies, we have people of all kinds in this fandom, there aren't specific traits that make you a "real" brony. Just be you.

But being a Brony/pony is a choice.

There's the natural you, then there's who you want to be.

For instance, The natural me hates raking leaves but the other day I had a huge raking job.

And the whole while I did it i kept thinking, I'm a pony, this is what I do. I play in the leaves and grass all day and it made the job a lot easier.

 

There's you, who would tell someone to F off, Then there's you who wants to be more like one of the mane6 so you think, What would starlight twinkle do?

 

I think she'd say, Whats the matter? Lets go to funville and have fun! There's no need to feel that way.

And that's what I'm doing, I'm trying to train myself to think more like a pony, Cause that's what I admire in life.
