Whats with the Hate on Rainbow Power?

I think this is the right area to ask this. I don't know if there is already a question asked but, I was wondering, while checking out other topic discussions, I notice some people dislike or hate the rainbow theme/rainbow power I was wondering whats up with that? :/ 

 

 

For me I don't dislike or hate it, I think...well for one thing, using rainbow as a sign for key episodes is a good idea, since episode 1 to season 4 till we reach Rarity Takes Manehattan episode Ive been wondering and keeping close eye on what the keys are/could be:

Too me seeing the items shine with rainbow as well as the mane 6 eyes has felt like its a key episode and I think the writers did a good job on one of our questions.  I would like to know why some people dislike the rainbow theme. :/

It's something unpredicted, issued by Hasbro, and this fandom is full of people staring intently, fingers hovering over the "Ruined forever" button. I knew people who stopped watching once Twilicorn was announced, because they fear change. They hate the series now, despite never actually watching it. They decide it's easier to condemn and dismiss something out of a misguided sense of "principle".

You you know the box the girls found in the season 4 premiere?

They need to find the keys to open it. That's what the rainbow shimmering items at the end of the episodes are.

They haven't mentioned this because they don't know that they've been finding them.

Anyway, I haven't seen anyone that doesn't like the rainbow theme in general.

But I have seen people dislike the... questionable... character designs for the ponies when they get their rainbow powers.

If the rainbow powers are allowing the girls to open up the elements of harmony box at the end of the season that's fine. If they are going to make everyone an alicorn or have all kinds of additional flair and cutie mark designs on their legs like i've seen in some leaked pictures and toys then yeah that sucks. We don't need more character changes for the mane 6 to sell toys or need all our artists to start drawing them a completely new way to match cannon. Stop messing with the core designs of the characters to sell toys Hasbro. Nuff said.

I don't think it's going to be a permanent design change to their designs.

I think it'll be more like their... sort of... "magical girl", powered-up forms. Something like that.

Like... "I call upon the power of Honesty" and bam, super-powered transformation.

Because people will unfairly judge anything before it comes out. I'm used to it and kind of expecting it. Loo in not saying you have to like it but judge it when it happens and of you don't like it. That's fine. This doesn't even look as show changing as twilicorn especially if it's temporary.

Well this Saturday is a new episode, for many we hope Twilight will get her key for others they just can't wait to see it. For me it's both so can't wait to see it as well as seeing the Equestrian Games they mentioned and prepaired for.

people have opinions. to be honest im not sure why people dont like equestria girls (there a rainbow rocks thing which is probably to do with rainbow powers) i think it might be because it isnt really ponies, and they like ponies. i dont know. but this whole rainbow powers thing, i think a lot of people probably think of it as another way for hasbro to make money on a new toyline or something. same ponies, same not really accurate looking ponies, different hair and different name on front. thats all it is for the toys. a few people are probably getting bored with the rainbow items as well. its like, we arent supposed to know what is happening, but we basically do know because hasbro are pretty much putting it on an A4 sheet and placing it infront of us. i dont know, this probably has one or two of the reasons, but its pretty much opinion based.

If it's temporary that's fine. That's why i haven't been paying that much attention to what's coming up. Better not to get worked up over something that hasn't happened yet or IS just a temporary thing.

Seems more like some effort to give the Mane 5 actual powers rather than just be Twilight's magical booster batteries as they did nothing on their own for their users. Elements of Harmony were used a few times, minus one if you don't accept EG as canon. The Elements themselves haven't been explored in the concept of doing more than purify evil, seal evil, and boost Twilight's magical power.

I guess I never noticed the items. I also hope their overly girly cutie mark thing won't happen, beacause I do not like the design and think the characters are perfect the way they are right now.

It's probably your general fear mongering for the quality of the show as their passionate and have every right to be. In this case, the only  thing I'm worried about is if the change is permanent or an on or off thing (ala anime powerup time), which the former I would get upset, the latter I'll approve as I'm not exactly thrilled by the appearances for some characters.

 

Compared to past instances however, this one ranks fairly low on my panic meter as it involves the same mane 6 we know so no new characters, just new powers for them, no unnecessary changes as it does offer something different for the Mane 6 to have rather than rely on the Elements of harmony to defeat their foe. Other than what I said above, the other thing I'm worried is of how the power transfer between the princesses to Twilight will turn out but that's for another issue and doesn't concern the Rainbow Powers in a direct manner.

It's likely fear that it's Hasbro toy line driving this like what made Equestria Girls.
