technology Internet connection doesn't exist on Ubuntu 13.10?

I have Ubuntu 13.10 installed on a different HDD. It's my secondary and for some reason, the internet will not work properly. I have my GTX 660 drivers installed and my HDD has a awesome write speed, not SSD worthy obviously. But is there anyone that can help me configure the wifi. It's not my internet connection, because windows 7 and MacOSX work just fine. I cannot install the proper apps to get Ubuntu fully optimal.

Connect via Ethernet and install any proprietary drivers that show up for your WIFI adapter.

If none come up then use NDISWRAPPER on some of the windows drivers for your WIFI adapter.

Ethernet is not an option in my room. I will install the rest of Nvidia's drivers and see if that works I know Windows 7 is only slow because Security Essentials eats my CPU. LInux I need to get around and navigate on how to speed some things

UPDATE: Yeah.....I know my internet sucks, like really it's abysmal! But now I'm getting pretty mad. Because this entire computer was cleaned and I can't even update MSE. I will boot back into Linux and try installing those drivers again.

maybe you can give me the output of:

lspci

from the terminal. That will help us out more easily.

What's on here? because I only see a network adapter option at the very end. I have signal strength, it's just not working as it should.

With that attitude you're on your own.

I'll be on the #! forums if you want me.

I'm not being rude. I just can't stand  not having the install work properly. I cannot use Ubuntu and paste text to you, if I cannot use Chrome in Ubuntu.

alright, sorry for making assumptions.

okay, in your Ubuntu install or whatever, open up a text editor (should be gedit), open up a terminal, type in the command I said earlier, copy the output to the text file, save the text file to a flash drive, plug into the computer that has internet, open up the file, and paste the output here.

there is no flash drive here at the moment. But I have the following

03:00.0 Ethernet Controller: realtek semiconductor co.........(rev 06)

wifi adapter= rev 01

I' also installing restricted extras. Only issue is that it's applying changes forever.

I'm going to need more information than that.

At least share all that's along the lines of

Ethernet controller and network controller. Preferably all of the output would be nice.

Is there any more text there after realtek semiconductor co? Based on the output I've seen online, there should be a model number after those dots...

Okay... So what I've gathered is that the driver isnt loaded.

I really need to be going to bed, but I don't want to leave you with nothing. After a fast Google search, I found this video that should help you.

The GUI looks a bit different, but it's probably the exact same procedure steps... Sorry about your luck with the card you have, WiFi cards can be a bit nasty sometimes to get working.

The latest driver didn't work. I think I will just get a wired connection...
