Crystals arent that rare. Most random stone contains small ammounts of quartz. Diamonds are rare.

To answer your question, yes. I'm still working through the math, but it's in the theoretical stage as of yet. Theoretically speaking, it should be pretty easy to construct. I will get back to you on the matter
