Not serious answer:

ALL SHALL FEAR ME.

FOR I AM...... THE BRONY! *lightning crackles in the background*

WE WILL TAKE OVER THIS WORLD, AND SOON, THE UNIVERSE! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Serious answer.

I wouldn't say we are feared. I would say that we are made fun of in the conscious mind of a hater, but then again feared in the subconscious.

for instance

they are saying "MLP is for little girls only, anyone who likes that and is above the age of 9 is instantly a gay faggot mother bucker"

while in the subconsciousness they know better

Not too feared, actually. In a way, society laughs at us. Because we are people "too old to like ponies." Many shows reference ponies to poke fun at our antics, and honestly, It's quite fun laughing at myself sometimes.

Yeah, as I said before (If I didn't, lay off, I have short-term), a teacher goes, "My Little Pony? Isn't that for little kids?"

Fear is always a base of discrimination. However, that doesn't mean they fear-fear us. No, people laugh at us. However, (Verbally) attacking someone because they are different is an act of fear.

Anyway, I think the fact that only a few people attacked you on that forum is because the rest simply don't care..

Something (or someone) is TRULY discriminated against if we can't talk about it

without any fear of suffering prejudice yourself.

Everyone said their sarcasm before I could get mine out. XP
In conclusion: We're not feared, like at all.  :squee:

Feared? Us? Nah, we're not feared... yet. But then one of us becomes Director of the FBI, then CIA, then Dept. of Homeland Security, a few enlisted bronies here and there rise to the rank of general officer in their respective uniformed services...

Perhaps I've said too much...

Sorry, serious now. I don't think we're feared, at least in the conventional sense. We're just an Internet oddity, grown folk who like a show that's ostensibly for little girls, which, like anything else that's odd and peculiar in this world, will get us poked and prodded. Some hate it, some like it, most don't care for it, none fear it, I'd think.

I will say that we're probably hitting some nerves and spooking some out there by defying traditional gender roles and such (for the guys, anyway), being into something so "girly," which I think is great, personally! It's a new day and age where anyone can like anything they please and no one (sensible) gives a damn, so long as it doesn't hurt anyone. And I think that whole "busting down barriers of masculinity and femininity" was kind of what Lauren Faust was aiming for, right? If her deviantart is anything to go by.

Whoa, went on a tangent there, sorry. But yeah. We're no more feared than, say, Trekkies.

...

I'm not planning a brony coup of the United States. Stop looking at me like that.

Bronies are feared?

More like misunderstood.

"Typical, right?"

Wrong.

We're the exact same people we were before we fell head over hills for ponies, we're just happier and have better songs on our iPods now.

I don't think most people are actually afraid of bronies, they are probably confused of our existence. Some people are afraid of bronies like really closed-minded, Bible-thumping, religious extremists, but those are in the minority, at least in my experience.

I mean the fear people people have of them is same as the fear of furries mainly misplaced prejudice that they're all just some random pedophiles. Nobody is afraid of some random brony but there is still the image people have of bronies and furries. That might at least have people be afraid of them yet it isnt like because they're oh so scary they might make a reference to the show or something haha.
