gaming What was your very first video game?

I thought I was going to have the oldest video game here.  Not quite.  :P

:P

I had some kind of a pong game once.  I bet it was one of those all in one units that didn't even take cartridges, right?  My first cartridge based system was an Atari 2600 which came with Combat and my dad also got Pac-Man because I loved the arcade game so much.

Yep. I had to go look it up to be sure. As far as I can tell from the pictures I found, it was likely a Super-Pong unit from 1976, which lines up with my memory of being about 8 at the time. :)

You probably got your Atari before I did.  :)

I don't remember what year that I got the atari, and I'm pretty sure it came with a game...maybe it was asteroids or...the tank game (was that combat?). It was the early 80's when I got it but I actually don't remember getting it, I just remember my dad bringing me adventure and I playing the game all day. Level 3 in adventure is still fun, because it's random...and who couldn't love a game with dragons that look like crazy mental ducks.

It is sad that most of my class mates don't even know what Ataris are :<

The earliest game that I really loved was Yoshi's Island, but my first game was this Tony Hawk ripoff called Grind Session on PS1. It was actually pretty fun, unfortunately when I was like 6 my older sister snapped the disc. >_>  Don't worry, I'm still planning my revenge. (we need a Pinkie w/mustache eponicon)

Half-Life on the PC. Oh, the memories of playing the greatest FPS of all time at the age of four still gives me a warm feeling inside. I was so good at that game..... until I went into the Xen dimension. Even back then, I appreciated the story, the gameplay and the all-around awesomeness of Half-Life. It has been, and always shall be, my favourite game of all time.

OMG, WUT?! LOL What am I looking at?!

haha, daring do apparently has taken the golden cup and the dragon is chasing her...but she's running the wrong way...in the game you have to take the cup to the gold castle to win...

but yea...that's a 1970-80's video game dragon. Actually I think that color dragon was the slowest dragon..don't know why she's scared of him! (haha)

Yep...that's a 80's dragon :) There were 3 different color dragons in the game. Yellow, Green and Red...red was the fast one if I remember rightly. They even had names I think...

My first video game could have been Super Smash Bros., Star Fox 64 or Pokemon Red.

I was about 7 years behind, but hell, it was fun. I was 6 when I first played, I was born 1 year after the N64's release.

I remember other games too:

I had: Banjo-Kazooie (my favorite N64 game to this day), Donkey Kong 64, Diddy Kong Racing, and Dr. Mario 64. Those were the days. But not as great as when I got my GameCube (probably still works, I don't have it...)

Mario Kart 64 is and always will be the best starting video game. I got so good at that game later just so I could be my brothers at it because they would always make fun of me for losing to them. xD

They do look like ducks now that you mention it!   It's hard to believe how simple graphics were back then.
