general media Clichés you can't stand

- Violent psychopathic characters that are supposed to be 'adorable tsunderes' but just end up being man-beating, stupid jerks that attack their lover at the first opportunity.

You mean, like the guys from Twilight and Grey? I don't get that logic either. Worst of all, feminazis don't attack those cliches, but a villain strangling a woman is sexist and shit

Every movie and book ever needing to have a romantic subplot crammed in, even if it has no connection with the actual storyline. Don't get me wrong, I love a good romance but not every story needs to have one.

Friendship isn't always easy. But it's definitely worth fighting for.

exactly, especially when "getting the girl" is the reward for the hero saving the day.  like a woman is an object to be won.

your answer is one of the primary appeals of MLP to me.  the extreme minority of episodes have romantic subplots, so they can focus on the platonic relationships.

In movies:

Horror movies: 1. Whenever I see two people (usually teenagers) making out, I always think to myself "They're gonna die"

                        2. The victims can clearly run at least three times faster than their killer, yet they somehow trip and fall or run

                             themselves into a corner.

I swear, whenever that happens, I always believe that those idiots deserve to die.

                        3. The local law enforcement doesn't believe the victims that there's a killer on the loose until they get attacked by

                             the killer.

                        4. Victims in slasher movies making stupid decisions like taking the wrong path that leads them to a corner rather

than taking the clearly safer path to where they can get outside aid.

                        5. Communications between characters via radio or some other transmission. When someone at the other end gets

killed, it goes to static rather than gets straight up cut off even though that static is only possible if there's a signal

being transmitted. "IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE!! AHH--*static for some reason*"

Romantic movies: 1.Cliche "Dorky" guy that gets "Insanely hot and usually blonde or well endowed or both" girl because her

"Athletic, stupid and usually cheating and/or clueless" boyfriend broke up with her

                             2. When a girl or guy has that one friend of the opposite gender that's CLEARLY the "soul mate" that they're

looking for, but they only see them "as a friend" and end up hooking up with them after they get turned down by

their initial love interest or discover something malicious or weird about their initial love interest.

Action movies: 1. The "Odyssian Scenes". One main character versus two, three, hell even fifty enemies. Main character wins, every

time and usually with the odds clearly stacked against him/her.

                        2. The Big Grunt/ "Hanz and Franz". Main hero beats up dozens of lesser henchmen, no sweat.

Suddenly, a wild Giant Goon appeared.

Giant Goon uses Stereotypical mach punches to Hero's gut. It's super effective!

Hero uses something in the environment to his/her advantage, usually something flammable or overall lethal. It's a

                             one-hit KO.

Giant Goon has fainted. Hero gains exp.

                         3. Doomsday devices with timers that can be defused and the villain leaves it be to do something else thinking "Oh,

He'll/ She'll never get out of there. I'll just leave the clearly vulnerable doomsday device somewhere in the vicinity

of the protagonist so that they can get the highest potency from the weapon." Mind you that the protagonist is

usually left ALONE, with NO ONE GUARDING THEM. And then they act surprised when the protagonist manages

to escape AND defuse the doomsday device AND kick the villain's butt.

                        4. That dead weight companion that everyone hates and ends up saving the protagonist because either the

                            companion somehow knows

a lot about how to get the protagonist out or, and usually, because of pure dumb luck.

                        5. Those overly sexualized women that the usually male protagonist encounters that usually ends up either working

for the villain or is the villain.

Zombie Movies: 1. Characters somehow can't outrun shambling zombies and get bit.

                          2. Two characters, usually guys, are interested in the same character of the opposite gender, usually a girl

                              obviously, and that ONE

aspect affects the choices of both of those feuding characters.

                          3. Some of those zombie massacre scenes where the guys with the guns unleash a storm of bullets into the

                               zombies. Without ANY NEED

TO RELOAD FOR SOME SUSPICIOUS REASON. HMMMM, I WONDER WHY THE MILITARY DOESN'T HAVE

                              MAGAZINES LIKE THAT.

                              HMM.....

The "strong" female character that hates everything that's even remotely girly.

Yeah, one of my favorite females was Patcha's wife Chicha from the emperor's new groove.  She was a strong independant woman while still being quite feminine.

Patcha never needed to save her.  In fact, Patcha had such confidence in her abilities, even while pregnant, that he knew he could abandon her with the villains.

She was furious that Patcha had been disrespected, and in her fury, she calmed herself saying "I'm gonna go wash something".

A good female shouldn't follow all the stereotypes of EITHER gender.  She was an interesting and unique female character, and I think of her everytime I see a lame one.
