I love Luna to pieces, until Applejack broke it recently there was even a tie between her, AJ and Twilight for my favorite pony and I started the Luna fanclub thread on here which is one of the most active fanclubs on here and one in which you are welcome to post in if you want.

But while Luna dosen't get anywhere near as much screen time as I would like and has so much untapped potential it is not even funny, she is far far far from being unappreciated. Poll, after poll after poll has shown that Luna is not only the most popular princess but is actually one of the top 5 most popular ponies in the show. Luna also has tons of fanfics, drawings and other fanworks of her.

No most certainly not under appreciated by the bronies the only problem is she doesn't have a big enough role. She has 3 episodes based on her, her job is to raise the moon Celestia can do that too she really isn't needed in canterlot she is just sort of there. She would only be important if Celestia was kidnapped and she wasn't THEN she would do something other than raise the moon nopony really cares about. I can see why she rebelled in the first place.

Luna is the literal opposite of ''underappreciated''. She's absolutely overrated. Like, extremely overrated. I think she's cute, but I for some reason like Twilicorn and Cadance more... (Yes I truely do. Come at me, bro)

 

But looking at the writers, yes, she is underappreciated. A shitload of bronies will just freak out the second they see her (not including me), and I don't see why she's rarely in any episode. Not just because pure cute-factor, but an actual story involving her would be nice. We've had about... one... episode where Luna was really one of the main characters.

 

Take a guess which episode I'm referring too.

Being a "Luna is BEST PONY" fan myself, I can even admit she's nothing underrated.  I wouldn't say overrated, though, there's a good and acceptable reason why she's getting all the wubs. 

 

But second best pony, Celestia should be the subject of this topic. Or even Cadance in this manner.   They get a lot of flack from the fandom, and It's upsetting that they don't get a chance.

Celestia has ZERO episodes about her, she seems more of a plot device than a character. It would be nice to see an episode all about her, and her relationship with her sister. It would be awesome to see the sisters pull shenanigans on each other.

Luna has so many fans, which is impressive considering she's done close to nothing at all in the show. If anything, she's overrated. I'm not bashing on Luna, I actually love her design, but she's not a well-enough developed character in my opinion.
