What episode made you realize who your favorite pony was?

I knew even before I actually watched the show that Pinkie was going to be my favorite.

 

Story time:

 

I knew some bronies on another forum and thought nothing of it.  One day, I was making a post that needed a rimshot clip (I still don't remember why).  Of course, I found one of Pinkie Pie, so I tried it because I knew the bronies would like it.  And the related videos called my name.  After a few clips, I got the character and what they were doing with her and knew that I had to watch this show.

 

So I guess I could technically say Baby Cakes.

Truthfully, i'm not sure what episode made me realize who my favorite pony is. I had liked Rainbow Dash first. I used to think that Pinkie Pie was real annoying in the first few episodes (I hated her voice and had wished she shut up). I guess it was around the same time I became a brony where I started to appreciate her, and that episode was Cutie Mark Chronicles.

It was Diamond Dogs that made me realise that Rarity was the pony for me mainly because she reminded me of myself. when she's in tough situation she stays calm gives a little attitude and is extremely charming few have mastered this technique but i like to think i'm somewhere up there with Rarity.

Cloud Chaser. EVERY EPISODE SHE APEARS IN! just look at that design! ffs it's better than Rarity's and CC has only spoken about 10 words in the entire series!

I was already a fan of Rainbow Dash before i got into the show, thanks to Death Battle Starscream vs. Rainbow Dash.

And when i saw the episode The Cutie Mark Chronicles, i began to like Rainbow Dash even more and i became a fan of Twiligth Sparkle. I just found her so adorable in her "Yes! Yes! Yes!" moment. Over time, i found more and more similarities between me and her.

Its kind of hard for me, because of the fact that two ponies took to my liking: Pinkie, and Applebloom. Both of them relate really well to me and its impossible to choose between them.(unless they had an Apple Pie ) Applebloom appealed to me through the way she handles herself in a difficult situation, and the lessons she learned were ones I remember learning myself. When my parents got divorced my mom was given custody of me, and it felt like a prison. She never let me do anything by myself, and she was constantly watching over me. (see the resemblence ) Once I got introduced to the show Applebloom really appealed to me because I knew what she was going through. (The episode would have to be "Somepony watching over me" I think thats what its called ) Pinkie Pie got my attention after my dad got custody of me. It really felt great to be able to do whatever you wanted without constant supervision, I really let my true self come out which was all hyper and excited all the time. Everyone at school thought I was funny (through all my retardedness when I got excited ) and It made me feel good to make others smile. When I got to see the Pinkie Pie episodes her personality really hit me as my own. (There were alot of episodes like that so I wont name them all.) Twilight Sparkle is really growing on me though, I can relate to her love of studying and reading (I have my personal collection of books in my closet that amounts to 3,104 books ) I used to watch Star Trek alot so when I saw I new episode I would nerd out so I could watch it, which I saw in Twilight in that episode with Rapper Pie (The episodes arent coming to me right now )

I knew Fluttershy was my pony when, in Dragonshy, (this will sound cheesy) Fluttershy conquered her fear to save her friends. I felt a conection with her because I would probably be as freaked out as she was  but I'm confident I would have done the same thing.

It was really an over time thing but Rarity's beautiful singing voice is what really caught me. Things like dealing with the Diamond Dogs (until they stopped takin' her shit lying down xD ) was only supplementary to her awesome.

The Episode

 

Oh god the first time i watched Sonic Rainboom I knew i had found my "best pony". 

 

Backstory

 

I had started watching the series (as i do with every tv show) chronologically and i had already known about Rainbow Dash beforehand considering when i first got into it she was by far (and still is) one of the more popular ponies out of the mane 6. Now she was the first pony to make me laugh when she crashed into Twilight and said "oops hehe sorry, here let me help you." and when she proceeded to absolutely douse Twilight i lost it. After that i decided to direct my attention to her whenever she was on screen, when i saw she was the element of loyalty i freaked out because Loyalty and Generosity are by far the most important virtues to me. So here i was after the season 1 premiere with a purple unicorn who was ok i guess, orange pony with no powers who was a country bumpkin, another pony with no powers who was really pink but good at singing, a yellow flying pony who was shy but great with animals, a white unicorn who was so fucking prissy, and then you had this rainbow colored flying pony who was hilarious, loyal, and just so fucking confident and awesome! 

 

I started watching the next few episodes and my heart completely melted when she went "so awesome" and once again laughed my ass off when she was on screen with the orange nopowers pony. Then when she started having some development with the pink pony i started loving that pink one and when she told Gilda to fuck off after being a bitch i was like "awwww yiss!" Then of course she showed up Trixie in Boast Busters and kicked a fucking dragon in dragonshy! So by this point i picked up on the terms earth, unicorn, and pegasus ponies and still loved Dashie but my perspective changed on the other mane 6 as well, we had this white unicorn who wasn't so prissy as a thought and actually very clever and funny, you had an adorable yellow pegasus pony who cared about everyone, you had an amazing and energetic pink party pony who was an amazing singer, you had a very hardworking and honest orange earth pony who had a mean hat, and you had a very smart and levelheaded purple unicorn. Then came the episode...the one that would change the way i watched MLP forever: Sonic. Rainboom. I mean this is the episode that literally made me see Dashie as more than a regular pegasus pony and understand the magnitude of her awesomeness is always 20% cooler than anyone elses in the room at any given time!

 

Since then I've been with the show for a little while now and have to saw Dashie will always have a special place in my heart even when i'm 30 or 40...And that children is the story of how i picked my best pony.

I can't really remember any particular episodes where I fell in love with anypony, because I like all of them (except spike). Though the episode where we learn about pinkie pie's pinkie sense, is when I realized I loved her. At first I was neutral with all the ponies, but they all became my little lovelies!
