Alan Wake. It has its fans, but I've never seen many people talk about it after its release in 2010, which is a shame. It's one of the most atmospheric games I've ever played. Between the engaging story and enthralling environment, it's hard not to be sucked into this world. The only thing that breaks the illusion is the terrible lip-syncing. Otherwise, great experience.

Gex 3D Enter the Gecko was one of my favourite games for the PS1 when I was younger! I still like it now, it gets nowhere near the amount of attention it deserves IMO.

Cause you can play as a wolf! It has a bit of strategy to it while in third person view! It had a really nice cartoon style to it and the bosses were cool to!

I'll also say Metroid: Other M, Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge are all pretty underrated.

For me, Sonic 3D Blast and Super Mario Sunshine

 

The only problem I had with Sonic 3D Blast was that the controls were too slippery. Otherwise, I enjoyed the game.

And Super Mario Bros. 2 USA as well. The main excuse I hear for hating it is "IT WAS A RIP OFF OF DOKI DOKI PANIC." ScrewAttack put it on their Top 10 Worst Mario game just for that, no lie. Isn't that a bit TOO extreme?

Its gameplay is only slightly inferior to its predecessors', and it arguably has the best story in the entire Mario series.

It was decent, yet like i said it failed pretty badly, b/c it was corny. Tbh, i dont understand what they made a game on it, lol.

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine - Think of it a sort of clone of the old Tomb Raider games; precursor to Uncharted in a way. The game was MEGA fun even though the controls were wonky.

 

Dragon's Dogma - A third person action RPG whose main action is the boss battles; reminiscent of Shadow of the Colossus. Yeah, it can get tedious, but the battles with giant creatures and ESPECIALLY the main boos MORE than made up for that!

 

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Another third person action RPG. While the style is reminiscent of Fable, the gameplay is different. It is so fun & dynamic; it is a damned shame that we'll never see a sequel.

 

Croc & Croc 2 - Solid platformers. I never actually owned them, but I REALLY enjoyed what I played.

 

Prince of Persia '08 - Having the unfortunate luck of following the excellent Sands of Time trilogy, the '08 reboot was generally liked, but it always seemed many people hated it for being too easy. Yeah, while it was simple, I think it added to the gaming experience. It was mega fun to play and so BEAUTIFUL to explore.

 

Captain Skyhawk - My favorite NES game; and I feel like the only one who knows of it!

Some are fans yet most are not, but Megaman X is one underrated game, IMO.
