gaming Reasons to get a Wii U

I'm going to make a video this month, detailing 10 reasons to get a Wii U.  I'd like some help compiling the list, to make sure that it's well structured.  Here's what I've got so far.

Exclusive games are obviously at number one.  They should be with any console, so I'm set there.  Nintendo Network and the superior multi-platform games are also in the top three (I am aware that not all multi-plat games are superior on the Wii U).

I'm not sure if I should count Club Nintendo and the rebate program as two separate things.  They are separate things, but were made to the same effect.  But if I combine those two, I might as well bundle the free tails, demos, and the eShop in general with them.

Obviously, the backwards comparability is on the list, but I'm on the fence about the multi-media stuff and the gamepad innovations.

Maybe I should reduce my count to five reasons and make them more general.  What do you guys think?

My reasons for wanting a WiiU are:

Miiverse is pretty baller

The networking and online features are MUCH better than the Wii's (Dunno about gaming yet)

Lots of exclusive games I want

The potential of really cool asymmetrical gameplay via the gamepad

The gamepad can be used in lieu of a TV, allowing the playing of games or watching of Netflix.

Nintendo is always known for their duribility, so I don't expect it to break anytime soon

Online is still free, as opposed to the Xbox and PS4

It can control the TV and that's just awesome

Can I just say the Internet Explorer is much more efficient? I hated the Wii and 3DS browsers because they were inconvenient for browsing, but on the Wii U it's much more comfortable.

Aside from that

The gamepad is simply amazing. I surprisingly found it more comfortable to use than I thought. Playing straight on the Gamepad is a great thing because there are countless times where the TV is inaccessible and having the Gamepad to interact with always comes in handy. Having a touch screen controller also adds a whole new layer of ideas to use for games. Unlike the PS4 and Xbone I actually felt like the Wii U had a lot of change entering the new generation. Nintendo thinks outside the box and that's good, I feel like I'm going to truly enter a new experience when I buy a Wii U.

I think reducing to 5, more general reasons is a good idea. You'll have more to talk about with each topic.

Exclusive games are at the top. Though there hasn't been one yet to make me buy (that would take a good Metroid game, Prime 3 is the only reason I bought a Wii).

HDMI is a plus if it's something you hated the Wii didn't have.

uh... can't come up with anything else. It just hasn't shown to be innovative/different enough from the Wii IMO, and there haven't been enough games to garner my interest without Metroid.

I'd say one of the bigger reasons to buy a Wii-U is to support Nintendo's ways of trying something new every console. They do something to improve player interaction with the console's interface.

Obviously not everyone cares about this and if they aren't interested in any of the games this is less of a thing but even if the current innovations and concepts aren't super spectacular to you imagine what Nintendo could do if the right people from the right audience actually supported them?

Nintendo still makes top-notch games and their consoles, while lacking in power, have a way of making smooth interfaces that are easy to understand and rarely muck up.

First off, they have a more dynamic way of gaming, while most other competitors stick with controllers, Nintendo tries new innovations such as motion and and tablet like methods.

They also have just as many exclusives that anyone would enjoy for the most part like zelda and monster hunter.

And for my final reason, they are the definitive price is right deal when it comes to selling, as they're consoles are never expensive when compared to the competition.

The Wii U seems like an excellent console to me: decent processing power, good looking games, original and useful controller...

It also has a RIDICULOUSLY LOW price for a console (The Wind Waker + Wii U bundle is an amazing offer).

Also, and that's something not many people take in consideration, those recent consoles use a LOT more power that, for example, the Wii U... It will be a lot cheaper both in short and long term !

( Too bad my parents don't want a console yet :( )

Yup, but that doesn't always work: They tried Playing with Power, but the gamers just saw red *ba-dum-tsing*

To be honest... I've been neglecting my Wii U (as well as my 3DS, but that's another story...) lately, but it's really a great console. So many people just don't "get" the gamepad, and even though it's been admitted by Nintendo that lots of people just don't see its importance and think it's a Wii add-on, I think it's one of the best things about the console. After using it for the map and inventory in The Wind Waker HD, I couldn't play as well without both screens. It made the experience so much better!

Another (obvious) reason is just the games. Sure, there haven't been that many mind-blowing games for it yet, but Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros. 4, as well as more assuredly wonderful first-party titles are coming out in the near future, and that's a reason to be excited. :)
